I have Cigna and after it was submitted they claimed to not have it either. I had to wait 3 weeks before they said they received it. The DR office only submitted once. So they had it the whole time. It took me 6 weeks after that to get an answer. At the same time there was someone else on her that submitted after me and got an answer in a week. I was pissed. But that Cigna for you.. I think it depends on the person. My sister and I both used the same Dr. She had a empty band and mine had 2cc in it.

You are not to young. I was 27 and had a BMI of 41. I have a family much like yours where the vast majority of the wowen in my family are obese. I refused to live like that another day. I wanted to be able to enjoy my children and was not doing that then. I was to big to get out and enjoy playing with them. Not only am I happier but I can see the differance in them from having me do more with them. I would not change it for anything else. Insurance covered mine. Good Luck...

It is like that everywhere. My sister and I used the same Dr. But she paid Cash and I had Insurance. She paid 15,000 cash and had 1 yr after care for free and Cigna paid 32,000 for mine and have to pay for all my fills. So if I had to pay 50% of that I would have been paying the same as someone paying cash.

Im still here... I don't post very often but I do get on and read everyday. I am doing great. I love my band. She has become my best friend. Always there to support me. lol... I haven't been walking much now that it is cold but I recently bought a Wii Fit. So I am hoping to get my but moving again. I had my 3rd fill last week and am having a much harder time eating what I need too. Cant get in any meat at all. Hopefully that will easy up soon.

Im am doing great... Lost 10 lbs on Pre op diet and have lost 20 since Surgery. For a total of 30 lbs gone for good... I had my first fill on Tuesday and got 3cc and had 1cc from surgery for a total of 4 cc in a 10 cc band. I am not hungry at all. I could live like this for the rest of my live. I know it will not last but it is good for now. I hope everyone is doing great and having great weight loss!!!

Cigna OAP took only 5 days, after seeing the surgeon, I got my surgery scheduled 4 weeks after my insurance approval letter was sent to me and the doctors office.

You are so lucky then. I have Cigna OAP and it took them 6 long weeks for my approval.

I want to take a cruise and not feel like the biggest one on the boat. I have always wanted to take a cruise but keep putting it off because I know how uncomfortable I would be if I was the biggest one there.

Sept 5th here too!!! I cant wait!!! Been working on this for 9 months and it is almost here!!!:biggrin:

I finally got my Approval Today!!!!!!!!! It was pending since June 25th... I have no idea what took so long but am just so exited I finaly got it!!!!! I cant wait till Monday when I can finally set my Surgery Date!!!!!! :thumbup:

OK I am just about to lose it... These people have driving me crazy... Its has been pending since the 25th of June. Well last week LBS called to get a status on in and they said the wrong office had it and they were forwarding it to the right office and was going to rush it and we would hear something in the next 72 hours. Ok fine. But then I called on Monday and they acted like it was not being rushed and said well we hae only had it since the 9th. I said no you received it on the 25th. He said but there was a glitch and the right people have only had it for a few days. Ok . Then I call yesterday and the lady said she would be done with it by today and for me to call back today. Ok.. I call today and was told she does not know why I am calling because they only received it on the 15th. WHAT... I said no you have had it for 3 weeks and if nothing else the right person has had it since last week not 2 days ago. She says well I don't know what to tell you. You can call back tomorrow. Anyone else gone through this? Why are we being givin so many differant dates as to when they received it? When I know they got it on the 25 because I called them myself and it was there and pending.

Well it been two weeks and still nothing. I talk to the case worker today who had just talk to customer Service at Cigna and she said they was putting a rush on it and we should hear something before Monday. So just a few more days to go. :smile:

Miranda....what in the hell took them so long to submit for you?!?! I realize they are busy, but is that not an important part of their job?? I have a funny feeling they are gonna get tired of hearing my pretty little voice on the telephone.... Good luck to you, please keep us updated.

I have no idea. They said it was submited two weeks ago but Cigna says they never received it. LBS resubmited this wedseday and Cigna has it now and it is pending. I am just glad it is pending now. Hopefully I will have an answer soon. I think I will call Cigna on Monday just to get an update.

It is finally pending with in Cigna as of Yesterday. So I am guessing the 30 day started yesterday. This wait is terrible. So Iwill give it a week and start calling.

Well still nothing. I called Cigna on Friday and they are saying they have not received it yet. So Lap band Solutions said if they still say that on Wedneday they will send again. Is it common for them not to receive it or is this just a way for them to stall?

I am really hoping they will be fair. I guess we all get uneasy when we are waiting for an answer. I am trying to keep myself busy for how ever long it takes to get the approval. Hopefully it won't take the whole 30 days they have.

Everything has been submited to Cigna. I am so scared it not going to get approved. I have done all there requirments but let face it It Cigna I am dealing with. So wish me luck because I think I am going to need it.

I have to do both. I know some people with other insurance have to 5 years of weight History. I called Curves today to see if they still had records from 05 but no luck she already got rid of them.

I am trying not to stress right now but I have to come up with a 24 month weight history. The only thing I have is only 16 months old. I have tried hopitals and doctor offices but all there records are from 01-02 and my weight was not high enough then. I only got above 40 in about 05. The doctor office said I could write a letter about my past weight, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone hava sample letter or a letter they wrote? Iam just not a writer and don't know what to put or how to start. Any Advice??

This worries me. I am almost done with all their requirments but I do not have the 24 month weight proof. I have one Dr's record from 2-07 and that is it. I don't see a doctor very often so the only other record I could come up with would be from when My daughter was born in 05 but I did not have a 40 bmi then maybe a 36 or so and I do not have any other weight related issues. When it was just the 12 month I was find but now I am worried I will not get approved.
