Congratulations everyone on all your success! I had surgery Dec. 10th and am only down 32 pounds. Very frustrated and saddened by this.

Thank you!@@BearerOfLight Oy vey. I hope it does not continue like this indefinitely. There should be a magic pill or formula to make it go faster or at least at an even pace.
I used to walk 2 miles or more at least 3-4 times per week but I'd only been doing short walks since surgery. So on Wednesday I started walking further again so I hope that will help. I'm for sure looking forward to being cleared for gym exercises.
Here's to wishing for an easier next six weeks for you!

I had, and am still having the same issue. I lost 12 pounds my 1 st week, and now at 6 weeks out I am still only down 20 pounds total. Lots of stalling in the early weeks. Very frustrating! ????My surgery was 10 days ago. I seem to be stuck at the same weight for the past 3 days. I was wondering if the weight I lost on the 2 week Opti-fast liquid diet plus the weight lost during my first week home would make for a 3 week stall. Has anyone experienced this so early after surgery? I know it's still early but could use some encouragement. And I want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.
I'm eating between 500 - 650 calories a day. I've so far not experienced dumping. I even had 1/2 cup of pureed split pea Soup last night for dinner. The only thing different so far is that my pouch doesn't like cold Water. It definitely has to be room temperature.

yes, I am aware of all of the terrible things Diet Coke can do to our bodies. I don't plan on drinking it again, I was just asking if carbonated Water may be a substitute, but it doesn't look like it, so I will keep searching for an alternative I enjoy. Thank you.No way honey!!! No way.
It will stretch your pouch. Maybe not all at once but over time.
Diet coke causes weight gain. Research it. There have been many studies to support it. It's terrible for you, very hard on your stomach and could give you an ulcer. It has a ton of chemicals in it which are awful for you and your new lifestyle.

Must read this.
Start exploring new things. Perhaps iced Decaf tea? Decaf coffee chilled with a little cream? Crystal light.

Congrats, that is wonderful news!My Dr. told me today that I am cured of high blood pressure. I had surgery Dec. 30. What a blessing.

I am wondering, why it it not allowed? I was a HUGE Diet Coke addict prior to surgery, and I miss it terribly now. I have not touched it, but think that sugar free flavored carbonated Water may help with the cravings. My stomach does tolerate it, anyone know why we shouldn't have it?

Congratulations Mommabird, that is awesome!

@berkelycurves I completely understand how you are feeling. I haven't weighted for a week ( trying to stay off the scale because it is so discouraging) but as of last Wednesday, I was only down 18 pounds and I had surgery December 10th. Hopefully we can encourage one another through this, and laugh about it when we look back after we have reached our goal. Keep your head up!

Yes we can! ❤️We can race or snails together! LOL

I know exactly what you mean Anne! My loss is going at a snail's pace also. 18 pounds down since RNY on 12/10/14. I actually ran into someone I had told today and he asked if I ever had it done. Makes me feel terrible!

I am almost 6 weeks out and have only lost 17 pounds, so 30 pounds in 5 weeks sounds great to me!
-
Ok, more TMI. I am 5 weeks out and not necessarily having a problem having to go, it's just a nigh, are getting it out. Take 2 Colace every day and it certainly isn't softening anything g up. Any suggestions?
-
Thank you for the insight AJP, I will discontinue eating and drinking together immediately. It has never caused dumping for me, but the other things could be possible.

Hello! I just turned 41 a coup,e of days ago and had my RNY done in December 10th. I am blessed to not have had any complications or much pain at all. I can eat and drink normally, except smaller portions, and I have not found anything that I don't tolerate yet, I can even eat and drink together. The hard part is how slowly I am losing. Only down 17 pounds 5 weeks out. I'm wondering if I have ruined my pouch already, is it already stretched? I don't know.
-
I am 5 weeks post op and haven't lost anything for 3 weeks. So frustrating, especially when you read all the big losses people are experiencing! Ughhhhh!
-
I am 5 weeks out and can also eat anything and drink Water normally. I did eat a chocolate chip cookie on ,y birthday and no dumping, I am however losing incredibly slow. Only 17 pounds and have been stalled for 3 weeks. Am concerned my pouch is stretched already? I can even drink when eating without a problem. I also crave Diet Cole so bad, I was a HUGE addict pre surgery, but have stayed strong and not touched it. It's really my only craving.

I just turned 41 a few days ago and I am 5 weeks post op. I returned to work (desk job) after 1 week. Grateful I have not had any complications or food intolerances, just frustrated with the slow weight loss.

I am definitely joining this slow loser club. I am 5 weeks out and only down 17 pounds. I have been stalled the last 3 weeks. It is frustrating for sure. I also can eat anything with no problems so I am grateful for that, just wish I was seeing more movement with the scale.< /p>

I u spiders rand your frustration brown eyed gal. I am 5 weeks out and only down 18 pounds. I am being told to force myself to eat more because my body is probably i starvation mode. I am getting my Protein in and am getting 500-600 calories a day, sometime a little more. I don't know. As little as we are eating one would think the weight would be falling off. I am grateful that I have not had any complications or nausea though.
-
Thank you brokenangel. I will force myself to increase because right now I am only getting 500-600 calories a day. I like eggs, are you eating regular eggs, or egg substitute? Congratulations o. Your 30 pounds, that is awesome!

I also worry about the same thing. I am 1 month post op and can drink normal as well as eat normal, just smaller portions. I am even able to drink a little when eating. Have I already stretched my pouch?

hi everyone! I am new to this site and had my RNY done on December 10th. Everything went really well and I think I got through the hardest Days ( liquids only ). The part that has me concerned is the lack of weight loss. Because I am barely eating anything, one would think the weight would be dropping oFf! I lost 12 pounds the 1st week, and have pretty much been stagnant since then. I am getting all my Vitamins and Protein in, just not much movement. Still not regretting my decision, just feeling a little discouraged.
