  1. Well I'm sleeved finally! About 36 hours out now. Passed the leak test and just got my drain out. Moving to hotel in about 3 hours and our driver is coming to take us to the beach and a little shopping later.

Congrats! Where did you have your procedure & who was your surgeon?

@@ronimom I had the surgery done in Tijuana with Dr.'s Cabrera and Camelo. I used Mexico Tourism Co. I had a great experience and would be happy to answer any questions you may have! I've had two girlfriends also go, I was the second of the three of us and everyone had a great experience.

  2. Good morning. 6 weeks ago tomorrow, I started a journey that would change my life... I would like to thank everyone for their support, the wonderful staff at A Lighter Me, (for which I can not say enough and highly recommend them for anyone who struggles with their weight), my friends, neighbors, co-workers and my family. Well today I am glad to announce that I have passed my first goal... As of today, I have passed my 50 pound weight loss, the half way point to my ultimate goal. I know 6 weeks is a short time to have lost so much and know that the next 50 pounds will not be as fast or easy, but I didn't decide to go through all I have been through to give up now. So thank you all.

    Amazing, congrats!!!

  3. My new goal is too start with Protein, then veggies, skip the fruit for a little bit and then see if I have room for the carb/starch that is available. I tried this with Easter dinner last night and seriously if I hadn't made myself because it tasted so good, I wouldn't have even had room for those 3 bites of mashed potatoes I had. I also know I need to up my Water intake too but sometimes it feels so hard, like I'm eating or drinking something all day and how do I have time to do anything else!?!?!

  4. I'm with the consensus here, I like the Premier Protein. chocolate is my favorite and I add SF Torani Syrup to mix it up. Peppermint, Raspberry, Peanut Butter, Salted caramel. The possibilities are endless. I also use the vanilla in my coffee in the morning. GENEPRO unflavored is good as well. I put it in my Soup when I was on the liquid diet and sometimes when I need to get a little more in for the day add it to juice, smoothies, or flavored Water. I bought several flavors of the Muscle Milk at my health food store and had to toss them all. Yuck!

  5. 6 days for me at a desk job. Had no pain whatsoever coming back. First week was definitely tired but doable. I probably would have been bored out of my mind any longer, however a midday nap during those days would have been nice! But then again I had a 3 hour time difference to overcome and my last day before work we all sprung forward so those time changes, travel across countries and recovering from surgery all played into my experience.

  6. I have had such a time since my surgery finding a Protein I could keep on my stomach. Premier is finally working and I'm starting to feeling better. Not running to the bathroom 5 minutes after drinking it and getting my Protein in. Yay. I was really starting to get worried I wasnt eating and not getting enough nutrition in.

Still my favorite too and I've tried a lot! I also have bought a couple SF Torani syrups to mix in to my chocolate premier shakes to change up the taste. I love peppermint, salted caramel and Peanut Butter in them!

  7. I have the opposite bathroom problem, oh the joys! I am getting ready to start soft foods tomorrow. Last week I enjoyed a bit of the potatoes and broccoli from my Soups, tried an egg and some refried Beans. Doing pretty well I think. It's still a learning lesson to try to figure out when I'm full. There's been a couple times that I've really not felt well after eating, and I think it's from eating too much. Even though that too much is still so small! I'm finding that if I eat very slow, take a lot of breaks, I can tell a bit better. So one trick for me is to not let myself get too hungry or I eat faster then I should. I'm down 19 lbs from my starting weight though so I'm happy with that. I see people posting double that loss but I also have to remind myself that this isn't a race, and compared to some people I don't have quite so much to lose.

@@katyh2015 Im back home which is great. I'm 6 days post op I also had my gallbladder removed, so I still feel I little sore and pain but managable, today I felt much better. I'm on liquid diet the broth is hard on me I get diarrhea but not to bad I think my stomach is readjusting. Overall I think I'm doing well . Will see if Im right in the next couple of weeks .

How you doing? Have you started the puree?

  8. Glad I found this. I am still working on getting scheduled for my gastric sleeve. My BMI is 32. I've heard over & over that ic can't be so but it is easy being under 5ft tall :-/. Any tips about post op recovery?

I had a BMI of 30 on the day of my surgery, maybe even 29 with the pre op weight loss. I was just told that it actually makes recovery easier. I am now 2+ weeks post op and feel great! My weight loss isn't as fast as some others who have more to lose, but I expected that. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady wins the race! Good luck with your decision and surgery if you choose to do so!
