Its Thursday here
-
I have been walking every morning about 3 1/2 - 4 miles for 7 weeks (except Saturday or Sunday). In the afternoon I alternate between a Barbell Strength class at the gym and riding my bike 14 miles.
I'm finding that during my afternoon workout I seem to run out of energy while riding or lifting. Do any of you have experience with this? Did you take any supplements or energy boosters?
I'm about 9 weeks out.
I've lost 50lbs. (Im currently 265)
I take in about 2 Protein shakes a day + eating chicken or fish.
Thanks in advance.

Starting 1 week after surgery I started walking every day. Now I walk 3 1/2 miles every morning in an hour and I either do weights at the gym or riding my mountain bike on alternating days.
Monday - 3 1/2 miles walk and 14 mile bike ride
Tuesday - 3 1/2 miles walk and Barbell Strength class at gym for 60 minutes
Wednesday - 3 1/2 miles walk and 14 mile bike ride
Thursday - 3 1/2 miles walk and Barbell Strength class at gym
Friday - 3 1/2 miles walk and 14 mile bike ride
Saturday - rest
Sunday - 3 1/2 miles walk and Barbell Strength class at gym
My weight seems to have stalled at the same weight but I am still losing inches and I have incredible energy.

I tell people. Im hoping someone else is on the fence or wants to know about it so I can help them. That's what happened to me. I was discussing a friends surgery and the issues of being fat and she really helped me make a decision. If I had not known she did it I would never have asked and would not be where I sit today.

I was nervous about the catheter before hand as well. Turns out it was a good thing. They put it in during surgery so I wasn't really present. After the surgery for the 20 hours I was in the hospital I didn't have to worry about getting up to pee. It was a bit painful to move around a lot and because of the catheter I didn't have to worry. When she pulled it out I was probably more worried about a hot nurses hand on my piece than what it felt like coming out. It did not hurt coming out, I only felt a little pressure. Hope this helps.

You are on the home stretch. I stayed out of restaurants and away from people who have food lol.
This is also good practice for the next 2 weeks starting this Friday when I go in for my surgery.

Update: first four days were the worst. Day 5 started to get much easier. Now on day 10 and this is easy. I go through moments of cravings but do whatever I have to do to get through them. I was told a craving only lasts 20 minutes and to be busy drinking Water or do something for that 20 minutes and so far it has worked. 10 days no cheating.

I hope so because I have been.

Thank you everyone for your strength and experience. My headaches are getting better and the cravings have subsidied. I did my Pre-op appt at the hospital and paid for my stay and this all became very real.

Thank you Lester I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 8lbs. Definitely a moral booster. Thanks

Sorry for the multi posts. I hate my Ipad...

I'm on day 2 of an 11 day liquid diet and all I want to do is cheat and eat something. Today I stayed in bed for most of the afternoon with a headache just wanting to sleep through the food cravings. I just keep thinking that if I do as I'm told my surgery will go well.

Mine is on Feb. 20th and I have so many mixed emotions. I'm excited to finally get my weight under control. I'm not looking forward to a liquid diet for the next month (2 weeks before and 2 weeks after). I'm going to miss binge eating if I'm honest. i also have a fear that somehow I will screw this up and not lose the weight or gain it back.
i know that I just have to trust the process and do what I'm told.

I feel the same. Started my pre-op diet today.

Thank you AngelaE! That makes total sense. I take in very few calories and the good Fiber calories from a fruit smoothy might help. I will start tracking my calories just to see if I am getting enough.
