    Alcohol

I drink red wine at home. When out, I'll order a shot of vodka, a glass of ice water, and I'll add my own Lemonade Mio to it. Delish!

    alcohol

I am four months out and I have a glass of red wine almost every night. My tolerance has not changed, nor have I suffered any ill effects from the alcohol. I do make sure to include the glass in my daily calorie tally. I have a few other friends who have had VSG, and they too enjoy a regular glass of wine.
  7. I've been gaining and losing the same pound for two weeks now, and am guessing this is the 3 month stall. What I'd like to know is how many of you experienced the 3 month stall, and how long you were stalled for. Thanks!

    Embrace the Stall

I'm not bemoaning the stall; I know it's part of the journey. HOWEVER, I would like to know from others at what point they stalled and how long their stalls lasted. And yes, I'm aware that everyone is different, but it's helpful to me to hear about the experiences of others.

    National Cheese Burger Day

That's not exactly a holiday, nor is free Slurpee day or free Ben & Jerry's day. The word "National" preceding the name of a food item does not a holiday make.

    Runners

I hit the treadmill. I walk for a minute, then start running. I run until I can't run anymore, then I walk. After a couple of minutes of walking, I start running again. I'm finding that the running stretches are getting longer, and the walking stretches shorter. Tuesday, I ran .75 mile, walked .25 mile, ran .6 mile, walked .2 mile, ran .7 mile, walked .15 mile, ran .75 mile. Good luck!

    What's For Dinner?

I'm hitting up the market today, and am feeling completely uninspired. Looking for ideas - preferably those with less than a handful of ingredients and simple enough for a horrible cook to prepare. In return, I'll send so much good karma your way, you'll probably win the lottery (don't hold me to that)!

    Sleeve Capacity

I'm 10 weeks out and have had a pretty easy time of it from the start, sleeve-wise. I'm currently eating about 950 calories/day without any issues. . I can eat any kinds of Protein or vegetables. I have been measuring/weighing *almost* everything that I'm eating and have been trying to keep my portions small, making sure that my Proteins are all under 3 ounces. When I can't weigh my food I err on the side of caution and decrease my portion size. Yesterday, I baked and ate a Perdue frozen chicken breast, but forgot to weigh it. I checked the packaging after and learned that the breast was 4 ounces. I'm kind of freaked out that I was able to get 4 ounces of solid protein at 10 weeks out, without my sleeve offering so much as much as a hiccup/burp/gurgle. Honestly, I could have easily had another ounce of that chicken, if I'd wanted to. I'm seeing my doc on Friday and will ask her, but I feel like she gave me a larger sleeve than most, and I'm anticipating her telling me that it's normal. But, in that I've been struggling to lose 1-2 pounds a week through diet and exercise, I'm a bit annoyed at the idea that my tummy may not be as tiny as I need for it to be, especially if it's only going to increase in size as time goes by. Not sure there's a question in there, but I'm hoping someone has had a similar experience and can make me feel like I didn't have this surgery for nothing. Thanks for letting me vent.
  15. Around the 6 week mark, my doc had me increase my calories to 1000/day. I'm at 10 weeks now, and am still keeping to that.

Personal Style -- How will I dress as a thin woman?

@@Heyjude887 I'm a GwynnieBee subscriber. If you want to shoot me your email, I can send you an invite. I believe it gives you a free month to try the service out, so be sure to choose at least 3 items/month (you can always change that to less after the free 30 days are up)>

A tip for everyone from my Fashionista friend (who was an Editor at Elle): Bootcut jeans are in, skinnies are out.

    Alcoholic beverages

Last weekend, I had a big pint glass of water, a shot of Absolut and a healthy squirt of Lemonade Mio. Twas divine.
  20. I was thinking of upping my carbs as well. I'm getting about 25 carbs/day, but have other WLS friends who have been instructed to get at least 50g a day.

    Abdominal Support

I was put in an abdominal binder immediately after surgery. Some surgeons don't use them, but I'm sure the hospital will give you one if you ask for it.
  23. I cannot imagine a world without red wine. I've given up smoking and sugar and starches, but I will allow myself a glass of wine once or twice a week.

    June 2015 sleevers

At 6 weeks, my doc moved me from 700 calories to 1000 a day. I usually get around 900, pretty easily. Protein shake for breakfast, chicken and green veggies for lunch with a piece of cheese, yogurt for a snack, meat and veg for dinner and then hot tea with cream for evening snack. It all adds up to roughly 900/day.

Can it really be this easy?

I had a similar experience. I've had a very easy time of it. No gas pains after surgery, stopped the pain meds on day 2, haven't had any issues at all eating or drinking. I'm at 8 weeks and have been eating approximately veggies and beef since week 5, with no problems. Can eat about 4-5 oz and can drink normally.
