  1. Talked to my coordinator today to make sure I had all my stuff in, just waiting for May nutrition appt...she says due to scheduling load I probably won't get in until July. : ( It's only an extra month but I am so depressed. I have pictured this so much it is so hard to wait. So I guess now I am an impatient July sleever... Glad to see everyone's progress, keep posting!
  2. @@butterfly56 I am jealous about how fast you are moving! I took care of my psych and all those other things the first month of my supervised diet and now I am just waiting. If you are not sure about the surgery though, I can see how you would feel it is going very quickly. As far as eating out...I am ready for interaction with my friends and family to not be focused on food. I think I will be able to happily nibble my way through dinners, etc. just focusing on the conversation. It's going to be a change for sure. I've already stopped drinking and eating at the same time. It was weird but now I am used to it. Can I ask how long you have been thinking about the surgery? How much research and reading have you done?

    Any June sleevers?

http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/332455-impatiently-waitingjune-sleevers/ Here is a whole group of June sleevers!
  4. @@DisneyDreaming no, no date yet. I finish my 6 month supervised diet in May so hoping for a date in June. We just booked our 25th for next year in Disneyworld! Also going to take a cruise to the Bahamas so I am definitely expecting to be a lot skinnier! My Dr is Eric Harris - he seems great and the staff love him, so I figure that is a good sign.
  5. @@DisneyDreaming - I live in Seattle and am a total Disney freak! In fact we just got back from a week there in March. Can I ask where you are having your surgery? Mine is with PSB. I have been married for 24 years - well in two weeks - and have three kids 22, 18 and 16.

    Pen Pal Goodie Boxes?

Is this still going on? I would like to join in on the fun. fritzfive@comcast.net. I'm in Seattle.
  7. I use myfitnesspal and follow the program's goals for calories, etc. I did adjust the carb goal down trying to get ready for my very low carb pre-op diet. For my weight I am at 1400 calories and am about to move down to about 80 grams of carb a day. Oh, and I'm in Seattle. : )
  8. My Dr won't even do the band anymore because of the high rate of complications. I would vote sleeve as long as you have really educated yourself on what that means!
  9. I see my surgeon tomorrow for my halfway through appt. I'm excited but nervous too! I keep thinking something is going to happen to prevent me having surgery in June. : ( I have to think positively!! Glad to hear from everybody else!
  10. Philosophy! I swear by it. Have been using it for years and it keeps my skin smooth and nice. I use hope in a jar and miracle worker. I also use their face wash and it does a great job of removing makeup and also softening skin.
  11. Just checking in. I have my 4th NUT appt on Monday, and expect to be down about 20 lbs from when I started. We'll see. Halfway through this supervised plan - Mar/Apr/May and I'm ready to go! Getting excited!
  12. Hiya - in my first month of supervised diet, have 5 more to go before I can get a surgery date. Looking for anyone in a similar place to be a buddy as we go through this. I'm 46 years old with three kids, live near Seattle, Wa
  13. I'll be 47 next month and my surgery is in June. Wish I had done it earlier, but so happy to be doing it now!

First Day of PreOp Diet Done

I'm so impressed with you all doing the liquid pre-op. I'm not sure how I would handle that. My Dr. requires a 2 week very low carb diet and that's it.
  15. Lord, I wear 3X, but I have 2X, 1X and XL waiting for me to work my way down. I don't think I saved anything smaller than that on my last few trips up and down the yo yo string. Maybe I'll buy a goal outfit in a Large and then hope I get to choose a smaller goal outfit after that! Large! That seems crazy right now!
  16. @@richieoneal411@gmail.com How are you deciding what size to choose? I was thinking of buying a goal outfit but unsure what size to make it. I really want to wear leggings and tall boots!
  17. lol @Engteacher. I have a small shopping problem and I keep telling myself "no more fat clothes, no more fat clothes"!
  18. I just schedule my appts for as late in the afternoon as possible, is that an option? Or first thing in the morning? That way I have most of the day uninterrupted. Sometimes I skip lunch those days as well. I haven't told work and don't plan to do so. I have a hiatel hernia that will be repaired at the same time, so that's all I am telling them. That's fantastic that your boss is being supportive
  19. It's so hard to wait! I'm almost at the halfway point of my three months and while in some ways the time has dragged, in other ways it just seems like yesterday that I started this process. Lots of good ideas in the replies here. Learn as much as you can, prepare as much as you can and your day will be here before you know it!
  20. SO great to hear from everybody!! @@mclorrie it's called Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success by Dr.Duc C. Vuong
  21. Thought I would better introduce myself since I hope we will be supporting each other through the next few months. I'm going to be 47 in a few weeks, have been married for almost 24 years and have 3 kids - ages 22, 18 and 16. I'm am a native Washingtonian and have lived just outside of Seattle my whole life. How about all of you?

Keeping weight loss surgery a secret

I've told my husband and bestie, I don't plan to tell anyone else, even my kids. I'm telling work that I am getting a hernia repair - perfectly true, just not the whole truth. I've lost and gained so many times in the past it won't be a screaming shock when I lose again. I'll just have the happy difference of not gaining again!
  23. @@mclorrie I bought that on my nook and another one with a very similar title....read them both already and looking for others!
  24. @@Engteacher, I'm the same way!! Reading everything, on these boards, bought a ton of Protein drink samples, Youtube, even reading other surgeons' post-op plans that I find with google...step away from the computer...lol.
