Three week post op question
Jazmundo replied to amyecpa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh and yes, for one week all I could drink was 20oz of fluid, I was severely depleted. I had to go to the er for iv fluids and electrolytes. Also, they said if over the weekend I couldn't get anything down, I get a feeding tube on Tuesday. I have a kink in my sleeve from inflammation so I'm on string steroids in the hope that it will go down a little and I can fit more than water. Yesterday I got down one protein shake!! My goal is 2 today and 3 tomorrow. If not, feeding tube it is -
Three week post op question
Jazmundo replied to amyecpa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks post op tomorrow, suppose to start mushies too but my sleeve still can't handle full liquids. It sucks. I think we will have ups an downs for a few months before our bodies and our sleeves really get the hang of it yA know. Sorry you haven't felt well, keep your head up -
I'm 5'2, starting weight 254 and goal weight is 140

So I'm 6 days post op. I've noticed a few things. Some are common sense but when you're in recovery, they just don't click. So... I've felt semi normal about 2 days this past week. Why? I wasn't sure until I really thought about it. I am basically starving my body which includes my brain. I feel this fog that won't go away. I've noticed the days that I've consumed more calories I've felt better. So this makes me think that once I consume more calories on a daily basis I'll feel better? What have you experienced? TIA!

Awe thanks girl!!!! I'm feeling better today. I got a whole protein shake down!! -
I supposed have severe inflammation in my sleeve. I'm 12 days post op. The doc prescribed dexamethasone which is a steroid. I trust my surgeon although all I see is that steroids are bad for us fellow sleevers.. Anyone else take steroids?

Ate/ drank too much 5 days post op? Help!
Jazmundo replied to Jazmundo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon does a lot that others don't do. I can take whole pills, soft solids can start at 2 weeks, I can take ibuprofen .... It's strange and I regret my surgery. I'm so bitter right now. My sleeve has a kink, I can't eat or drink hardly anything. I had to have iv fluids today and I'm on high dose steroids to hopefully lessen the swelling. If I can't eat by Tuesday I get a feeding tube. I'm not happy about that. Sorry to be so negative but this sucks -

February 3rd Sleevers
Jazmundo replied to GEAUX SAINTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 02/02. The surgery went great and the recovery is awesome and painless. Although I can't drink more than 20oz of water a day and I can't handle anything heavier. I have severe inflammation in my sleeve and I'm currently getting iv fluids. They say it's too early to stretch it so my next option is a feeding tube... Sucky!!! -
That's awesome! I'm so super jealous.

I take bariatric advantage ... They aren't bad. Glad you're recovery is going well

Well they did a test and said its a stricture and inflammation. Unfortunately they can't dilate it because I'm barely 12 days post op and they worry that it will cause a rupture. So... I'm going to the er for iv fluids. They are going to give me strong steroids to try and decrease the swelling to see how bad the stricture is. They said the next option is a feeding tube! I told them I'd rather hold off on the feeding tube. Hopefully the steroids help a little. -

You guys are really the ones keeping me together right now. Thank you so much! I know it has to get better but right now it sucks. I'm at the surgeons office. They are going to check for a stricture. Hoping either way they find out. -

Thanks everyone. I really hope next year will be better. -
Hey everyone I am 10 days post op. I am allowed Full liquid which includes yogurt, pudding, andhot cereal and creamed soups. But I cannot eat anything! A few bites and I feel like I'm full. I can't even take my chewable vitamins without feeling very very full. Has this happened to anybody else? I feel like I'm going to be anorexic but not by choice.
-
Wow I guess it can be normal then.. I just feel like I should be able to tolerate more yA know. How far post op are you lipstick?
-
True. Although suppose to be able to drink 3 protein shakes a day and I can barely drink one. That's not right
-
For example I can't drink 1- 8 oz protein in less than 4 hours
-
Very full I mean
