What Do You Do Now Instead of Eating????
juliek replied to Teresita's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Shopping! I am a major shopaholic - funny b/c my surgeon just mentioned the other day that I always look like a bag lady when I come to see her (I have to take a train to NYC to see her, she is in uptown Manhattan, and I usually have a hour or two to kill b/f my appt - LOL) but she was glad that I found something to replace my food habits. Needless to say my DH isn't so happy with my new habit, but he does like he new me, so he doesn't grumble too much. -
Forbidden Foods (or ones that make you hurt)

Eggs, bread, pizza and hotdogs are all bad for me as far as causing pain and pb's - Let me tell you it will be one long cold day you know where before I try pizza again. Simply not worth it. -
Kellie, you look amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I can't wait for my turn!

Excellent!

I had it done as well, same thing - making sure the stomach and esophagus are healthy.
-
What an excellent idea! I need to buy some inspiration pants because I think I wore a size 10 when I was like 3 years old - LOL!
-
I just hit 100 lbs lost! YEEHAA!!!!
-
OH man! So some people have stomach pains, then they should not take it. It totally works for me. NutriSweet gives me migraines, so that is out. I need my splenda!
-
I would not even consider RYN - Lap Band is the right thing for me. Good luck with your decision.

Congrats Jess! Can't wait to see the new bod!
-
I started at a 32/34 and would LOVE to be a 10/12 - I am currently 22/24!
-
Oh no, sorry to hear that! I have high blood pressure, but comes down nicely with meds. Good luck

Oy, the visual - ROTF - this is just too funny!

I had 2 weeks off and that worked out well for me. The first week I was pretty miserable and the 2nd was very tired so I was glad to have the 2 weeks off.

Not a silly question - Congrats on your surgery date! I haven't noticed being tighter in the morning, but I know several people have. I generally don't eat as soon as I get up, usually a couple of hours later, so that may be why. I myself personally can't tolerate eggs at all and know several others with that experience. You will probably be fine as long as you are eating band friendly food. Good luck!

I haven't read any of the books you have (but I am certainly going to check them out) however, I have read "Weightloss Surgeries for Dummies" (my surgeon co-wrote) and have recommended that to several people. It does discuss all the surgical options available, has great ideas for aftercare and some yummy receipes.

Kelly, you look amazing! Congrats again! Good on ya!

Wow, that is so great to hear! Keep up the great work, and thanks for making me smile

That is great, good for you!

Excellent! Size 8, that is just awesome. My dream size is a 10/12

Congratulations on being newly banded! It is very exciting, good luck on your new journey. Post op, I did liquids for a few days - chicken broth, liquid protien, Jello, stuff like that, then on to softs (or mushies as they call them here) - Soups, scrambled eggs, cheese, cream of wheat, stuff like that. Then mostly normal foods, avoiding breads, pasta's rice.
-
Wow, everyone looks great! Nice that you are able to get together and support each other!

Oh I bet that is a big relief off your mind - Welcome her to bandland for us. Glad everything went well.
