I need a GENTLE multivitamin
I think that's what I am going to end up getting. I'm pretty sure my NUT told me no flintstones.. but I feel like something is better than nothing.. and it tasted pretty darn bad throwing up the multi this morning (at work)

I need a GENTLE multivitamin
Well when it came back up the capsule had already dissolved so I think it's the contents more than the capsule. My PPI is a capsure and I don't have any issues with that. I thought about taking flint stones instead. I'm only 3 weeks out.

Anyone do outpatient surgery for VSG? How long were you in the hosp?
Surgery was around 9am. I went home at 2pm. They had me do a barium swallow to check for leaks before I left.

Not getting much in
I was provided with tons of literature. But doesn't make it any easier to get food in. I actually ate a whole banana over the course of an hour or so and was pretty proud of myself. My surgery date was on 3/25

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I had a 1 week follow up and thought things would get better once I was able to go to full liquids. Then I found that my tummy just isn't handling milk or maybe it's the sweetness. Either way I had another follow up today and have been advanced to puree/mashable stage. I'm going to go shopping this afternoon for food.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I was told to stay away from the Special K stuff bc of the sugar content.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
Thank you! I have my 2 week appt tomorrow and get to go to purees then. I think I'll go to the store later or tomorrow after my appt and get stuff for my pureed stage. I am an avocado fiend so I might live off that and eggs. I'll look up that person and check out their recipes. Thank you again!

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
Can you give me an idea of some of the stuff you ate on your pureed stage? That starts for me tomorrow!

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I'm still getting revolted at the thought of drinking my Protein. I'm going crazy. I don't know what it is about it. But that little lump you get in your throat when something makes you feel sick enough to throw up comes up everytime I think about a Protein shake, any kind of Soup, pudding, Jello... I won't lie. I had about 2tablespoons, if that, of mashed potatoes on Easter. They were so good and it felt good to eat something that wasn't liquid. Purees start on Wednesday.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I got some syntrax yesterday and gave the vanilla bean torte a try. I was actually able to stomach that. Got the chocolate truffle too, but I'm kind of tired of sweet stuff. I got some unflavored powder to mix in to things to help as well.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
Thank you. I know I'm not alone. This just wasn't what I had pictured. I keep telling myself that this will all pass.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
Went by vitamin shoppe and got some syntrax nectar trial pouches. Then also some unflavored powder. And a can of protein pudding.

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I haven't tried syntrax yet. Thinking of taking a trip to the Vitamin Shoppe tomorrow. I'm just so tired of sweet tasting everything. I could go so badly for a piece of chicken!

9days PostOp: Not hungry...barely eating
I'm 9 days post op. I'm in the full liquid stage. I was excited when I got to move up from Clear liquids because I thought it would help with how much I'd be able to eat. But in finding its just as bad. I can't stand Soup. And this was pre-op as well. Still can't. I've tried so many different kinds. I just can't stand it. Protein shakes make me nauseous to even think about it. I'm going crazy. I'm basically only getting in Water. Who else was like this? I'm depressed cause I feel like I'm failing by not getting in my protein. I crave real food so badly. Sigh...

There is this guy that works on my building
In my office there are two large men that are affected by their weight that they have to use CPAPs. They know losing weight will resolve this issue. And they know that WLS is an option. Both have said that they don't want to. This man very well may be aware and just doesn't want to make that step. I'd say you can start a conversation with him about something non WLS. And if he brings up the fact that he's noticed you've lost a lot and wants to know what you did then you can bring it up. And if he asks more questions even better. But if he doesn't don't push it. WLS is not the answer for every overweight person.

Perfectly Imperfect: Ashley's VSG Story
Ahhhh! I'm going crazy! I'm so tired of drinking my protein! I want eggs or chicken or jerkey or bacon or SOMETHING. So tired of sweet stuff. Just gonna keep focusing on getting in my Water so I can not be dehydrated. And get in calories from yogurt, pudding, Soup. I really need something that needs to be chewed! Gonna keep on though. I want my tummy to heal right.

My Gastric Sleeve Story
I wouldn't say what you're going through is normal. Everything you're describing is pointing to low water intake. How much water are you drinking each day?

Concerned about calories.. 8 Days Post Op
Where's your protein? You're going to be consuming very low calories right out of surgery, but you need to be getting protein in.

QUESTIONS...
Dehydration. You need to be getting at least 40oz in. I know it's hard. I'm one week post op and I'm constantly sipping to get in my water.

Perfectly Imperfect: Ashley's VSG Story
1 Week Post-Op Update: I had my first post op appointment today. From the start of my pre-op diet to today (3 weeks) I am down 29lbs! They checked out my incisions, and asked how I have been doing getting in my Protein and Water. Answer? Not great. I feel like I'm sipping constantly and still can't get in 40oz of water. They cleared me for Full liquids and when I got home I had a pudding cup (well half of one) and it was amazing! Really working to get in at least 40oz of water. I'm worried about how I will manage this once I go back to work.

Stress test :(
I was told during my stress test that they aren't allowed to tell you during the test whether or not you have failed. That a doctor will call you if there was anything wrong. And that no news is good news.
