You're in my prayers! You will be just fine. And congrats on your procedure!

I was sleeved February 18th. Would LOVE to join the Facebook group. But nobody knows about my procedure. If I join the group, will it show any activity on my facebook page? I don't want anyone to know just yet. Especially since I got a lot of negative responses when I first told my friends and family about it.

Same here as jenbaby. I was on a 10 day pre op diet and was constantly hungry. But now, 2 days post op, food is the last thing on my mind.

Welcome to the sleevers club!! I just had my sleeve done on February 18th. Was uncomfortable at first. But slowly getting better over time.

@Tab2015.... Congrat's!!! Good luck! Can't wait to meet Dr Ortiz on March 2
@@thick2thin I've heard people use the gas x strips for the gas... I am a nurse and don't know of anything that comes as a gel... I do expect to go to a pharmacy in Tijuana and pick up some meds... nausea, pain and antibiotics.... and some prilosec too.
Thanks! Yeh, I brought a pack of the gas x strips with me down here. It has helped tremendously! So far, that's all I'm taking, along with my prescribed pain medication. I've decided to skip the nausea gel entirely since it's very difficult for me to get down.

Hey everyone. Just a quick update. I am 2 days post op. Currently in my hotel room in Tijuana. I'm not in any pain. However, I am a little uncomfortable due to a lot of gas! I'm also having a bit of trouble with nausea. But it's not as bad as I expected. I can currently have sips of Gatorade and sugarfree Popsicles and of course ice chips. And starting in a couple days, I can add chicken broth. I fly back home tomorrow morning. Hoping everything goes smoothly.
I do have a question, for everyone who has had their procedure in Mexico, did you get prescribed a gel like medicine that's supposed to help with nausea? It's literally a jelly creamy like thing that you're supposed to take by mouth every 8 hours and it's to help with the nausea. For some reason, I cannot get it down. Just putting it close to my mouth makes me gag really bad. So I have skipped it for now. Will try again in a couple hours.

I was sleeved yesterday. Jenbaby75 is sooo right, gas pain is no joke. I was initially in a lot of pain and was constantly gagging yesterday right after surgery. I'm doing much better today. No more gagging and pain has decreased.
Starting weight: 226
Weight right before surgery: 210

I was sleeved yesterday morning in Tijuana. I'm currently in the recovery room. My initial weight was 226. And when they weighed me yesterday before my sleeve, I weighed in at 210. So pretty much, in the 10 day pre op liquid diet, I lost 16 pounds. I was in a lot of pain yesterday and was constantly gagging. Today, there's been no more gagging and very little pain! I can walked around with ease. My mouth and throat has been super dry since I woke up from the surgery yesterday, but finally, they have me some ice chips. And boy I could never have been so thankful!
Ps: as they were pushing me out of surgery room into my recovery room, I noticed a lady sitting in the lobby of the "obesity goodbye center" today. I was wondering of any of you lovely ladies on here in that lady?? I came to Tijuana by myself so I'm just looking for some company.

Good morning everyone! So I'm laying here on my hospital bed. 1 day post surgery. I was in a lot of pain yesterday. And constantly felt like I have to throw up. But today has been much much much better! Must I add, dr verboonen and dr Cortez and his team are amazing! Especially Javier, he's one of the nurses here. Before my journey through all this, I weighed 226. When they weighed me yesterday right before, I weight 210. Which means I lost 16lbs during my 10 days of the liquid diet!! I am hoping to go to the hotel room soon because I would LOVE to bath. Lol. I wish all you February 19thers best of luck!!!

Ashley, thank you!! Dr. Verboonen is my destination today! I'm getting more and more nervous by the minute. Currently in Pheonix waiting to board my connecting flight to San Diego. Good luck to you tomorrow!! Who knows, we may bump into each other at the hospital. ????

I am scheduled for the 18th too. I didn't cheat til today but am worried with it being so close to the surgery date. Surely my liver has shrunk. I've lost 10 pounds since the 3rd. Figured it would be more but am happy with 10!
Tomorrow!!! Where are you having your surgery?? I'm flying out early tomorrow morning and having my surgery in Tijuana. Keep me posted on your journey! We can be sleeve twins! Lol

Thank you! You too. Just getting ready packing phone service land last minute things for flight and post op diet so I don't have to run around when I first get back...
I'm on the same boat as you! Lol. Just getting some last minute things ready. I fly out first thing tomorrow morning and then having my surgery! So excited and nervous at the same time.

I had my surgery yesterday. I found out that I had a hernia that they removed during surgery. I'm feeling pretty good today no nausea, and I am able to drink fluids pretty easily. I'm much more sore than I'd thought I'd be. I'm so relieved that the surgery is over and my new life is beginning!
Girl, congratulation!! Glad to know you've had your surgery and your well. Now your really journey begins. Keep up posted on your recovery and progress!

Monday is coming up so fast. Finished my last day of work. Today, I think I need to finish a bunch of house cleaning, make a shopping trip for last minute things, and I probably should start packing. So nervous!!!!
I've also suffered from some last minute doubts- mostly fueled by the liquid diet weight loss. Between my own dieting and the liquid dieting, I'm down 30 pounds. I'm starting to look and feel good, and people are noticing. When I tell them I'm having WLS, they're mostly shocked. That hasn't helped. Thankfully, my lovely family has kept me focused and reminded me how many times I've done this yoyo.
Melanie, good luck!! You'll do great! And keep us posted on your surgery and progress. I'm flying out to Tijuana on the 18th for mine.

Thank you all so much for all the love and support! The pain isn't bad at all. I'm 2 days post op and really, I just feel like I did a hundred sit ups. That's all. Now, the gas was pretty bad until I started to take the gas x strips. It's much better now.
