I've never been given a calorie count to stay within. I've been told by my doctor to eat lots of veggies and fruits. However, you need allot of Protein to help in healing. So, I just make sure I get a minimum of 60 grams per day. I do eat right though and make sure to pick healthy choices.

I'm so glad that you posted this because I have been feeling the same way. I am six weeks post op and luckily have not had any issues with food. I also do not experience that full feeling others do. I eat right and I prepare smaller portions than I normally would but sometimes after I eat I feel I could still eat more. Not that he can really do anything but, I'm going to bring this up with my Dr. in a couple of weeks when I go.

It's takes like six weeks for the anesthesia to completely get out of your system.

I had one overnight stay. I only had pain meds the day of surgery and I was off work one week.
Good luck!

Hi!
Can you please share with me what a typical day of your meals are? I'm just curious what everyone is eating once they moved into regular foods.
Thanks!!

@bashlee, thanks for the suggestion. I have not heard of those but, I'm going to get one to try.

Yes, I love them. My favorite is the coconut and vanilla. Had one this morning with some chopped strawberries.

Hi, I read a post earlier and now I can't find it. It mentioned that Premier Protein shakes were not good for WLS patients. Is that correct? If so, just curious why?
Thank you!

I too went in wanting the sleeve procedure but, my doctor recommended rny because I have acid reflux. I also have arthritis but since my pre-op diet and post surgery I haven't had any issues with it at all. Just goes to show that allot of foods I was eating prior to my surgery really gave me so many issues.

I have had the same issue since my surgery. I asked my Doctor at my post op appointment and he said it was normal. It wasn't till I started eating soft foods (this week) that I have finally had a full sensation but, not all the time. I had about 1/3 cup of food for dinner last night not including a little of avocado on the side and my husband was like "can you eat all that"? He wasn't being mean he just wasn't sure how much I was supposed to eat and I have to say neither do I. I wasn't able to eat it all but, it would really help me if I had a guideline to follow.

I know it doesn't seem like it right now but, it gets easier and goes by relatively fast too. You'll be eating regular foods in no time.
