  1. I am just a little over 5 weeks out from VSG today, I have been so hungry!! I feel like I could eat all day. I am doing ok-I am at 700 calories and have hit 68 grams of Protein so far. I haven't gone over 600 calories since surgery. I have also been weepy and hormonal today-FYI had a partial hysterectomy 4 years ago-it could be PMS but I have no way of tracking it. I'm just a whiny butt today!!

Thanks for listening to me whine. Just needed to get that out!!

  2. Hi June sleevers! I had my surgery June 24th. I have lost 17.9 lbs since surgery plus 20.8 during pre op diet for a total of 38.7 lbs. I am happy :)

So far everything I have tried (at soft food stage) has been fine. I am very lucky and have only vomited one time since surgery-I ate too fast and learned my lesson!

I try to start my day with a Protein shake. When I don't it's harder for me to hit my Protein goals.

    Everyone is doing so great!

  3. Hi @@chelleshocked ... it's 4 weeks post op for me and I'm also feeling good! :) I can't believe how much better -- and more "normal" -- I feel from week to week.

eggs are awesome, and so is Greek yogurt! A few days ago I made Eggface's ham, cheese, and triple onion bites (aka crustless mini quiches), and they're fab! You can substitute ingredients easily if you aren't allowed to have meat yet.

Thanks for the link, I will have to check it out!

  4. Agreed! Yes, I did have a stall, but I could tell my clothes were getting looser and looser, then BAM today I lost a couple pounds! :)

I have been back at work since 6/30. I work from home 4/5 days per week, so it hasn't been too bad. Hope it goes well for you!

  5. I'm 5'4" and I picked my goal weight of 135 out of nowhere. My surgeon never gave me one. I have a weight tracker app that set my goal at 124.7 lbs. I am exactly 0.1 lb away from that ridiculous app's goal. Sitting at 124.8 today. I was happy at 135, but my body has kept losing. I guess it will stop when it's ready, and who knows where that will be. At 8 months out now, the pace of losing has slowed considerably.

I am the same height, so that app picked the same goal weight for me! My actual goal is 150. I don't ever think I will get to the app's goal, and I am fine with that. Congrats to you! That's awesome! :)

  6. I also hiccup. I am a little over 2 weeks out. I had a soft boiled egg two days ago and I ate too fast. Out it came! First and only time so far I have vomited. Note to self: slow down! The hiccup signal has seemed to work. I can eat 1/4 - 1/2 cup food and stay satisfied for hours :) I have only lost about 9 lbs since surgery. My NUT did not give me calorie guidelines, only Protein and Water goals. I am only getting about 500 calories in a day. I'm wondering if that is enough or if I am putting my body into starvation mode?

  7. Hello everyone,

My surgery was June 24th. I was cleared for full liquids yesterday.

I am allowed all Protein Shakes, no fat yogurt, sugar free applesauce, sugar free pudding, cream Soups with no lumps, etc.

I can't seem to swallow anything thicker than my Protein shake without feeling like a lump is in my throat for hours. I had 1/4 teaspoon of the applesauce earlier and immediately got the lump and nausea. I'm not sure how anyone else does it!

Does this mean I probably just still have swelling and should stick to the shakes for now? I can swallow them just fine and fluids just fine.

I haven't called the doc because I'm not in pain, I just can't get anything that seems like "food" down.

Thanks for listening to me whine. Let me know if you experienced anything similar.
