    Resleeve

I would go see another doctor!

    Bladder

I experienced the same thing and I ended up with a kidney infection. Antibiotics cleared it right up.

Overnight bag? What did you pack?

Chapstick, slippers, hand cream. My skin dried out pretty good in the 24hours I was there and they make you walk every hour so my slippers were handy.
  4. i am 9 weeks out and still do 2-3 of the costco Protein shakes. Its just too easy to drink them and I don't have to think about what I need to pack for breakfast and lunch when leaving for work.
  5. I am only 9 weeks out of surgery, I am feeling great however for the past 3 weeks I have stalled. I have gained a pound, lost a pound, for 3 WEEKS!!! I am eating my 'soft' foods, getting in my Proteins, my Water, upp'd my exercise (walking) and still no change. I know all about the 3 week stall, that lasted about 6 days for me but not this 9 week stall. It's so frustrating and I feel like I am already a failure ..... anyone else experienced this?

    Energy????

Took me about 4 weeks, but agree, the more you move the better you feel. I still need my 9 hrs sleep tho. That is the best thing so far from this surgery.... Sleep. I used to suffer sleepless nights all the time and at best got 6hrs. Now I get 9-10 hrs of beautiful sleep.

    FRUSTRATED ....... stall

My daily routine is pretty much the same. Egg beater for breakfast with protein shake (costco Premier shake) about an hour later. 100 calorie yogurt and laughing cow cheese at lunch and another protein shake an hour later. 100 calorie progreso soup for dinner and either apple sauce or sf Popsicle or protein drink after dinner. Seriously I eat pretty much the same thing day in, day out. Only difference is I sometimes sub the yogurt for a boiled egg. I feel like I am eating all day!

    Rash?

Doc says it is some form of allergic reaction but is unable to prescribe me any steroidal treatment as it will be too harsh on my new stomach. Hope it just goes away on its own.

    Rash?

This may have nothing to do with my sleeve surgery but thought I would throw it out there. I was sleeved Feb 10 and for the past few weeks have noticed a red rash developing on my neck. Never had it before. It gets red, hot and itchy. Usually a hot shower makes it go away. Last week I had an itchy eye and for the past 3 days the top eyelid is swollen, almost to the point of swollen shut. Allergy pills etc don't help. I have an appointment with my doc but just curious to see if anyone has experienced this. Wondering if its something to do with me not getting the same nutrients that I was consuming in my previous life. Thoughts?

    Out of pocket cost

Hospital fee, anesthesia and surgeon fee totaled about $20k for me. Those that have insurance that covers this surgery are very lucky!
  13. I'm excited to finally see the Penny episode everyone talks about. TLC is running an afternoon marathon and I see Penny is on 2pm PST on DTV.
  14. Congratulations girls. You are well on your way. There will be good days and bad just like any recovery from a big surgery. The only advise I can give is drink, walk, drink, walk - the walking will help with the gas pain big time. plus, I hope they discharged you with the breathing thingy ... cant remember the name of it. I would take 10 big breathes after every walk! Continued success to you ..

    HELP wind/gurgling noises

HA! not sure about others, but that is very normal for me. Most nights when I go to bed, I lay there as quiet as a mouse and my stomach starts up. Hubby and I bust up laughing every time.

    Blender Recommendations

We have a Vitamix which we love, but after surgery my hubby purchased the Nutri Bullet. I love it. Especially for the Protein shakes, I throw everything in there and just take it with me. Its small, quieter and very easy to clean. I am 5 weeks post op and I find being on the pureed food stage that I just throw everything in there to puree it down. I even had chicken pho and pureed it. delish!! it is very easy to open a can of Soup and throw it in there and mix it up and bam, dinner is done. I need to get a little more creative and make my own soups!
  18. I was sleepy too but I am now doing a B12 shot every week. Seems to really help. Put the pep back in my step!
  19. if you had surgery in February, why are you having a kids meal ... and why is your choice a kids meal? I am totally speculating here that it was from a fast food place. I had surgery February 10 and I am only on pureed food. I was on Clear liquids for 4 weeks, 2 weeks pureed and hopefully I move onto soft foods next week and my goal is to be eating 'normal' food by week 10. I would suspect that eating normal food a few weeks after surgery is not a good thing, but one thing I know being on this site is that everyone and everyone's surgeon is different. Maybe step back and start with the basic foods again to kick start the weight loss. Make sure you are getting all your liquids, Vitamins and especially Proteins in. its hard, I sympathize with you there. I crave foods so bad still, that is just something I need to deal with. My surgeon was very honest with me and told me that I need to recognize head hunger from actual fuel hunger. You have done the hard part ... talk to someone, you are strong, you can do it. Good luck to you!
  20. I'm so happy, I just had to give an update. I am 5 weeks post op as of tomorrow and up until Saturday I was really starting to question whether or not this surgery was a good thing for me. I can now happily say it is. I woke up on Saturday feeling great! The pains, the nausea, the overall YUK feeling seemed to of vanished overnight. I was feeling so bad the week prior that I went in to see my doctor and they rushed me in for a CT scan. Turns out everything was good with the sleeve, I was taking longer to heal and that last stitch, the big one they talk about was giving me all the pain. Every time I moved, stretched, sat, stood or did anything it hurt like hell. It would literally stop me in my tracks. Turns out I also had a kidney infection so a round of antibiotics knocked that out. I kept reading peoples posts here about having patience and that everyone is different and most were feeling great by week 3. I was confused, I just seemed to be feeling worse as the weeks went on. Well I can say now, just listen to your own body! I have felt great these past 3 days, no pain, full of energy, able to get all my pills, potions and liquids in and I am starting to lose weight again. I was so happy I jumped on the scale this morning and I am down 53.5lbs from the start of my journey. I am also so happy to be off the Clear Liquids. i did that for 3 weeks pre surgery and for 4 weeks post surgery. i have completely indulged in creamy Soups, yogurt and Jello this week! Just remember if you hit a wall, slow down, listen to your own body and just be patient ...... this is a great thing we are all doing.
  21. HA! OMG, I thought it was just me, but I am now addicted to this show and I like that little Dr Know (sorry, but he is so tiny and frail looking to me) is no nonsense with these people. You can tell some of them just want the quick fix and I cant get over how much they blatantly lie about what they are eating at home.

    Drinking Sodas with sleeve?

    No bubbles allowed!
  23. Holy cow! Well done. I lost most of my weight pre surgery as I had to do clear liquids for 4 weeks before and after surgery. I'm 4 weeks out and I am already on a stall ???? my surgeon said 10lbs per month should be my goal. It's the safest way, as I don't want the saggy skin afterwards.
  24. I have been on clear liquids for 4 weeks after my surgery. Today was day one of puréed, and I ate applesauce. OMG it was the most delicious thing ever!!
