Bougie size
How many of you talked to your surgeon about the bougie size he would use for your sleeve surgery? And if you did, how did it go, did you have input? I find myself obsessing about this because I want my sleeve to be small (within safe and reasonable limits of course) I have read that 32f is the smallest we can use here in the US? I am thinking 34f or 36f. Of course I plan on talking to my surgeon about this on Tues at my pre op, but I have a bit of anxiety over it. Worried that it seems like second guessing him, or is this a fair and common topic to discuss?

Guess what I got this morning
Woohoo to better sleep since you have that fancy pants new sleeve!!

Feeling horrible
I hope you feel better asap!! Are you having trouble getting in the fluids and protein? I plan on going back to work 8 days post op and am afraid for this exact reason. I am a nanny and it will be sooooo miserable if I am just feeling sick, lightheaded, exhausted AND having to prep food. I think I may ask surgeon if he recommends longer.

HELP How do I get all my protein?
My sample diet from 8+ weeks shows TWO protein shakes per day in addition to 3 meals. I also wonder why some NUTs would say no protein shakes??

I have a surgery date!
CONGRATULATIONS!! Compared to what I read here regarding what some people have to go thru to get approval I also feel that this has been EASY so far, a lot crammed into a short amount of time, yes, but still easy. I had a surgery date on my first consultation (contingent on my completion of pre op testing) and a letter of approval from insurance before I even went for my first test!! I start my pre op diet next Tuesday and I cant wait. I LOVE all my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protiens, my new best friend

Anyone have suggestions for preparing for surgery and recovery?
Definitely good advertising BUT I have tried the Unjury choc, van, strawberry and the chix soup and they are all EXCELLENT. No hint of anything weird whatsoever. I ordered all my Protein and all my Vitamins from Unjury yesterday, $233 for 3 months of vitamins and about 5 weeks of protein. Seemed like a lot to me at first but as I think about it it really isn't bad, and I AM WORTH IT lol

all because I had pop :(
That doesn't seem quite fair to me!! Seems very harsh, especially in light of your HONESTY and the 20lb loss As swampdoggie said, just STAY THE COURSE, you are in this for the long haul so soon enough the month wont matter.

Unjury Chicken Broth
Just tried it for myself today, I thought it was very good!. Ordered 10 packets to have as a change of pace, along with 6 containers of Protein powder, 2 choc, 1 vanilla 1 strawberry and 2 unflavored (going to try adding a bit to other foods and broths) I also tried the chocolate supreme today and while it was deeeelicious, it was a bit too sweet for me so I was thinking I could use 2/3 of a flavor and 1/3 of unflavored for my shakes..

A New Day
My surgery is coming up soooo fast, 3 weeks. I cant wait to start my new days but until I do I am pretty scared. Just came from a visit with a friend who was sleeved in June, hes down from 313 to 197!!! He talks about everything from the day of surgery on like it was just no big deal and says all he regrets is not doing it sooner. Assures me I will feel the same & to stop worrying. Not gonna happen til I am on the other side of surgery.

2 weeks, 4 days out
Good for you, such a great attitude and outlook. I kinda feel the same, I have no serious health issue YET, but I decided what am I waiting for? Did I really want to wait until I DO have a serious issue? Heck no!!!!! Best of luck and joy to you!

Surgery on 16 February 2015 - getting scared
I cant answer any of your questions but I wanted to tell you I wish you the best of luck, easy recovery and joy in your new tiny tummy!! Mine is 2/24 and I cant push away the fears even though everyone who has had this says almost all good things, they says "its hard at first but it will quickly be the best decision you have ever made". I really have faith that this will be true but I think until I am on the other side of it I am just going to be scared. This is ok.

One week later. I feel great
I am excited for sure, I already have many different stages of "Goal" clothing, I LOVE cute clothes! Also have a laundry list of things I soooo want to do once I can. I am going to bring a notepad to the hospital and have my mom or Hubs write down every activity that comes to my mind after the surgery, right now the list is only in my mind and I am thinking that focusing on verbalizing them during the hours after surgery may help me through. And then once I get home I will have the BIG PICTURE list to focus on... Silly? How are you doing with the food/liquids? (still just liquids at this stage?) Are they filling you up or do you feel hungry? I am going to try the pacer app, sounds very cool. Enjoy your nice weather Eli, and wishes for continued joy & success

One week later. I feel great
Hi eli! Huge congrats on your success so far!! Sounds like you have done incredibly well! Over 27K steps is amazing, do you have a fit bit? My surgery is in 24 days, looking forward to my new tiny tummy but also so anxious and a bit scared. What you shared has eased my mind. thanks

Farewell Tour
Well... We leave this Tuesday on a 15 night vacation that includes 5 nights at WDW, a 6 night cruise and then four more nights at WDW. I will be home 27 days before my surgery and this is when I will really focus on things related to pre surgery. I am HUNGRY (hee hee) for all info I can find on what will be my new lifestyle and my "rebirth" in a way, BUT this is my last vacation of "life as I know it" and I am just going to focus on being in the moment and try not to think too much about the surgery during this time. I have already started to slow down my eating, take little bites, chew chew chew, and cut down on fluids during my meals. I will continue this on vacation but I am going to have what I want and so to answer your question, I guess I am having a foodie farewell tour of sorts. Having said that I KNOW that my joy in life after surgery is going to be so much richer than the most decadent meal I could ever dream of now. I will always be a foodie but I expect my tastes are going to change quite a bit and I welcome it with open arms :-) Good luck to you!!!!
