Tonawanda here
First off, Happy Belated Birthday. I am a couple weeks older than you. Just had my sleeve in February and feeling great. I had Dr. Joseph Caruana from Synergy and the surgery was at ECMC. Everything went much better than I had thought it would. Thanks for the advice

I am so glad you could find a way around your lung issues. Amazing time we live in. You are going to do great with your weight loss. Good for you.

If I may weigh (lol) in about this when I got home from the hospital I was drinking a Premier Protein shake (30 protein) and adding a scoop of Protein Powder and anywhere from a half cup to a cup of Water and that way my morning shake was 57 Protein and I was getting in some water too. It made it a little easier for me. Got the idea when my doctor said he starts his day off with a Protein Shake and added extra water....so could some powder hurt....lol. Got my protein in every day.

I think it's a great idea to go to whatever support groups they offer, you will get a lot of answers there. Best of luck to you.

Good luck, this is where you want to ask all those questions. Wish I could help you but I go to Synergy. Hopefully someone can answer your questions. Again....Good luck. Have you got an appointment yet?

You are going to look great and because you only get married once just enjoy all of this and if the weight is meant to come off it will. Don't let that spoil this magical year.
-
I know I am only 2 weeks out and don't know many of the ups and downs of a major weight loss....can't wait to find them all out...lol. Who set your goal? Maybe your body has it's own goal and you have reached it. Do you feel good? Are you healthy? Maybe that is all that is important and you need to just go on and enjoy life and not let 10 pounds ruin all you have done. I may have to reread this when I get there....lol.
So happy for all you have done.

So glad you are home and all is well. Just keep walking and the gas will be gone in no time. Take it easy and sip sip sip.

So you called? That is the beginning and you have 7 months to get all the prep work done.
I think you will be right where you wanted to be in Nov. It may take the 7 months to get
everything done. Good for you. -
I started asking about bariatric surgery about 20 years ago and was told to wait jury was
still out. So when in Sept my doctor started talking about me taking insulin I asked again and
my doctor said jury is in and you will do well to have it. So either I have been waiting for
20+ years or 6 months...lol. Everyone else in my group is having surgery in March or May,
I slipped in earlier because someone had to cancel because I got my date 3 weeks before my
surgery. You are going to do great.

What Hospital are you going to be in? I have heard good things about Buff General, I was in ECMC, so I can tell you about my stay there. It won't be two weeks for me until Thursday. Still can't believe I had surgery 10 days ago.....is my doctor great or what....lol. I am sure Our doctors are the best.

It is so understandable that you are feeling the way you are. I know because two weeks
ago I was feeling the same way. Afterwards I knew it was fear of the unknown. Just do what
they tell you and let them know how you are doing. If you are in pain tell them. I can't tell
you enough to walk and sip your Water. Get in as much Protein as you can, I think that is why
I am healing so well.
I will be thinking of you Tuesday morning. Can't wait to hear how you are doing. -
I know exactly what you are saying. There is that first time fear of everything, I don’t know why I thought it would hurt to swallow. Then of course the nausea but I took it slow and followed Dr.’s orders and at my follow up appointment yesterday he said I was ready for soft food…bring on another fear….lol. It’s going to be a long trip but we will all do fine.

I know you are scared and nervous, so was I but I must say that the morning of the surgery I was almost calm...not sure why or how...lol. You are going to do great. Good luck

Thank you, You are going to do great. Positive thoughts and looking on the good side of this
will help you out a lot. Hard to believe that I had my surgery on Thursday. I feel great.
My biggest advise is WALK, WALK, WALK, it will get your blood flowing and your gas out. My
thoughts are with you.

Can't get started without making that first call. Go for it, I think you will be very happy.
I know it has only been 4 days but I am just thrilled. What pain there was is all but gone.
Good luck

I have heard that Buffalo General is a good hospital and you know you are going to do great. Just walk, walk, walk and pass gas from both ends and the gas pains will be gone before you know it. You will be in my thoughts.

Like most of us I did a lot of research and kept reading about walking, so when the nurse in recovery asked if wanted to take a few steps I said sure. I am so glad I did. When I got to my room I would walk as much as I could. A nurse stopped me on day 2 and said she has been watching me and knows I am going to do well because of all the walking, that made me feel great. I did have gas pains but I don’t think nearly as bad because of the walking. Good luck you are going to do great.

Thank you for the encouragement I think we all need to be here for each other. You have traveled this path and know things we will be going through. Thank you again.
