Ive been bouncing up and down 1kg for the last 4 weeks.. Im going nuts. Im not eating a lot and nor am i exercising to the levels i was prior to working. I have had significant changes going on in my life over the last 4 weeks.. Started a new job, had a car accident - both of these have forced my timing of stuff to be all over the place. I hopefully get my car back in the nxt couple of days and that will allow me to have regular starting times at work to allow me to come home early enough to give me time to fit in some exercises! I need to get a good routine going on in my life lol. Im just a mess at the moment :/
  2. I went to see my surgeon today for my 7 month check up, and all was well, he was very happy with my progress, then just as we were starting to discuss the next appointment, he dropped a bomb on me! I met my surgeon back in 2009, he performed both lap band and vertical sleeve on me and we have very good solid professional relationship. Well today he caught me off guard and told me he was retiring next month and that he is passing me onto another very reputable surgeon who assisted him with my sleeve surgery last year. Whilst i know i will be in very good hands, i feel a little lost as i just wasn't prepared for this. I know i just need to suck it up and count my lucky stars that he has referred me onto a reputable surgeon. I dunno maybe i need a few days to absorb this change. Sorry for the rambling, i just needed to air my thoughts.
  3. Thank you to all of you, i appreciate everything you have all said. Yes i know i am very fortunate to have had such an amazing relationship with my soon to be retired surgeon. I guess i was just being quite selfish, didn't really consider that this man has been on call 6 to 7 days a week performing an array of gastro-intestinal surgeries for well over 40 years saving peoples lives. Sometimes i just need a lil kick up the backside to stop and look at the situation from the other side. He did say he wanted to leave on his terms not WHEN or IF something went wrong. So i applaud his courage and hope that he has an amazing retirement. I have been in contact with the new guys office and have made my appointment for three months time as i was instructed to do. I have to pay for an initial consult then every other visit is free. Im quite happy with that.

    Surgery with spouse

Only issue is getting around, i had to stay away from driving and lifting things for 5 weeks after the surgery. Might pay to ask about that with your surgeon.

    Do not compare me..!

Oh my goodness this puss ridden maggot needs to go! Actually this could easily be classified as harassment/bullying. I would ask her to join you in a quiet room and then proceed to let her know in a really sweet voice that while you appreciate what her cousin has achieved that she has to realise that everyones journey is different and advise her that she has offended you with what she has done. Then proceed to tell her should she continue to compare you out aloud in public again that you will approach your HR dept and will report her. That should send her packing darkies . if your not sure what i mean here, lol i really don't think she will ever mention anything of the like out in public again.
  7. Hi Richard the 5 day pouch test is for all weight loss surgery patients - Lapband, bypass and vertical sleeve. Link to the site is here where it explains what you need to do is here: http://5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html I also purchased the ebook from amazon just in case the web site disappeared as i had read this happening to a number of people and those that tried the 5 day pouch test all started seeing movement with weight loss. The ebook was around $10-11.
  8. Having WLS is a tool that you have to work with for the rest of your life, not just for a year or two. Follow your doctor/nutritionists plan, and you should be ok.

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Congrats to you all well done ???? im still chipping away at the weight loss have a fair few pounds to go till i hit goal. So awesome to see you guys reaching new heights with your weight loss journeys xox
  10. Just a suggestion, have you tried going back to basics? Ie tried the 5 day pouch test? Wishing you all the best with your weight loss journey xox
  11. No i expected this to be something i had to work with. I watched a tonne if videos and lurked a bit on online forums and general consensus was that this operation was a tool to help you lose weight not a miracle cure. So it has met my expectations.
  12. You all look amazing! Well done, keep up the great work!! ????
  13. These boards are for everyone, we have some pixelated warriors that can be quite snarky - i definitely agree with you there, but you also need to either place them on ignore or learn how to deal with them, if they get out of hand report them. Don't let them stop you from getting what it was that you were seeking from this place! Its really unfortunate that you seem to have crossed paths with these asshats, there are some really wonderful people on this site all very willing to give their support where they can. Wish you all the best with your weight loss journey xox

    Memorial Day Challenge!

262 this morning ???? going backwards. Have a good week everyone.
  15. I weigh my self every morning.. I wish i could break this terrible obsession as it plays on my mind all day every day. In all honesty, i guess I'm so afraid to put all this weight back on, that i feel some strange comfort in being able to control it by weighing daily.
  16. Im 7 months out and can eat about 3/4 of a cup of food. I eat my protein first then any veggies / quinoa. Some days, i dont know why this is, i just cant eat even a 1/4 cup of food for the whole day! ????. ill be seeing my surgeon in a few weeks ill ask him and see if he knows whats going on, i suspect my GERD may have something to do with this /shrug.

    Okay I need some reassurance

Dont give up.. Just follow the plan and it will change...just have to be patient, only your body will let that weight to come off when its ready to finally let it go! This is imo the most mind effing time through this whole process????. I too have a shit load more to lose, we just have to stick to the plan and take it one day at a time Wish you all the best on your weight loss journey xox.

    Blender Blues!

Another suggestion is to make the shake the night before and leave it in the fridge. By the time you have it in the morning any froth will gave dissipated and maybe you might have some powder formed on the bottom of you shaker etc but all you need to do is grab a spoon and give it a small quick stir.. Voila! Froth-less shake . I do this every night, as i too hate the froth!

    Jealous Spouse

@@emma4884 thanks, that makes sense now, i was quite confused seeing others responding the way they had!
  21. Im kind of lucky, i just started a new job and no one has any idea that i had WLS so i dont have to be constantly reminded about it. However, whenever i meet up with my old colleagues, they are all fully aware that i had the surgery, only one lady always asks how much ive lost, i know she is genuinely happy for me, she has been a very good supportive friend and im not afraid to share my info with her.

Hi jessica, welcome, yes i had problems 3 months after my surgery. Woke up with extreme nausea, was rushed to hospital that evening, 2 days later gall bladder was removed. Recovery was 6 weeks. I had to get it removed as the stones had stuck to the gall bladder wall and had infected my gall bladder. Im living an absolute normal life without it, im so glad its out! Best of luck with yours
