  1. I am not yet banded, but hope to be soon. I had my initial consult with Dr. Schram in November. I came home and started reading all the posts. I found this excellent list of items needed after the surgery. I printed it out, but have lost it in the meantime, and now I Cannot Find It on this site!! :help: Can anyone tell me where to find the list of food, etc that may be needed after surgery? I remember it has pineapple juice and gas-x, but it was a long, long list. I want to start buying things now. Although I have not yet been approved, I did call and get the criteria needed for an approval, and I have all that all covered as of today, so am SO excited to get the ball rolling... I am calling the Barix Clinics tomorrow to see what they want me to do next.... So, if anyone has the list or knows where I can find it in the posts again, please let me know!!
  2. Thank you!! That is just what I needed!! I am headed to WalMart tomorrow!!! Thanks again!!

I am waiting for my insurance card!! I already had the initial consult, I have a sleep apnea test scheduled on Jan 9th. As soon as I get the card, I am supposed to fax front and back to the barix clinic and they will get the ball rolling!!!! I cannot wait.... I am sooo hopeful they will ok it.

    eye opening experience

Was when I started getting winded at work walking to the cafeteria, huffing and puffing like I had gone up 2 or 3 flights of stairs. I have to wait until January before I can try for approval, as my insurance for this year will not cover it. It is so exciting reading all the posts here, I still find it hard to believe it might come true!!:help:
  5. I am new to this site. I went to my consultation and the Dr said the insurance company I have usually OK's this insurance, but I am fretting about it...I am so afraid that this is too good to be true. Can I really finally have a sucessful long-term weight loss? I am just so scared bureaucracy will not allow me to have this wonderful tool. One thing surprised me on this site...several people have said they are hungry after the surgery. I did not expect that. Is that something every one goes through, and if so, how do you deal with it?
  6. Ok, now that I know I will be hungry, I can deal with it. They give you a diet to follow, right? So, if I do follow that, then I should be ok. Good luck on the insurance stuff, everyone. I actually have to wait until January to get approved because I have a HRA right now, which doesn't cover much of anything!! But I signed up for the better insurance, and that becomes effective on January 1st. I have to have a sleep apnea test done before the surgery. The Dr told me to have my regular Dr set that up, so I faxed it over to him, but no response yet....anyone know how the sleep test works?
