  1. I am so sorry to hear this devestating news. Keep your water nearby and force those protein shakes. Preferably the pre-mixed kind. Again, I am so very sorry. Share quality time while you can!
  2. Your BP is so low the doctor is concerned!
  3. I was told "hunger" usually is a sign of dehydration and/or low protein. I have a hard time keeping both those up, but I know if I think I might be "hungry," I drink lots of water!

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

5'7"ish...starting weight 269. Goal weight 169 (was 170, but I wanted the 100!) Currently 163. Fitting between 12 and 14 Jean. But I look smaller (or so they tell me...) I don't want to lose more, but I am having a hard time remembering to eat, especially when stressed. What a change! Before, I binged when I was stressed!

    stretching the pouch!

I didn't even think about it the other day. We had a root beer float party, and I dug right in, forgetting about the carbonation. I didn't drink any more after I realized it, but I did have a stomach ache. BTW, I am 6 lbs. under goal, and am trying to figure out a way to STOP losing. I don't do many artificial sugar snacks.

When did you buy new clothes?

Resale, resale, resale! I have gone from 24s to 12s. Every couple of weeks, drawers emptied, "new" clothes in.

    Multi chewable vitamin

Oh geez! Watch out for the iron supplements! Constipation is such an issue, and iron makes it worse!

    Last 10 pounds

No. But everything dropped. I thought, "Oh how lucky I am! I got away with little skin sagging." Nope.

    Psychotropic meds

I think some of my depression/anxiety was due to carb withdrawal. I would ABSOLUTELY not let this stop you. I had NO problems with my meds after surgery. I take my mental health very seriously, so I can totally understand your fear.
  11. Okay. I am 2 lbs below goal. Now I wonder how I figure out how to maintain? I am ready to schedule an appointment with my NUT, but in the meantime...Do I have to pick and chose what to eat, and see how I react? Maintenance has always been my challenge. This is scary territory. Any advice on how I start? I am getting a little frustrated that the clothes I had hoped to wear a while are starting to get too loose! Thanks!
  12. And I thought you were going to share something "Juicy!" Thanks so much for sharing, Elode! I am exactly where you are! I reached goal last week! I have officially lost 100 lbs! It is so damn unbelievable, isn't it? I went to a Greek Festival yesterday that I go to every year. Most people didn't recognize me, and I spent the day reintroducing myself! Go out and Celebrate at Goodwill! :0)

    Swimsuit Shock

I am part of the Saggy Thigh Club as well!
  14. I am seven months out and it has FINALLY subsided. It started at about 4 weeks for me. My husband (and our drains!) are glad that it has started to subside. My hair is definitely thinner. Luckily I have curly hair, so it disguises it. It is what it is....

    Alcoholic beverages

My surgeon said he wouldn't recommend any alcohol because of co-addictions. IF I did decide to drink, he said to drink at home. You don't know how it will affect you, but, more often than not, you become an extreme "cheap date."
  16. Straws. Surgeon, Nurse, and Nutritionist argue this point. I am pro straws. I have attempted carbonation, but it never turns out well, so I mostly leave it alone. Waiting 5 minutes between supplements. Hello??? There are 5 of them. 25 minutes two times a day? I don't think so...

    face lift - "funny" realizations!

How very exciting! I want to see/feel my cheekbones! Actually I do see them, but all of the loose skin as well. Good for you! Can't wait to see the pictures!
  18. Ladies! You are all much stronger than me! Maybe an age difference?? I took 6 weeks in February and March. I wouldn't have dreamed of going back after 2 weeks. I was barely consuming anything, and was so very tired! I honestly wouldn't know how I would have felt at the beginning of the year. I am sure you will do just fine. Know your limitations!
  19. Mine stayed red for weeks. It turns out that I was allergic to the surgical tape. It got better, but not as fast as I would have liked it to. No bikinis or bare mid-drifts to worry about, so no worries.
  20. Chipoltle kids meal with chicken, black Beans, and veggies Wendy's kids meal chicken wrap, don't eat the wrap. Get apples. Save milk for later. Luna Grill: Kids meal, all salad, no starch - grilled chicken kabob and gyros are good. 1/2 salads (Wendy's has 1/2 sizes) Deli counter at grocery store. Order 1/8 lb of meat of your choice thinly sliced, eat as you shop. Sometimes I ask for a few slices of meat, and a few slices of cheese.

    Tiny tummy, the dictator

Tiny tummy: I told you not to eat the salad first. Me: I wanted the healthy greens. TT: Ha, ha, now you have no room for Protein. Now you will feel guilty about not getting your protein in. Colon: Hey, I need those greens!

    Adjusting Goals

It is a bitter pill to swallow, isn't it? I have learned, for myself, it isn't a number, but how you feel. A lot of "professionals" have set my goal much lower than I would. I am 5'7" and am currently 170. I feel and look great. I am wearing between a 14 and 16 (no W!) Most people think I am a 12. Point is, on the BMI I am still listed as "overweight," and I am fine with that. Most will acknowledge that the BMI is flawed, at best. Congratulations on making so much progress! You are an inspiration! I don't like going to the gym either. Currently I am incapacitated, and wishing I could exercise...go figure....

    Labor Day Challenge!

GOALLLLLL!!!! Actually I have revised it to 169 so I can hit the 100 lost mark. 170 as of today. Thanks to all that took part in this!

    Cramps... No ibuprofen

@@Inner Surfer Girl I agree with you on always checking with your surgeon. However, when I was doing my due diligence research before the surgery, I found this information many times. I often wonder on that disparity.
