  1. @@hockeyfan7 Are you 2 weeks out from surgery? And you are eating regular food and getting in 1,000 calories a day? Do you have a nutritionist?

    I'm way too full

I used a baby spoon when I started pureed foods. Two to three spoonfuls was all I could eat on day three. When I was on soft foods, day three (two weeks later), I still used the baby spoon and was only able to get in 4 or 5 bites. It's normal.

    Curious

Can you call your insurance company to find out if you have been approved? I was sent an approval letter as well as my surgeon's office.

    Washing after surgery

Yep. Took a shower the next day. Incisions were covered in superglue or something like that.

    Touch of the stomach bug

You'll be alright @missheidi47. You are doing a good job and being mindful of what you are supposed to be doing. All of us, I am sure, have had a day or two of not getting in all of our Protein or all of our Water. Circumstances will come up at different times throughout your journey that will make it tough for you to reach your number. Don't beat yourself up about it and just do better the next day. Hope you start feeling better.

Get a scale to keep at home. Weigh once a week, in the morning before Breakfast, wearing nothing.

    Mira-NO-Lax

Try aloe vera juice. You can find it in the laxative section at Walmart. I drink 4 ounces every other evening or so to stay regular.

    Lazy in the kitchen!

I loved cooking before surgery and I love cooking after surgery. Big family holiday dinners are always at my house. I do family Sunday dinner twice a month for my kids/grandkids/parents and whoever else wants to come. I watch cooking shows all of the time for new ideas. I follow foodies on Instagram and get a variety of cooking magazines in the mail and through the internet. I own over 200 cookbooks. I follow my plan and I am successful at weight loss finally! This surgery has been a lifesaver for me. I have limits now. I appreciate food so much more now that I eat it for nourishment and not just mindlessly. I enjoy and always have enjoyed entertaining my family with my food. They love it and I love that they love. My mother thought that I would "change" with the surgery, but she is pleased with the new healthier menu and pleased with the fact that I still host the family dinners. My family is very supportive and I've noticed that some of them are making smaller plates and skipping second helpings.

This is 58 Lbs on Me :/

I'm like you @, I don't see it in the mirror. However, I see it on the scale, on the measuring tape, and in my clothing. At my high weight I was a size 28/30 and I went shopping this weekend for size 18 shorts and jeans. I still can't believe it.

  19. You should ask your nutritionist, @@nrg33, but tuna and chicken salad was not in my pureed stage. That came later in the "soft foods" stage.

    Tiredness and Regret

Hi Kimmie, You will be tired for a few more weeks unfortunately. However, with the weight loss you will notice that you will have more stamina. Just be sure to get your Water and Protein in and take your walks daily. You will notice that you can walk faster and for a longer period of time as time passes. Your energy level will come up as your calorie intake increases. Just keep doing what your surgery team recommends and you will be fine.

    NSV shout outs

This time last summer I was wearing size 28 pants and shorts. Today I am going shopping for size 18 jeans and shorts because my size 20's are too big!!! I am amazed every day with NSV's. There are so many, and I am so grateful. I am so happy that I had the surgery. I will not do anything to mess this up!
