  1. I cannot wait until Christmas is over. The kids are here and I had no sweets in my house because if I do, I will eat them. So tonight they wanted something sweet and it is snowing. So, we made a homemade dessert with graham cracker crust, cream cheese, whip cream, fresh cherry compote and drizzled the top with chocolate. Just what I did not need in my house. Now, I am sitting here with a full belly and racing heart. And yes....i know i could have passed but i just had a small portion and was good the rest of the day. UGH......

  2. I am excited....My sweet granddaughter's birthday is thursday, she will be 13. She has been begging for a laptop for the last 1.5 years. She is an Apple kid and those darn laptops are expensive. Well, they went on sale sunday at Best Buy. Hubby and I decided it was time so we bought her a MacBook Air. We all told her that was not going to happen. The package arrived today in the mail but we wont let her open it until thursday. She is so excited, she has called me no less than 5 times tonight. I am excited for her.

  4. Keep your fingers crossed for me....On Friday I finally had an epidural injection in my thoracic spine to try to get my mid back and rib pain to improve. This particular pain has been plagueing me for 1 1/2 years following my cervical fusion. Yesterday was the first time in 1 1/2 years that I had NO pain! Today I have pain but it is mild and totally tolerable. It takes a full week before you know the results of an epidural completely but I am so very hopeful that we finally found the cause and have treated it properly.

Praying it works! What a blessing that would be for you to have some pain free time!

  5. Hey, guess what. I'm overweight. As opposed to any degree of 'obese'. I'll take it!

  6. It's day 4 of my preop diet. I'm feeling pretty good about it today, weighed myself when I got to work today and have lost. Tuesday the 12th I had the nutrition consultation and was 343. Today 333. Had my medical clearance physical yesterday and my EGD is Monday the 19th. Things are moving along.

  7. Hit 100 pounds lost today almost two weeks before my 1 year surgiversary. So thankful and happy for everything this surgery has afforded me.

  8. I had my first taste of guacamole today, pretty sure my tastebuds had a orgasm.

LOL. I ate that as one of my first soft foods - well just mashed up avocado with some spices - but yea, it was SO good. I still eat quite a bit of avocado at 15 months post-op!

  9. Woot woot!!! I got a date - surgery 10/18/16 - loser's bench here I come (in 32 days)! :-)

  10. Cleaned my closet over the weekend to get ready for Fall. Well, now I either have to go shopping--(which I hate unless it's for fishing tackle) or I have to remain in my PJs for the winter. None, and I do mean none, of my winter clothes fit to where I would wear them outside of the house. I guess this is a NSV, but it's upsetting. I really have some beautiful Fall and Winter clothes from when I used "high end" entertain with John and his diamond jewelers' circle. How times are "achanging". Moving on isn't always all smiles and sunshine, I guess, but moving on is what I am determined to do.

Wow. That is tough - much more so than many of us. You hang on to those clothes friend and to the memories. HUGS!!

  12. Home from shoulder surgery...harder than my VSG!

      Daisee68

Ouch! I have had 4 shoulder surgeries so I feel your pain - literally! Lots of rest, LOTS of ice and do your PT faithfully! But agree it is one of the hardest surgeries to recover from. Best wishes for a quick recovery!

  13. I AM FREAKING OUT. I just got home from a loooong day of class (12 hours) and I weighed out of curiosity... and I am UNDER 200! I'm glad no one was here with me to see me breaking down and sobbing like a toddler but my goodness! I can't believe I'm here, and it actually happened! Please celebrate this moment with me! http://imgur.com/a/4RcuL

  14. Feeling excited! I just started my own consulting business and had my final interview with my first client. It went very well and most importantly I did not have to deal with them trying to reduce my rate, at least so far. Keep your fingers crossed.

  18. some time ago I had posted an NSV where a ring my husband gave me on our 10th anniversary finally fit again. Now I can wear it on the right hand. it is a thick ring (a picture in my gallery I think). 6 months ago I couldn't wear it at all. I am so pleased.

  20. Nine consecutive days of eating like a civilized loser of weight. Might this be the restart I've been flailing for?

  21. Surgery tomorrow at 8:30am. "If I die before I wake, a date with John I will surely make". I am ready...

  22. Day 3 post op. Lost of gas in my chest. Doing well on water and protein. Tummy is sore, especially around the larger incision

Day 3 is sometimes the worst (no idea why), so just hang in there. Take meds if you need to. Walk a little and rest! Sip, sip sip. I found a heating pad on my stomach helped with gas and achiness. You got this!
