  1. I ordered the Click in three favors. I found for my tummy it is too strong as a regular serving. I feel it tastes better and isn't rough on my tummy when I use half and mix it with vanilla sugar free almond milk. It definitely gives me a "kick"!
  2. @@songsmith thank you! I never ever would have thought there was a waist in this body. I have ALWAYS been an apple or linebacker shape. I asked my surgeon and a gfs surgeon about studies of folks who've had the surgery vs other weight loss methods and body shape. I am still looking for journal articles if anyone knows of any. Twenty-five years ago was the last time I hit "goal" after diet and serious exercising (work training academy). I was fit and toned...but no waist. Who would believe at 51, you can have an hourglass figure? I actually didn't believe it until I posted asking what my shape is...and it still took a few more weeks to sink in. Loving my sleeve, my new life AND my new body!
  3. I'm 51yo and like the leather and lace, the 50's swing dresses, skinny jeans, boot cut, soooo many things. I'm also a pack rat, hoarder and the like. So now that I have thinned so much of my home of the clutter, I don't want to fill it up with "one or two time" clothes. To help with the shopaholic feelings, I go try on a bunch of clothes, take selfies and THEN decide if I really want them. Most of the time...nope! It is soooo much fun to try on clothes I never thought would fit, look good or even wear...then be surprised. The first picture is a dress I wore to a ball in November. My former co-workers didn't recognize me. The last picture is a dress I bought five years ago and finally wore it for thanksgiving. The middle ones are things I tried on and liked, but not "enough".
  4. My kids are grown, I have grandchildren and do not want to co-parent ever again!
  5. "Aunt Flo" may not be showing up as much lately, but I have had some dozzy PMS spells. Hoping that it's about over. I've been done with it since age 22...!
  6. @@wannaBthinsoon Totally am with you on the gut thing. @sharkgirl. I bought jeggins last week and they "seemed" to fit when I got them. Wore them and they are baggy in the butt. Try smaller jeans and see if you can get ones with less spandex in them. I'm having "loving my body" time EXCEPT my gut....wtheck? I need a 12 for my waist and a 10 for my butt and thighs...arghhh!
  7. @@RILEYSMOM22 As soon as a guy starts asking sexually-charged questions in a first or second conversation it's time to drop him and block him immediately. You are looking for someone who wants you for all of you, not your assets.
  8. I did the online dating when Match was Love@@aol in the early 2000's. Went on a few dates, met one of my best friends (he married a woman off the sight and I'm auntie to their daughter). It was fun...then. Fifteen years later and I'm back in the dating pool after a five year self-imposed exile after a painful breakup. I took the time to reevaluate myself, my wants, needs and aspirations. Plus, I went back to school. Now, I'm older, much thinner, happier and have very specific things I want and don't want in a relationship. Living where I do, the dating pool is pretty slim. My wants: 1. Must be within 5 years to absolutely no more than 10 years of my age. 2. Must have gainful employment or be retired with pension, etc. 3. Have their own home, apartment, etc. 4. No young children. You'd be surprised how many 50+ men will write me who have 2,4,6,8 year olds! I raised my children and have grandchildren that age. I'm no ones weekend mama. 5. Be financially secure, I'm not saying has to be wealthy. He just can't be relying on credit cards or his mama to get by. 6. Be intelligent. Holding a conversation and having the ability to use proper grammer is a must. I have dismissed men online for writing bios where there is no capitalization or punctuation. 7.Be willing to travel. I like the beach, skiing and visiting other countries. 8. Like to snuggle, kiss and enjoy intimacy. I don't think my list is too much. Almost forgot, nosmoking, drugs or felons. (My iPad hates the app and dislikes the website lately) ,
  9. Laurie, I live in MA. Question about area, I come to NY a couple times a year, dare I ask about parking around there?
  10. Thanks @OKCPirate. After looking at your profile I need to change up some things, including pictures. I'm currently rocking a totally Angela Davis 1960's look. It's funny how when I was young I fought to wear makeup and now, I could care less most days. Going to a wedding this weekend. Should get some fun pics from that. Being versatile, I'm all about it!
  11. I used to be my father's lil half-back then I was a full-back. I was always the biggest kid in the family. For twenty years, as a firefighter, I always had broad shoulders, big arms, thick legs and calves. They served me well doing the hard stuff. I could never buy a regular blazer or button down shirt, jeans were torture and forget boots. I learned to sew because I couldn't find things that fit me well. Now it's my belly that's still giving me trouble when shopping. But I will take it versus the sixty pounds! So what shape do you see?
  12. @bellabloom. First off TINY, I'd say athletic and an inverted triangle. You look fabulous!
  13. Love that movie.... Years ago, I wanted to get a hood or clitoral piercing. The piercer asked me what mine looked like, I didn't know...had to go home and do a Kathy Bates. And all this talk of wieners makes me want to run out to Costco to get one of their fabulous huge ones....lol!
