Hi all. So I had my revision 4 days ago. A 45 -50 pound weight loss would be perfect but I am terrified of regain. I am so afraid I'll gain again. Is anyone out years from surgery and maintaining??

I am 4 days out from same procedure. I feel not so alone now.

I’m going in for conversion from sleeve to roux en y this Wednesday the 29th. I’m so nervous. I have heard many things in regards to loss the second time around. My surgeon (who’s new to me) feels in time I can do even better than I did with the sleeve (down 85lbs with sleeve). He did follow that up with “especially if you get the excess skin removed” which I cannot see happening in my foreseeable future 😣 I get mixed reviews on weightloss range from fellow converters. I wish I heard from more people who have made the switch, good or bad. Hearing the stories and seeing pictures really helps.
Good luck with the surgery. Please keep me posted!! I hear the weight loss averages 40 lbs but is much easier to maintain.

I will be undergoing sleeve revision to roux en y. One because of reflux but more importantly for weight loss. I lost 90 lbs. 7 years ago with sleeve and gained back 65. How much should I expect to lose? I have a new surgeon who I like much better and he is more concerned with my health and I can already see their follow ups will be much better. I am not screwing this one up.

I am scheduled for a revision in December. I am so encouraged by this. I have always been hungry. And I know my stomach empties fast. I pray that I lose the hungry feeling. Glad you're doing well.

I have asked this question before and didn't get many responses. I had the sleeve over 5 years ago. I lost 90#. I have gained back half over the past 2 years due to binge eating, prednisone, and the fact that my surgeon NEVER told me I would need to live on 1000 calories a day. When I went back to see him about 6 months ago he told me its too late and will not be able to lose weight anymore!!!!! I am really frustrated and struggling.

Thank you!!!

I am eating too much, but I'm always hungry and have gotten lazy and back into bad habits. I weigh 202 right now and would like to get down to 175. My sleeve has stretched.

I am 4.5 years out of sleeve. I lost 90# and regained 45# in the past year or so. I am hungry an hour after I eat no matter what. I can't seem to get on track and my surgeon told me that the sleeve did what it was supposed to do and I will probably not be able to lose weight again. Yes, he said that. I can't imagine trying to go on 800 cal a day this far out. HELP!!!!!

I am 4.5 years post SLEEEVE. I had lost a total of 90# and felt great. Over the past 1.5 years I had gained half of it back. RIght now I would be happy losing 25#. Part of the reason for the regain was that I wasn't getting enough Synthroid (I have no thyroid) and part is medication and part is I have no OFF button. I can do great all day and between 7-10 PM I can't stop, Another problem is that an hour after I eat, I'm hungry. Yes I am getting enough Protein. I'm sick of regain and I'm sick of never feeling satisfied. Has anyone had experience with this and was able to lose?

I have gained 20 since sept. I am always hungry no matter what I eat. I feel like I'll never lose it again. I know what you're going through.

Anyone??

Oh and has anyone experienced stomach spasms? I randomly get very bad spasms that last a minute or two but breaks me into a sweat and takes my breath away. Very bad.

I've I've lostv80 lbs with the surgery and in the last 3 months gained back 20. Is it possible to get back on track and re-lose it??

I'll admit very little exercise. Im taking a class 3 evenings a week and work a full time job plus 3 house cleaning jobs. My class will be done mid Jan and then I'll be hitting the gym.

Hi. I'm 2 years out from my sleeve surgery. I was doing very well and slid downhill recently. I was under a tremendous amount of stress and started stress eating. Ive gained 8 lbs. I do not want to gain anymore and really need to lose the 8 I gained. I feel like I'm hungry all of the time no matter what I eat, and yes I've done high Protein. I need to mention that even after the surgery I still needed to eat healthy Snacks in between meals, the whole ghrelin thing didn't apply. I was still hungry. I was down a total of 86 lbs. Now I feel like I'm spiraling out of control and with the holiday's coming I'm getting really nervous. I just can't go back the old me, unhealthy and feeling like crap. Suggestions??

I'm on day 3 of the liver reduction diet to get my sleeve "back in shape". It's already feeling more restricted. It's good reminder to up up up your Protein when you've been slacking and get in the habit of healthy eating again. Plus, once you see the scale start moving again, it's gets you in the groove again. They have me on a shake for Breakfast, a shake for lunch with either 4 oz. of yogurt or 1/2 cup plain oatmeal, or 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce or sugar free pudding, a snack whcih would be something that you could choose from lunch and dinner is 2 oz lean protein with 1 cup of green veggies. If you absolutely have to you can have a shake in the evening. They would probably like you to make shakes with Water but I make mine with skimmed milk. Drink all the broth you want and eat sugar free Jello. The first day and a 1/2 are tough. You will have carb withdrawl but your energy levels will sky rocket and you will be reminded on how good this feels.

I just spoke with my Doctors office. They said your stomach naturally stretches over time, not back to original. They told me to do the liver reduction diet for a week to 2 weeks and this should get my sleeve back into shape.

Thanks so much!

What Led To Revision

I had the sleeve 7 years ago. I lost 90 lbs. I gained back 70. I have terrible Gerd. My surgeon told me a few years out that the sleeve did what it was supposed to do and i won't lose like weight again. I went to a new surgeon and he recommended a revision to bypass. I'm 6 days out. I hope to hell I can maintain this time.
