Who the hell do you think you are?

Wow @@Fredbear not sure where this is coming from but you don't even state and opinion with which I can disagree. "Suck it up and put on your big girl panties" is in no way helpful or useful advice. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Puréed food stage options

@@katchee - I would think fat free would be fine. Check out Fairlife milk if you haven't yet. Readily available in most grocery stores. It is higher Protein and lower sugar. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Puréed food stage options

You are welcome! Here is a link to a thread that contains other ideas - http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/292198-staple-foods-for-puree-phase-2/
  6. 1) I am sorry this happened. I too take an antidepressant (which I had to increase after surgery) and funny enough, I was thinking just this morning on my walk how grateful I am for it and how it helps me cope. I spent a lot of years "unhappy" and not that the med makes me "happy" but it does make me emotionally "normal" (for the most part ). 2) I am pretty sure that even with my med on board that I would have ended that kind of week in tears! Wow! That is a tough week and kudos to you for just surviving it. And last but not least - You sewed that amazing dress??!! Holy cow lady!!! That is simply amazing! You are an incredible seamstress. I can't even sew a button! (No...seriously...my grandma laughs at me when I try...) I bet that girl with the cleavage is jealous of your skills (if she knew!) Hope your meds are catching up by now and that even despite that, your week holds better circumstances!

    Puréed food stage options

Ricotta Bake (http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html), fat free refried Beans with cheddar melted on top, greek yogurt with vanilla Protein powder added in, hummus, pimiento cheese, tuna salad / chicken salad (light mayo and/or greek yogurt), mashed avocado (not a lot of protein but helped me get a little "normal' food in), sugar free chocolate pudding snack with chocolate Protein Powder added in. I will come back if I think of others! Also I think there is a forum on here specifically with pureed food ideas and/or you can search "pureed" and get some more ideas. good luck!

    Yes or no?

I have used the lime version but not this one (though now I want to find it!) I found it to be a bit strong, but I also find Crystal Light strong, so I mixed it with more Water (like 24 oz or more instead of just 16 oz). Honestly I don't know why it would be an issue. Some NUTs recommend G2 and this has far less calories than that! Call your NUT if you can just to be sure.

Who the hell do you think you are?

I am so sorry this happened! Ridiculous! I was just talking to my sister-in-law yesterday who recently completed her personal training and group teaching certifications and talked about my eating, success, etc. (she is VERY supportive by the way). I was telling her how the personal trainer I had was spouting stuff they didn't know and she agreed that people in this profession should NOT be giving nutritional advice - at least without previously getting at least some nutritional advice. She has a new client who had bypass a few years ago and has gained back most of her weight so I was really stressing to her how important it was to be cautious with nutritional advice for our sort and she agreed. (I also told her to encourage the person to seek therapy which might help.) Anyway.... this person said "and tell me i was doomed to fail and this would just create more issues then i already had"??!! You need to report her to the gym (or wherever). I don't care what you are doing to lose or gain or maintain, no one in this profession should spout these words and those to whom she reports needs to be made aware before she continues to do it to others.

    Toddler Yoga Kicked My Butt

I LOVE that you did yoga with your 5 year old! I always think the idea of yoga sounds fun but the few times I have attempted it (at home), I have thought better of going out in public doing it! ???? Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Post-op diet at work

Consider going to tour car and reading while u eat then you can avoid questions. Having sad that, I ate in the lunch room and when asked how I was eating so little, I told them I had surgery. I got some of the best supporters from that conversation. I understand not everyone wants to tell people. I ate a lot if refried Beans with cheese melted on top, hummus, pimiento cheese, yogurt with Protein powder added, sugar free pudding snack with Protein Powder added, etc. That was during my mushy stage. Good luck! Remember to have Water on your desk and sip sip sip. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Let's talk girdles

I have not been but I also work from home and do not have to worry with work clothes. Doesn't seem to be much of an issue with jeans for me. Having said that, I may (fingers crossed) be getting a new office job soon and will definitely need to find something relatively comfortable to go under dress pants. There is a brand I have been looking at called Yummie By Heather which appears may be a little more comfortable than Spanx. Whatever I buy, it is likely to just be light control as I cannot handle the idea of being uncomfortable all day. Just not worth it to me to live miserably. Hoping I can find something that will just smooth things out a little and not make it wear I cannot breathe! Will be interested to see if you (or others) have something that works that I can try!
  14. I will send you a PM about mine. They are local and do all the nutritional counseling on the phone which is SO helpful!
  15. I'm a year post-op and still drink 1 Premier Protein drink everyday. I enjoy them actually and like that it helps me get to over 100g protein per day. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

  17. I am the SAME way! I still haven't posted any before and after pictures because I am just not sure I am ready to face how big I was! I think I need to dig them out though. I only kept one pair of old pants and took them out and tried them on probably 2 months ago and was astonished! I didn't want to put them on but knew I sort of needed to face it. And now I need to do the same thing with photos I think. It is hard to hear "I don't recognize you! You look fantastic" because mostly I hear "Holy cow you were HUGE before!" and I definitely lived in denial about that. BUT I know everyone means well. Maybe recognizing the life we did have will bring more joy in the life we have now? Rejoice in who you are and the hard work you have put in to this! You were still you then and you are still you now but now you have a purpose in something different you didn't have before! Didn't mean to hijack your post but just wanted to say that I think this is totally normal for all of us!! And I truly hope the denial of it our past passes!

  20. So many things but the one thing that surprised me is my ability to work outside in the yard (in Texas summer heat) and not pass out! 22. YES as long as you seek therapy and deal with the issues. I am 1 year post-op and still dealing with my addiction issues but couldn't have done it without therapy. Good for you for recognizing it is an addition and coping mechanism! Many people deny deny deny that it is (and maybe it isn't for everyone). It is normal to be second guessing yourself right now.

    "Sugar Free"

@@Shaydi.Laine - Honestly I think you aren't going to get flogged for your opinion. I think there are many here that agree in full fat choices and it seems it is starting to become more mainstream. I think the theory is that higher fat keeps you satisfied longer and with low carbs, your body will burn the fat for energy. I haven't quite embraced this lifestyle yet as it seems so counterintuitive (and frankly for me, I am more of a fat addict than carb addict so I have to be careful as it is a slippery slope) but I do think it makes sense. And it always makes sense to eat more "real" foods instead of more heavily processed. @@Kaze - I think your program may be a bit unreasonable in making those requests unless you are sticking to whole foods such as pure Protein and veggies/fruits. You do need to be a label reader (and trust me, you will become one). I would aim for lowest sugar content you can when you can. And for fat, just try to look for lean options when possible but nothing wrong with full fat cheese. (I personally use 2% cheese and 2% or skim milk just to keep calories in check.) Not sure that is helpful or not.
  24. Good for you for recognizing it! That is half the battle!
  25. Well normally I would say 2 weeks to at least get used to the new lifestyle (and at least 2 weeks of liquid diet). However, since you have had sleeve before, you know the rules and may not need the extra time to get used to it. How did you do going about after sleeve?
