  1. Your body is still healing and swollen from surgery. I know it's easy to say, but hang in there, it will come off. SD 3/4/15 SW 210 CW 155 GW 135
  2. I was told I can drink up to the first bite and then not until 30 minutes after the last bite. It works fine for me and I am down 50 lbs in 4 months.
  3. My surgery date was 3/4/15. On my three month visit my NUT told me I am losing above average. SW 210, CW 160, GW 135. I hate to admit it, but I hardly exercise at all. I have noticed a lot of people who exercise a lot lose slower. I think that in the beginning, you're burning calories rapidly, and the exercise can put you into starvation mode.
  4. I was sleeved on the same day, and as of today I am down 32 pounds. You look great. I'm so much happier than I was just two months ago. Keep up the good work!
  5. 30 pounds in a month is an amazing achievement. Don't feel down. My doc said the biggest loss comes in the first two weeks after surgery and then you can expect anywhere from 1-5 pounds a week. I lost 25 in my first month and just hit thirty at 6 weeks. Hang in there, it's working!
  6. You should definitely talk to your nut. The protein is key, as is the liquid. You say you're eating more than you expected. What does a typical day look like for you? How do you feel physically? I was swollen for a few weeks, and that could be halting your loss. Best of luck. Hang in there!
  7. My mom is away, so I didn't have to face a big dinner. My husband, daughter, and I just had a regular dinner at home. They had stir fry with rice , veggies, and shrimp. I had sesame grilled tofu. I never went for the pureed stuff. Just soft foods that were already that way. I'll be 5 weeks on Wed and I get to start solid foods. You'll do great. It does get easier.
  8. Hey all, We are all about a month out? How is everyone doing and feeling? I am down 23 lbs, physically I feel great. Going go go for a bike ride today. I'd love to hear some updates!
  9. I hope all went well. We went to the same practice, I had Dr. Garber but Dr. Holover did my endoscopy. I am one month out and down 23 pounds. Physically I feel great, but the first two weeks were hard. How are you feeling?
  10. Hi Para Thighs, One month and I am down 23 pounds. I can't wait to start exercising again. Dr gave me the OK. One more week of softs.
  11. Hello all, Three weeks today and I am down 20 lbs. I am so thrilled that this is working. I know so many have lost weight with the VSG, but I was skeptical that just like everything else, it wouldn't work. I am on my way down my wardrobe, started at 16 now I am comfortably in 14. I've been yoyo-ing between those two sizes for about two years. I am looking forward to getting to 12 and dumping these higher sizes. This group has been a great support. How is everyone else doing?
  12. Hi JennyT, I am a week post op too and still feel pretty bad and i had 4 c-sections. I can't seem to keep anything down long enough. I have my first consultation tomorrow too, so i hope all goes well. Good luck and i will keep your recovery in my prayers! How are you doing? I hope you are able to keep your food down now. How did the doctor visit go?
  13. I'm ok. Trying to get the Protein and Fluid in, but still not there. I think this may be hindering my loss. A little over two weeks and 16 lbs gone. Some people are posting 30 lb losses in one month. I can't imagine that will be me.
  14. Hello All, I had my surgery March 4 in NY and I am down 16lbs. I think this is great, not sure if it's typical, but I am thrilled. How is everyone else doing?
  15. Wow, 65 pounds in 3 months. What an achievement. I can't wait to be that far along. Keep up the great work.
  16. Please add me. My email is jenthomas513@gmail.com If it's private, does that mean it won't show up on my wall posts?
  17. Two weeks today and I am down 16 lbs! I am thrilled. Is anyone else nervous about transitioning back to solid food? I know I'm not there yet, but time is flying.
  18. Thanks! I am feeling much better today. I saw the doctor and I am down 12 lbs! To me, that is miraculous, and worth. Good luck to you too.
  19. Today is a week since the surgery. I thought I would be feeling better by now. I've never had major surgery, and even my c-section didn't take this much out of me. Maybe because I ate so much after. Tomorrow is my 1st post op appointment and I am nervous. I seriously don't feel like I've lost any weight, but it will be the first time in forever getting on a scale and being hopeful. This forum is incredibly helpful.
  20. I'm feeling the same things! Very emotional.
  21. I was done on Wed the 4th. It's very uncomfortable drinking anything, but I am trying to get the protein in. The nutritionist said I'm probably still swollen so that should ease in a few days. I know this is a major operation, but I have to go back to work tomorrow. I teach high school.
  22. I left the hospital yesterday. First day post-op was the worse, but each day is getting better. Weirdest thing is to not be hungry. I look forward to getting used to that. I don't have a scale, so I probably won't weigh myself other than at the doctor's office. Hope you are feeling well. Jen
  23. Hi. My surgery is on March 4 also. I'm excited and nervous but I know it's the right thing to do. Cool we're starting on the same day.
