  1. @@OutsideMatchInside I wish that was the case for me! Does it taste similar to normal baked goods for you?
  2. @@OutsideMatchInside I hadn't thought of that! That's probably true. So swerve doesn't do anything weird for you? There's no odd aftertaste?
  3. @@OutsideMatchInside no! I don't even notice the Erythritol in the ice cream which is why I was so excited to try Swerve but it literally made my tongue tingle!
  4. @@melyssafaye that's a common misconception. Truvia is actually a blend of stevia, sugar alcohols and other ingredients I can't pronounce. I can't say that it's bad for you but it's produced by Coca Cola which makes me suspicious. Though that may just me being paranoid!
  5. @@Stevehud thanks for the advice. However, I don't mind carbs, especially if they're complex. As an incredibly active person I need a decent amount of carbs.
  6. @@OutsideMatchInside I tried Swerve. It made my mouth tingly. I tried Xylitol but I can't remember the brand. I tried SweetLeaf baking mix. There are a few others whose names I can't remember. I tried making brownies. I tried making cupcakes. I tried making frosting. Some of the recipes are from Chocolate Covered Katie, Amy's Healthy Baking, All Day I Dream of Food, and Desserts with Benefits. It's been awhile so I can't remember the exact recipes but I'm trying to start increasing my protein and it made me want to try again
  7. Has anyone had real success baking with stevia, Xylitol or Erythritol? I enjoy foods that are made with these ingredients but whenever I try to bake with them they come out terrible. I've found all these wonderful looking recipes for protein baked goods but I'm never able to make them turn out well. I can't use Truvia, Splenda or aspartame because that stuff gives me headaches and triples my sugar cravings. Any advice?
  8. Something weird happened in the UP app and all my "teammates" disappeared. Could you guys add me again?
  9. @@ychani glad to hear it!
  10. @@ychani congrats on having the surgery! How are you feeling so far?
  11. @@ychani excellent! I accepted.
  12. Here's mine. About 6 months before surgery and a year after.
  13. @@dlappjr are you taking them as a powder or as a pill? I only ask because I read the pills aren't nearly as effective, though I can't say that from actual experience having never taken them.
  14. I'm looking for teammates too. Sarah.harding13@gmail.com.
  15. @@dlappjr I'm still trying to get my head around carbs too but from all the research I've done, they really are necessary for recovery. I've slowly been increasing my work out - distance, reps, time, etc - and it's taking longer and longer to recover. I'm adding in some extra carbs to see if that helps. BCAAs are also good. My protein powder has them but I just got an electrolyte replenishing powder that also has BCAAs and glutamine which is also supposed to help.
  16. I'm not seeing your email. I'd love more teammates! Edited: never mind I found you! If anyone else is looking for teammates my email is sarah.harding13@gmail.com
  17. I eat Greek yogurt about half an hour to and hour before working out. I get cramps if I do anything heavier. I get light headed if I don't eat at least a small about of carbs beforehand. All the research I've done suggests eating something before working out, usually some kind of carbohydrate like a banana, and some protein.
  18. I went from the highest setting to the lowest by about 8 months post op. My pulmonary doc put in a request for a new sleep study multiple times but my medical group loves to deny me for everything so I just stopped using it. Haven't had any problems with it and I sleep great!
  19. @@jane13 awesome! Yay for being anal retentive!
  20. @@jane13 thanks! I find weighing good immensely helpful because it keeps me honest. And I like to be super precise because I'm really anal retentive
  21. @@Alex Brecher thanks! I think I am going to bump up the calories. My weight loss has come to a grinding halt as of late.
  22. @@VSGAnn2014 yep everyone is different. However never hurts to find out what other people who have been successful have done. I enjoy doing the research.
  23. @@WannabeH @@DaisyAmy @@Kelly1121 thanks guys!!
