Thanks for sharing.I have RA and was sleeved in May. I have lost 28 lbs, but in the past week gained 3 back as I started taking prednisone again. I had a terrible flare up. The RA makes it extremely difficult to work out when a false up occurs but when it calm weight loss and workout regiment is good.

Hello. I have sjogren's syndrome and I am getting sleeved on July 20th. My rheumatoid arthritis doctor encouraged the surgery for a better quality of life for me. This extra weight is rough on my knees. Sometimes, I can hardly walk. It's hard enough just getting out of the bed. I am almost always exhausted.Having sleeve on August 7th. Beginning to wander if I will be able to recoup as quickly and as well as ppl that do not have these problems. I'm already extremely fatigued all the time.

Mine is scheduled for July 6th. I'm super excited and a little nervous.I'm scheduled for 1:15pm on Monday. A little nervous but ready to go. Anyone have a suggestion for a good Protein shake/brand? I really have never liked any I have tried over the years. Also anyone else having one next week?

I sure will.
Good luck to you. I go in July 16 let me know how it goes
Thanks! I have to have a hiatal hernia repair also. My VSG surgery date is July 6, 2015. I am excited + a little nervous.
Thanks cause didn't know what to expect. How long was your recovery? like before you could return to work?I had a hiatal hernia repair done at the same time. You have one more incision and no more gastric reflux. In very crude terms, they just pull the part of your esophagus that is not supposed to be above your diaphragm back down to where it belongs in your abdominal cavity. I only started having reflux about 2 months before surgery and I haven't had it since. I also didn't notice anything different than I feel like I would have noticed if I only had the sleeve surgery done. Fixing the hiatal hernia is often part of the process for sleeve surgery and very routine.

God bless.I'm having my surgery the week do the 13th of July hopefully in TJ Mexico with Dr. Maytorena. I would like to lose about 65-80 lbs. that's a big range but lol just have to see as I go how I feel and how I look.

. Hi Blashlee! I was checking to see how you are and if you've had your surgery yet. I hope all is well.Thank you for sharing! Good luck I hope you get your approval soon. Mine was really quick but I've known other people who've had to wait. Now that I'm approved and just awaiting further instruction, anxiety is slowly settling in, but it's mostly overshadowed by excitement.

. Wow! That's good to know! Thanks for sharing! Love your name! I am anxious, because my surgery is coming up soon on June 29th.My time in the surgical OR was 66 minutes. The nurse reiterated it over and over again. I was in recovery for about 90 minutes then in my room. Discharged the next afternoon.

Actual surgery itself was about 1 1/2 hrs because I had a Hiatal Hernia repair. I think that adds abut 30 mins. 3 hours must include everything you have to go thru from check-in time to being taken to your hospital room.
Good luck with your surgery. You will be really glad you did this.
Hi there. I was told the doctor has to take down my hernia repair for the surgery. Then, come back and repair it again after the surgery. Was that the case with you?
