    Help!

I work in a doctors office as a manager so I told the medical director what I was going to do. I kept going back and forth on whether to tell my staff or not and asked her advice. She told me to tell them because the weight I'll be losing I'll look like I have cancer and they might worry. I just thought that was an odd response

    Hurts When I Get Up

You just had abdomen surgery and it's going to hurt. Maybe you should try just taking one pain pill at night to help you get comfortable and sleep. Your body needs to heal. I'm a side sleeper to but it hurt to roll back over. I had to get used to sleeping on my back for a few nights. Now it's better and I can Kay on my side for awhile. I do take the pain meds when I need too. I was sleeved on 2/18. Good luck!
  8. I have the same feeling. I know we all want to feel better but we have to remember we just had surgery and there were several people pushing and pulling on our stomachs and even though the rest of our body feels fine we are still healing

    Scared

I would really be careful eating anything you are not supposed to before its time. Doing that is a major cause for leaks. Even if you don't notice it right away. I am a manager at a doctors office and we have several patients who ate before they were supposed to and they developed leaks. You need to give your stomach time to heal around your staples.

    Need support!

Your dad is just probably nervous for you. Is this usually the way he reacts to things the first time? Maybe when he calms down you can explain all of the research you done and have him read some information regarding the surgery. Good luck!

Is the pre op diet needed?

Just getting as healthy as you can before surgery can help with any risks associated with it. It's not easy to change eating habits but for me it would have been harder to recover from surgery and getting used to eating completely different at the same time. My surgery is scheduled or next Wednesday and as of yesterday I've lost 30 lbs. thats 30 more I won't have to lose and will be lighter for surgery
  18. I have bad arthritis in my knee which everyone knows at work because they see me struggling to walk some days. Losing weight will definitely help my knee and arthritis so when they ask me what kind of surgery I'm having I just tell them it's for my knee which is basically true. They don't need to know more
  19. I could really use a glass of wine right now or two or three!
  20. It's so hard! If it were easy we wouldn't be in this position. At least I wouldn't! My surgery is on the 18th and I'm in my 3rd week of pre op diet. I had my pre op class yesterday were they went over to expect from surgery. That anxiety and the fact that my arthritis has been hurting so bad yesterday and today I want to turn to food for comfort, but I won't. The excitement for you getting approved and all the emotions that come along w the fact it's truly happening is maybe why you're feeling the emotional hunger. I'm an emotional eater no matter what the emotion. Hang in there and remember this is a process and we will be successful.
  21. You need to call your insurance company and see what they require and then call again and again and again too make sure you understand the requirements. Document your conversations. It seemed every time I called the information was a little different. I was approved and surgery is on February 18. Good luck!

Of course they're jealous! It didn't take you long to reach your goal. My I ask your stats? HW, SW, and CW? Age too maybe? ???? I'm having surgery on the 18th. I'm 53 and about 125 lbs overweight
