  1. Yeah. I've been dealing with this situation for a long time. The pain is on the left side of my abdomen. It may be gallstones. They are doing some further testing in a couple of days. Is it normal to feel this type of excruciating pain? It goes a way a bit with advil. It feels like some sort of tension and release, and cramping.
  2. mine was on the left side also. ive been getting pain around that area. its a congested cramping pain.
  3. Can anyone out there give me an advice? My doctor ordered a test done on my colon to see if there is anything in the intestines. i did happen to lose a lot of weight but it shouldn't be a the cost of me having pain in the left quadrant. anything to expect when they this test???
  4. i went to a doctor yesterday about my pain in the abdomen on the left side. he said basically its mostly psychological and it is caused by anxiety. when i get up in the morning that pain is there and runs into my back and pelvis area. he said that is the main reason why im getting this pain. im not exactly sure if what he is saying is correct.
  5. still having pain. its in the bottom left side of my abdomen. i was going to go to the ER but i'm still not sure. maybe its a gallbladder? stinks.
  6. yes it is. this is where the lap band port is. in the lower left quadrant. its like a cramping pain and discomfort. it feels like tension and it bothers me. i have no idea if i should trust the doctor.
  7. no im not a female. that's screwed up that you say that.. this sounds confusing. this doesn't feel like it has anything to do with depression because it is physical pain. any other advice? screwed up.
  8. I have lower left quadrant pain. It radiates into my back it feels like a pinched nerve. I spoke to two different doctors and one of them told me it is gallstones. I dunno how the gallstones could have a factor in this. I'm not sure what to do. The pain is like a cramping pain. Anyone have any thoughts or comments? This is really stressful for me.
  9. hi everyone. i just have a question about the gallbladder and gall stones. when the doctors looked around my stomach area , they found some gall stones. there were a lot of them apparently. i'm still in pain.. and the pain goes into my back and into my pelvic muscles/bone. im not sure if removing the gallbladder is the right idea. if i get it removed and i still have pain i would be very disappointment. any thoughts or words of encouragement out there?
  10. yeah i let them know, they've known for a while now. i just wanted to ask if this was normal. because it really bothers me. i wish there was some pain meds out there that could make it go away.
  11. Are you supposed to have pain in the stomach area? With this surgery does anyone experience and discomfort or feel something different? Is this normal to have this cramping, muscular pain?
  12. They did when I first got it done. The thing is this has been going on for a long time. I dunno why this is going on.
  13. I got the lap band converted to the gastric sleeve about 3 months ago. I've said this on the forum before. I get a pain or cramping that leads to the spine. I've went to the hospital or ER and they told me it may be an abscess.. It really is there and I don't think im supposed to feel this sort of thing. Its like a cramping connected to my back. Anyone ever heard of this? I'm seeing the doctor early next week. I really hope they can give me some answers. It may be because of my depression, but this is an actual cramping and pain. I hope I can get some help here.
  14. Yes they did revise it to a gastric sleeve. But apparently I'm still in cramping and pain. It is sometimes there.. and sometimes not there. I mean there are pros and cons to having the surgery. I can definitely feel something is wrong.
  15. I went to the hospital and they told me I have an abscess. I have no idea what that is. It's probably related to the surgery as I've been having pain. Anyone know what that is and what are the causes for this?
  16. I got a lap band revision to the sleeve. Since then when I lie down after I go to sleep its hard me to get up. I usually lye on my abdomen when going to sleep. The soreness feels really bad and goes into my back. I dunno what 2 do now.
  17. I had the lap band to sleeve revision surgery. Ever since I had the first surgery I've been experiencing a compression and cramping pain in the middle of my abdominal. If I sit on a chair it will get worse within the hour. The thing is I contacted my lap band doctor and he told me that there was nothing wrong. They did an upper GI and apparently there was nothing wrong with it. I have a feeling it has something to do with my abdominal muscle because I can feel it in my back sometimes also. I dunno what to do now because he didn't find anything and I may go get this checked out. I really don't think it is just my imagination because this doesn't feel normal.
  18. It probably is on the side. It feels like someone stitched something in correctly. The pain feels somewhat like tension or muscle tension in the abdominal. I'm going to have this checked out. I am not a doctor and I dunno what it might be. They said something about it being tension on the abdominal wall where the port of the lap band used to be. However, this has been going on for a long time.
  19. It feels like tension in the back in my hip bone. I am not making this up it is really confusing. It feels like a sprained muscle in the stomach area. This has been going on for 2 or 3 years. I wish I had something to take to make it go away. The pain otherwise goes in and out. Whenever I sit down its there. It is a confusing type of thing.
  20. Yeah you see on this board many people just don't read what I post and that is screwed up. You said it "if you are in pain then there is something wrong". I am probably going to the ER near me to get it checked out. I have insurance so it shouldn't be a bad idea. I got the revision about 8 weeks ago. It could be from caffeine and coffee but I don't think that can do that to me. It feels like I pulled a muscle in my abdominal.
  21. I have a few questions about the sleeve surgery. I got the surgery about a month ago and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. A: When can I start eating normal things again? How much Protein should I take in? Is there any range of weeks or months that it will take to fully heal? B: I keep getting pain in the stomach area that is intermittent. It's terrible and it feels like cramping. It is around the stomach then extends into the spine. I have no idea what this may be. What should I do about this? Is this common and what might this be?
  22. I just had the lap band to sleeve surgery about 2 weeks ago this Wednesday. I have a few questions if anyone could answer them: 1. What are some of the differences between the lap band and the sleeve? Any different eating habits or do you feel full easier? 2. How long do you think that I can start eating regular food again? I've been using full liquids for about 2 weeks now. 3. I actually had some things that I thought were full liquids but weren't. I had a bad feeling after eating them. What will happen if I had a small amount of mashed potatoes or a mushed up meal like that? Will I get sick? Anyone who can answer any of my questions thank you in advance.
  23. I just had my post op appointment. The reason why I had to get the sleeve was a decision made by the surgeon. Before when I had the surgery it was a plication with a lap band. Then he revised it to the sleeve surgery. When the surgeon before the surgery did it he messed it up. It wasn't done correctly. So basically this surgeon revised it and the best bet was to make it a sleeve. I am losing a lot of weight now but it is getting too much. I am losing too much weight on this.
  24. I am getting the lap band with the plication undone in about a week. They had me go for testing and everything came back okay. The doctor said he is going to undo everything because there was something called a prolapse or a dilation of the pouch. Anyone know what I would expect when this is undone? I had really bad stomach pain but I did lose a ton of weight. Just some questions: Will my hunger come back? Will I have any type of restriction still? The doctor said he is going to fix everything because I don't believe I needed the surgery completely anyway.
  25. I had the banded plication surgery approximately 3 years ago. Apparently there was a bulge in the upper part of the stomach where they sewed up the stomach. The stiches weren't stitched and half of the plication was there. Would this explain why I have bad food choices and a difference in my diet? I am going to get it undone. Would anyone know what my options are as far as re-banding in the future or fixing this surgery?
