  1. Having sleeve on August 7th. Beginning to wander if I will be able to recoup as quickly and as well as ppl that do not have these problems. I'm already extremely fatigued all the time.

Hello. I have sjogren's syndrome and I am getting sleeved on July 20th. My rheumatoid arthritis doctor encouraged the surgery for a better quality of life for me. This extra weight is rough on my knees. Sometimes, I can hardly walk. It's hard enough just getting out of the bed. I am almost always exhausted.

  2. I had a hiatal hernia repair done at the same time. You have one more incision and no more gastric reflux. In very crude terms, they just pull the part of your esophagus that is not supposed to be above your diaphragm back down to where it belongs in your abdominal cavity. I only started having reflux about 2 months before surgery and I haven't had it since. I also didn't notice anything different than I feel like I would have noticed if I only had the sleeve surgery done. Fixing the hiatal hernia is often part of the process for sleeve surgery and very routine.

Thanks cause didn't know what to expect. How long was your recovery? like before you could return to work?
Thanks! I have to have a hiatal hernia repair also. My VSG surgery date is July 6, 2015. I am excited + a little nervous.
Good luck to you. I go in July 16 let me know how it goes
    I sure will.

Thank you for sharing! Good luck I hope you get your approval soon. Mine was really quick but I've known other people who've had to wait. Now that I'm approved and just awaiting further instruction, anxiety is slowly settling in, but it's mostly overshadowed by excitement.

. Hi Blashlee! I was checking to see how you are and if you've had your surgery yet. I hope all is well.

  5. Actual surgery itself was about 1 1/2 hrs because I had a Hiatal Hernia repair. I think that adds abut 30 mins. 3 hours must include everything you have to go thru from check-in time to being taken to your hospital room.

Good luck with your surgery. You will be really glad you did this.

Hi there. I was told the doctor has to take down my hernia repair for the surgery. Then, come back and repair it again after the surgery. Was that the case with you?
