I didn't really keep track too well yesterday....went to a family gathering in the evening and was running non-stop before that. My mother in law wanted me to make my famous yummy chicken salad (has grapes, pecans, and other yummy stuff in it). It makes a huge batch to serve about 20 people. Then I serve it on buttery croissants.....yummy EXCEPT, as you all know I can't do chicken, so that was somewhat torturous to make it and not be able to eat it:mad: I crashed eating chips/dip at my MIL's later in the evening. SO..Here's a rough estimate........ Breakfast: 100 calorie snack pack Lunch: (Jerusalem Cafe) about 3 Pita triangles smothered in hummus, estimate about 2 ounces Gyro meat with 1 Tbsp cucumber sauce......(that gyro meat is soooooo tender, I can't believe I haven't thought of trying it before to get my Protein in). Afternoon Snack: (Walking through costco they had sooo many samples :guess I had a bite of crab dip, a bite of hummus on a cracker, etc etc) 1/3 cup frozen yogurt ice cream, 1/2 one of those cinnamon bread sticks) Afternoon Snack #2: Made Cate's dip....about 1/4 cup (pureed the heck out of it so you can't even tell there's chicken in it:biggrin1: ) with 5 melba toasts....yummy! dinner: Crash and burn.....chips with guac......chips with pizza dip......more chips with guac.....1/4 cup mandarin orange salad......2 snickerdoodles......more chips with guac......more snickerdoodles.......bite of cinnamon crunch coffee cake.......another snickerdoodle.......piece of frozen german chocolate pie..............GRAZED ALL NIGHT!:faint: Water/Tea: 64 oz Exercise: no planned exercise, but got some in other ways :bandit Today's a new day...and I got lots of good low carb stuff to make at the store yesterday. We'll say what the day holds;)

I'll miss you Angela- Have fun while you are out of town.....I elect you leader of the group to actually bring it up with Dr. H. I think you are the most articulate with words, and the key opposite of me......unemotional when it comes to voicing your opinion on this particular issue (and please know I don't mean that as an insult in any way, shape, or form). In fact, I'm jealous that you can be that way. I just get too hurt at the thought of everything that has happened to me when it comes to my interactions with various office staff. Him and I have tiptoed around things, but never talked about it point-blank. I am regretful now that I seemingly lost my opportunity:think ... I have to say that some time away from the SMMC support group, as well as not 'having' to interact with the office lately, has allowed some of the wounds to heal. But I think I will always be deeply saddened by some of the treatment I have received, as you said never by Dr H. though. Unfortunately, I am bound to him due to being self pay. I make a $500 payment every month to the loan company to remind me of that....I probably could if I tried really hard, but I don't want to spend extra money unnecessarily on paying another fill doc for my fills/treatment. I totally understand where you are coming from. You need to get in to see him though asap next week. I think it would be a prime opportunity (if you deem it appropriate) to bring up some of the things that haven't before been mentioned. And based on your posts and all of our interactions Angela, I think you would represent all of our thoughts, as a whole, VERY VERY well. I'm sending you another one of those touchy feely hugs your way (that I know you hate so much!! ) Love ya girl!

Okay girls (and bear:) ).....I don't know why, but I've had a rough band day.....I think it's because I'm tired and my inhibitions were really low today. Here goes: Breakfast: 80 cal yogurt AM Snack#1: 4 bites of thinly sliced bagel/ 2 tbsp peanut butter AM Snack#2: 3 pieces of Hershey's Dark Chocolate w/Almonds Lunch: Not counting this because I hurled :cry (it was a small salad, but I made the mistake of yet again trying 2-3 bites of chicken on it) PM Snack #1: 2 small Peanut Butter cookies PM Snack #2: 2 bites of carrot cake Dinner: Tortilla Chips/Queso (for the chiefs game) ....and lots of them...(this is where the majority of my calories came from today) Total Calories: 1252 with 50 Grams of Protein (and the night is still young)...I'm gonna go lock myself upstairs in the bedroom, far far away from the kitchen. Fluids: 40 oz water, plus 16 oz coffee Exercise: 5.25 miles walked at work:bored Scale isn't moving....but I'm also PMS'ing...(hence the carb attack today).

