I have not had a scale to weigh myself but i am sure I am progressing normally. Feeling so much better on day five than any other. It keeps getting bett;er. Was had with a get together today. Lots of yummy looking Snacks and I could neither eat or drink. But I got through it and I feel good. How is everyone else doing after surgery?

Propel water flavors are good. Hunger is absent for me. I want to eat when I smell food but I realize not that it is not hunger. My stomach doesn't even want the water or jello. Just keep working on your plan you can do this. Diet snappel, sugar free jello and popcycles, propel, bullion, some of the bariatric soups and drinks bariatricchoice.com are very good and have protein. Also diet juice. I'm told to avoid citrus while healing 3 weeks. But sounds like some Dr's approve of the infused waters. You can do this and we ate all here to help u. We are all here to help you

Surprised you can have protein shakes already. I'm clear liquids first 3 days. Glad it went well fir everyone. My first day was rough, vomit blood then they gave me stuff for nausea. 2nd day felt human got a shower and went home late in day. Doing well and sipping constantly. Walking every 30 min for 5 min. Pills kinda hurt and have to sit straight up when drinking per Dr and it helps. My surgery was Tuesday morning
  10. I read many posts that if u get Gerd with sleeve it goes away after awhile, like a phase. Also can be treated well with meds.

Well I am one week away and 8th day pre surgery diet. I have cheated with carrots and some fruit but still under 1000 cals each day and getting over 100 protein and all my water in. Lost about 10lbs. Ready ready ready.
  17. My surgeon had a great track record and is cautious. He only does it in two separate surgeries. I'd rather be safer I think. So I went with his plan. Has not had

    My biggest fear with VSG

Personally I think it is worth it because if you don't lose the 40 lbs where will you be? and if you do you are 40 lbs healthier. When you lose those first lbs it sets you up for success, you feel better, look better, want to do more for yourself. And it just might help you to lose the rest anyway, get you in the right frame of mind and with a smaller stomach that helps you to eat less. I also think with the pre surgery diet and the post surgery restrictions you get started with healthier eating and smaller amounts and it is easier to continue because you want to continue the success. I am revising from a lap band that I had great success with, if you don't consider that I was basically throwing up everything I ate all the time, and then it slipped and had to be removed. I get my sleeve a week from tomorrow. Can't wait. I was where you are and I have logged every excuse in the book. I ate everything after my band was removed and gained a good 50lbs in 2 months. Now on pre surgery diet and losing again so I feel much better. I wish you luck in whatever decision you make. I have anxiety too but that should not keep them from giving you surgery.

It also says it provides about 100 grams protein and 1000 cals a day

Nikkiblueeyes: For comparison my shake instructions are 15 grams of Protein minimum and no more than 10 grams of carbs per serving, plus my one healthy meal which is 3 oz lean cooked protein, 1 fat serving, 1 whole grain (like slice bread, Beans, or 1/2 cup cottage cheese), 1 piece fruit, 1 cup veggies. I think the carbs matter. I was given a list of appropriate Protein Shakes and the one I am having has only 4 grams carbs per serving. I guess it all depends on what your doctor says, but for comparison sake this is what I was told. Plus I am supposed to do 64 oz of Water a day. I could share the shake list with you if you want to give me an email or fb or something to send it to.