  14. http://www.match.com/Profile/Display/About/?lid=450&uid=mC7/ufusmX5vYglQvmQGtw== I need to update mine. As @@CowgirlJane said, the men in the over 50 range are something else. I do keep getting men in their late 20's and early 30's contacting me. So not feelin it!
  15. I had twins and never got any hips...love Old Navy Diva jeans, big waist and slim through the hip!
  16. Most of my life I considered myself an apple or inverted triangle. I always considered myself as large framed. Not-so-much now. It's as though this surgery brought out something different. In my best shape of my life (age 24 and my still want it to be, goal weight), I was larger framed than I am now...except this gut. I too would be at least a size smaller in pants, probably two if I got rid of this stomach. Too bad there is no such thing as spot reduce. Plastics for me!
  17. Made my night!
  18. @@Joannaharris77 I don't think you can. The best you can do is to strength train when you are able to keep the gluteus muscles in shape.
  19. Thanks for this. I've wanted a tummy tuck since I was 22 years old. Now that I'm over 50, it's boobs too. In a perfect world, I'd get a thigh lift and brachioplasty too. For now though, I'll keep working on the weight loss. I've done so much research over the years, I'll need to find new docs...lol (they have retired now!)
  20. My granddaughter was 2 years old when I had the surgery. Her and my daughter lived with me. It was hard taking care of her, I tried my best not to lift her unless absolutely necessary, which was putting her in bed occasionally and definitely not for the first few weeks. You will need help. As for someone else and stalls, I lost 8 pounds total month 3 to 6. I was frustrated as there were weeks the scale didn't move. I did notice inches, a LOT! Take your measurements. I lost my original ones when my phone was lost/stolen, but I need to do new ones. This month alone, I've lost 4+ pounds so far. All in good time.
  21. You look fabulous! I just took my granddaughter out roller skating last Saturday. It felt so good to move my body and not feel like a lump! As for more clothes, I received coupons in the mail from Bon-ton for $100 in clothes, shoes and makeup. The orange dress I bought for $11, the black skirt is pleather and has long fringe. Cost me $8.80, also picked up 3 pairs of shoes for $5.95. I keep getting coupons for $10 off $10, or $30 off $30 for Kmart or Sears. Only condition is that they can't be clearance. So, the rest of the coupons I'm getting underwear and socks for the homeless shelters. My style is still evolving...skinny jeans, wide leg, it's whatever I look in the mirror and think...Dang, look how far you've come. And "I ain't finished yet"
  22. Knee boots that have the ankle zipper were the bane of my existence! My daughter had been wearing a pair someone bought me because I barely got them on, and they wouldn't go up my calves. They do now! NO, my darling daughter, you may NOT wear them this year....! NSV! (Can I also say that I teared up, it was THAT emotional.)
  23. I call where I am right now round 2-3 of this year. The room that I took the pictures in was a bedroom, then made into my walk-in closet and is back to a spare room. The walls were lined with double clothing racks and where the mirror is, used to be floor to ceiling 6foot wide shoe shelves. The mesh crates are the remnants of it. Today a college friend moved in while she is finishing her last semester. She brought with her less than I take for an long weekend. I think she will be very good for me, as she eats clean, is pretty much a vegetarian and a minimalist. I KNOW I don't need all the stuff I have, it's finally sinking in that I'm winning this body back, pound by pound. And it is okay to let things go. It really is a new me in the mirror, inside and out!
  24. @@AvaFern Thank you, I am not quite at the point of throwing things out without the guilt. I have bought the pretzel, ate part, took it home and ate it at two more occasions, finally throwing out the last bite. It must feel so good to just "throw it out" ! I'll continue to work on it. Congrats!
  25. I have been on so many diets starting when I was 13mand the doctor told me and my mother I needed to lose 5lbs. I was 140...that was enough to solidify my dislike of my body and weight for many decades. So here I am, 51 years old and a size 10-12 (2015 standards). I spent HOURS this past weekend going through my closets, attic and basement cedar closet trying on clothes. I am a clothes junkie! I found numerous items with the tags on them. Things I had forgotten about, things that were 'just a little tight, a size maybe" . And now they are falling off. I ended up with two very large and heavy boxes of clothes to donate. I had tried selling some things online and that was a disaster. Waste of my time and effort. I found some students to give them to, it makes me feel better about the NWT items. On another note, someone posted that this year is BoHo Chic and wide leg trousers and bell-bottoms are back. Lo and behold, up in the attic, in the box marked "skinny clothes" I found bright tops, long skirts, wide leg trousers and bell-bottom jeans. It's good to be this age and not have to follow tends to a "T". Especially since I'm loving my skinny jeans and intend to continue to wear them. (Shoes and boots, all 125+ pairs is another story) The red dress is vintage and a size 17...gotta love vanity sizing! Anyone else find a treasure in the attic or back of their closet?
