  1. Sorry just saw this. Dr. Hoehn is awesome! I had great experience with all the staff. I was a little dehydrated day of surgery an got stuck 7 times to get iv started which was a little ick. I started at 299.8 Jan 30. I was 244 dos Aug 24 i'm now 209.2 I'm so happy! Can't wait to be in onderland! My sister was sleeved after me she had surgery with dr. Aragon she got a leak had to go back to surgery which Dr. Hoehn and Hamilton assisted with to convert to rny type thing. She was in hospital for nearly a month and had to do out patient dialysis once she left hospital. She came close to death-it was very scary. I don't think the surgery center handled her complications well. It is very very rare that they happen -if the do you really should be in a surgical icu afterwards. Don't want to scare you or anything-I'm so glad I made this decision and also would do all over again at KC bariatric. Wish you the best. Let me know if you have any questions.

  2. I'm at goal

Pictures are from day of surgery and today. It's hard to believe this is the same woman!! The face and butt transformation gets me the most!!

Wow! your pics are so inspiring!

  3. I'm only 2 weeks out. Idecided to make multiple meals in bulk and made mini muffin tin size entres and froze for later for me. It's a bit crazy and weird that I have to spit out food after tasting to make sure it's seasoned right. I've progressed to ground/pureed stage when I should be cramed soft. Some days I'm not hungry at all and other days i feel very hungry. I don't know why I'm acting so crazy rebelious. I wanted this surgery more than anything and I feel like I'm self sabotaging a bit. Uggg!

  4. I was sleeved on mon the 24th. I did Clear Liquids tue and wed. Full liquids day 3 to 7. I have had some cravings for real food then take a bite of anything or drink and craving goes straight away. Had a couple dreams of eating and worring that I ate too much of thw wrong thing!-lol I'm doing pretty good getting Protein in. I've added extra sugarfree flavoring to premade Premier Protein shakes that have 30 grams protein each. Definately hard to not drink fast when you feel thirsty. Probably tmi subject but I think belly pain feel a lot better if things started moving! Any thoughts on that?

  5. Dr. Hoehn is also doing mine! I've heard great things about him. I truely believe we are in very good hands.

I'm day 2 of 7 liquid and struggling a bit with the liquid only. I lost about 55 lbs since end of January doing mostly low carb. I've been stuck on scale for last month or so. Lately, I've been exercising more but also have had a few higher carb meals. I haven't given up caffeine until now. -Combined I think that's why I'm struggling(my own fault).

I am so very excited and ready to get on with this and start dropping! Do you know if messaging works on Android? I rarely get on home computer or laptop.

  6. I got insurance approval quickly after jumping hoops but the top surgeon (my preference) was booked out a bit. Had already met him and had such a good reputation that I felt he is worth the slightly longer wait.

-Sometimes delays are a blessing in disguise. Everday is so much closer to a new me and a new you-we are the faces of tomorrow's before and after pics! Godd luck my peeps!;))

  7. Love me some Pinterest! There are so many good ideas on up-cycling/repurposing old clothing. I'm definately a beginner sewer but think I can manage to make a few throw pillows, skirts, dresses, and hand bags out of some of my clothes that no longer fit me or never wear. It would be so fun to make a dress out of an old shirt;) I have 2 large trash bags full of clothes and my surgery isn't til Aug 24.

I would love to hear for anyone who's done this with old clothing and see pics too.

Pinterest is also great for recipes and wl motivation as well as many other things!

  8. I've been drinking Premier Protein premixed chocolate periodically. 30 grams Protein per shake 5 carbs but 3 Fiber so only 2 net carbs. 160 cal. Want to find unflovored to add to meals.

I have a juicer. There are some older threads on here about juicing. I'm trying to lose preop and have just pulled it out recently to help. I found people out there that have lost crazy amount of weight crazy fast doing liquid/juicing. I've lost 54 lbs since end of jan and hope to continue to lose til Aug 24.

  9. I'm also getting sleeved on Aug

24th also. Look through some before and after pics and ask yourself again if you want to do this. It is a tool and not a quick fix. Have you lost weight before only to regain plus more. I have time and time again! I don't have diabetes yet but I'm pretty sure without surgery it'd just be a matter of time. I want this for me first. I want to love myself. I want quit criticizing myself and limiting myself from doing things I want to do. I want to feel like I am truly LIVING again and not just surviving. I truely belive this tool will help me get there and for once stay there. Being a happier healthier person will be good for me, my husband, my children, my job, and my friends. Don't limit yourself. Stop telling yourself you can't. You owe yourself more. It's a major irreversible surgery. It's normal to be nervous. Your self talk seems to be trying to give up on you before you even get the chance. Talk back to it! Tell yourself you CAN. List reasons why. Good luck- hope you can be one of my surgery buddies!

  10. "rossigrl84" -wow! What a lot to have on your plate! I couldn't imagine trying to lose weight on steroids. It could make you crazy just trying not to gain! I wish you the best of luck there and hope you're able to find creative ways to get in exercise. I need to step it up if I'm going to win my diet bet. I'll do good all day then screw it all up in the evening-ugg. I'm so excited to have someone with my same surgery date! Only 5 weeks and 6 days left!!! I have a feeling it's gonna fly by!

  11. Since I have to wait til August 24th for surgery. My husband and I are doing diet bet that starts today and runs til end of July. Preop or a year out from surgery you can get paid to lose weight if you lose at least 4% of your body weight in 4 weeeks! I need this motivation to try to lose more prior to surgery. If anyone is interested in this- website is dietbet.com If you are like me you've lost weight before (just can't keep it off long term-where surgery will help). It's frustrating playing the weighting game prior to surgery when you are so ready for a change! I understand this might not be right for everyone and we will all have success in time!

  12. I also had to do 6 mo diet. I started Jan 28th and January counted as 1st month. The last thing I had to do was a week ago June 18th. Got my surgery date today today Aug 24. Surgeon booked up til then. I've been taking phentermine since Jan and also doing low carb some exercise to get jumpstart on wl. Im down about 50 lbs. I plan to continue 2 more months til my surgery date. Try to stay positive. We will get there! Best of luck!