Diane I am SOOOOO happy for you. That is incredible!!!!! It makes me so happy that you are dropping the pounds again! I truly do think the accountability thing is key because I am so embarrassed when I have to write down something bad I ate for the day. It doesn't always keep me from eating what I shouldn't, but it definitely keeps me from eating MORE than I should. The accountability log has been an eye opening experience for me. I hope we can keep it up....... Also, I am of the mindset that you should exercise to stay healthy....not necessarily exercise to lose weight.....I know....not a popular school of thought. But I went almost 8 months without EVER exercising, and that is when I lost the weight the fastest. Then when I started exercising, didn't really see much loss, although I have to say that it felt good. I don't go for the whole 'muscle weighs more than fat' thing as an excuse for not losing weight when I exercise....You have to build quite a bit of muscle for it to cause you to actually GAIN weight. What I am putting in my mouth is my primary problem:rolleyes:

    swelling above port incision

I don't want to scare you, but I had a port infection 4 months post-op, which isn't typical either. They said what happened is the skin healed, but the infection was trapped underneath the skin. Mine presented with a painful lump and got worse, reddened and hot, after the lump/hard spot appeared. I eventually had to have the port removed, leave the incision open to drain for 2 months, then had the port replaced later. If this in fact the case, you need to get seen asap, the longer the infection is there and festering (for lack of better word) it can 'travel' up the tubing to the area where the band latches around the stomach....you DO NOT want this to happen. The more localized the infection is, the better (if there can be a 'better' with a port infection:rolleyes: ). Best of luck, and get it checked out soon!

Girly- Don't make me come beat you! You must eat!! Try eating more often.....like a small protein snack every 2 hours throughout the day at work. Set a little alarm if you have to remind yourself. Lick a tablespoon of peanut butter or something. Ever since I had the band, I can't really remember ever being "physically" hungry, EVER....NEVER! (although I'm not counting head hunger which is my true beast). I thought I saw on a thread you were going for another fill?? Did you change your mind?

I love this thread...I'm gonna go through it to get some ideas for some different things to buy at the grocery this week:hungry: Here goes.... Breakfast: yogurt, coffee with creamer Morning Snack: 1/4 cup cheese cubes/diced summer sausages Lunch: 4 oz roast beef lunchmeat, 1 slice cheese, sliced tomatoes. 1/4 cup chili. Afternoon Snack: 2 tbsp peanut butter w/4 saltine crackers. Dinner: You guessed it...too tired to eat. Stopped at Sonic on my way home and had an ice cream cone though :pout: That puts my totals for today at 1,006 calories and 56 grams of protein;) Water: Much better today, 64 ounces!:whoo: Exercise: Clocked 4 miles on my podometer at work today:target: :flame: Now I must go collapse!!!! Three days of this in a row is about to kill me!:faint2:

I'm the same way cate....stress binging is something that can be very real to me. Now I don't in any way binge like I used to pre-band...but sometimes it still scares me when I catch myself "starting" to do it. It is numbing to the emotions and stress in some way. Not that I'm saying your Mom is ANYTHING like my mom.....because my mom (aka Monster as I call her now) is a complete psycho. I made the decision about 6 months ago to break all ties, as it just wasn't healthy for me anymore to continually subject myself to her ongoing manipulation, control, and at times abuse. It has been so much better since I made that decision (albeit a hard one). Again, I'm not saying your mom is anything like mine....but I do have an understanding of what you go through. Sometimes when I would get done talking to my mom, even after lapband surgery, it would just make me want to binge to numb the psyche. Hang in there....things will get better soon. What kind of job are you looking for? Is the economy/job market just crappy there after Katrina or what?

(Heavy sigh).....Oh to be young again:faint: Just don't get a dolphin on your abdomen like my sister did. When she got pregnant it became an ugly whale with stretchmarks through the middle of it:p I've also seen a lot of shall we say "interesting" tatoos in "interesting" places in my line of work (needless to say I see a lot of normally 'unexposed' areas...you wouldn't believe the things people do to themselves "down there" with various tatoos and piercings:guess )

Ha....that made me laugh....I think I had 175 put on my drivers license when I was 16, which of course was about 75 pounds too little. I'll have to check it out though and see what's actually on there. Wouldn't it be exciting to change the weight on there for the next D.L. renewal Diane...Nope... no lincoln logs, but I loved them as a kid.

I think maybe that is why I'm also so apprehensive about "working out" on my days off too. I'm beat from "working out" at my day job:rolleyes: Problem is....it can at times be "aerobic", but most of the time just average activity....so I"m not really getting an aerobic workout through the week unless I push myself else where with actual "exercise" on my days off.....no way in heck I could go for a walk after work:omg: It's no wonder nursing has one of the highest burn out rates:(
