    NSV - underwear

Congratulations! I don't know how you got by without changing bra sizes, I'm adamant about wearing a good fitting bra. But I haven't bothered with new underwear yet. so everyone is pretty much scared to buy new panties and during their weight loss they just keep wearing the granny panties? How can you walk around with saggy undies?? I'm not afraid, just haven't had the need. My undies aren't saggy, and I had a few sizes on hand anyway.

    So many questions?

I was one that said if I had less than 100 to lose I wouldn't do the surgery. But now after learning more about the procedures, I'd probably let that be the the determining factor over which procedure I'd get, not rule it out. I don't get why people test their tummies. I know in my case, I'm always curious if I will dump, but I don't seek to test it. If I spent my days testing how much I can eat like how I did before, there'd no point in doing surgery. How Will you look? I can't answer that... I won't even know how I'll look... I've never been a normal weight. Trust that your body knows when to stop losing. You may dip lower than you want to, but there is always some bounce back regain. Good luck!
  4. I'm officially, (less than) 1/2 way to my goal!

Great news. Here's a puzzler to keep you occupied: If you 'travel' half the remaining distance each month, how long will it take you to get there?

    Cream of wheat breakfast

I haven't made cream of wheat for a while, but will eat oatmeal. For oatmeal I buy the plain flavor, (flavored instant have to much sugar)1/4c. oatmeal to 1/2 c. milk. I add vanilla extract and nutmeg & splenda. I usually eat oatmeal with 1 boiled egg & 1 boiled egg white. a single serving of cream of wheat uses 3Tbs to one cup milk I believe.
  7. We don't have enough trick or treaters to bother with candy. Lights we'll be off at our house. My kids don't trick or treat. That being said, I have bought candy for the house and I have eaten a piece or two. For me learning to coexist around sweets is as important as avoiding them.
  8. Not one second has gone by pre or post op where I have regretted my decision. Not one moment, not one glancing thought, not one fleeting wish... The complaints I listed are absolutely nothing compared to the list of complaints I could have made while I was obese. I got my life back, and I gave my family the gift of being the absolute best possible me I could be. I am abso-freaking-lutely thrilled every moment of every day. I get it. And like you I'm absolutely loving where I am at the moment. Keep on enjoying life!
  9. Maybe it because I'm not at my goal yet, but for where *I* am right now, if I felt like you do in the 1st part of your post, I'd be feeling very upset/regretful. So I must ask.. when you were working your way towards your goal and having these issues, were you as convinced it was the right move?
  10. I don't think her husband and her want anyone watching. LOL!!
  11. Some people like adding PB2 to there chocolate shakes.
  12. How far out from surgery are you? Earlier its harder, but it gets better. At almost 6 months I can drink about 8 oz over 15 minutes. I carry a 32oz bottle with me everywhere. During my work day I make sure to finish it, sipping periodically throughout the day, then drink some more at home before/after dinner. I don't quiet get 64oz daily, but I'm close. Works for me.

    Weight lost during pre-op diet.

I lost 14 pounds in my 2 week pre op diet. My diet was liquids only, (Some allow for 1 meal a day).
  14. I kind of do this too. If i crave a fast food, soda, etc I remind myself all of these chains/companies have been around 50+ years. I tell myself that if they ever announce going out of business or quitting production of something I like...maybe then I'll indulge. Until then there is no hurry for me to have one now, today, in this moment. I have a a goal to meet and more than likely, all this stuff will be there when I meet goal-- if I even want it by then.
  15. Had my ring finger sized...its now a 7.5, my current wedding ring set is a 9. Guess I'll be retiring them for a while till its time to re-size. Its hard b/c I LOVE my set.

I'm so worried that will happen to me Elode. I ordered a fake set off of amazon to wear in the interim.

My ring size has always been a 7.5. It's hard to imagine it any smaller. I know it is hard not to be able to wear your rings. I am so use to them on my finger.

  16. The only yogurt I eat ( Oikos greek vanilla) is mote sugar than my nut recommends. I eat it, but don't do so daily. I break up khasi's pumpkin spice flax granola and add to it to get my pumpkin fix.
  17. Yup, I get it 100%. After the first time, I don't care for the attention anymore. And like you, knowing I'm only halfway there, it feels premature. I quietly say thank you, I've been working at it and try to change the subject. Honestly though, far less comment on it that I'd anticipated would.

    Helpppppp.......

Yup, juice is definitely a gateway for me. Only juice I drink occasionally is Apple, but I Water it down a lot so I don't get used to the sweetness.

    I guess its my turn!

Looking good! Congrats on your success.
  21. Grrr. So I was within a pound of my next milestone, half way to goal. I decided to own that I'd get there this week and took advantage of a Columbus day sale and treated myself to a half way to goal gift. Today is weigh day for me... Stepped on the scale and I freaking gained. Ugh! (My stalls seem to manifest as a loss one week then gaining the same same the following week). Lesson learned... No rewarding myself till I see the number on the scale!!! I won't let this derail me. I'll reevaluate my intake, but am more than confident this is just one of those bumps along the way. I'm wearing an outfit today that just 'XL'... Not plus sized. I'm wearing a necklace my kids got me a few years ago that was too small for my neck at the time. And I tried on a winter coat I got at a thrift store a month ago and was tight, it fits now. Too many good things to let this hiccup derail me. Onward and downward!

    Stuck! Help!

Walking is the only thing that ever helped a stuck feeling for me. I hate throwing up, so I never tried for that kind of relief.

    Exercise 'guilt'

I didn't start working out till I was eight weeks post op. Started with couch to 5k and circuit training. Pretty much doing the same thing but added an app I can do from home for variety. Each workout for me is about 30 minutes, now I work at adding 15 minutes.
  24. So, leave it to more to find a way to guilt myself over something that's good for you. So since it's getting darker earlier and school has started (so I'm helping my kids with homework) I can't work out as long/often as I'd gotten used to. Mind you I've worked out 4 days already since Saturday; but since my mind feels like I should be pushing to do more, enter guilt. So where does a reforming fatty's mind go when they feel guilt??... To eating. Damn mind tricks... It's as if my mind is saying to me 'if you can't work out then this is all for naught and you may as well eat.' I haven't actually eaten anything, but just these thoughts drive me crazy! Doesn't help that I'm approaching six months post op and I'm hyper aware of the possibility of the honeymoon fading. Gonna grab a s.f. Jello and try and ignore the stupid voices in my head.
  25. agreed! It was nasty. Even my hubby tried it-- he thought I was trying to poison him LOL!
