  1. So are they good? I had a 12 pack in my cart at bjs yesterday, $18.99. Im going on a trip this weekend and they would be convenient but I put them back, was afraid they would be yucky...

When did you start to feel hunger?

I had extreme and painful hunger that started the day after surgery and lasted for several weeks, if anything my hunger is lessening as the weeks go on. I do still get hungry but it is a pretty mild feeling, nothing like the hunger I had pre surgery,
  3. Too cool! Best of luck and keep us posted!!
  4. Well, as so many others have said, it is not the easy way out and you will see that when you have this done. BUT I will say that for me, after 35 years of struggle and yo-yo dieting, this was the BEST way out and I don't regret it for a second. Hard? YEP Worth it times 100? YEP I am not shouting my WLS procedure from the rooftops but I certainly have not hidden it from anyone. When it comes up I speak of it as if I am the luckiest person in the world to have received this gift, and I truly believe that I am. I have had no negative responses and if I ever do they can simply kiss my SKINNY butt!!
  5. started on day 7 and had no discomfort, 8 weeks out now and very little causes me any issues, have never thrown up.

    Clothing size

I started in a very tight 18 or proper fitting 20 in pants (or a bursting at the seams XL yoga pant) and a 3x in tops. I am now 7 1/2 weeks out and have lost 24" total from my tummy, bust, hips, arms & calves. Today I wore a L yoga pant and an XL American Eagle shirt!! In fitted pants I am into 14's.

    NSV shout outs

I was sitting in an Atlantic city Hotel room yesterday when my husband came out of the bathroom and said "do you have any idea how great you look and do you realize you are sitting there with your legs crossed?" WOW it was a good day!!!
  8. AHHHH-MAZING! way to go!
  9. Congrats!!! You got this!
  10. My surgeon is/was excellent and I had every confidence in him. That's about where it ends. Most pronounced are the two NUTS in his office, just wack-a-doos, All of my time with them has been...interesting. My two nutrition classes were dominated by PATIENTS who wanted to discuss when they could drink alcohol again, and all sorts of other ridiculous crap that was just a waste of time. I will certainly see MY surgeon in the future when/if I have any questions or concerns, but after my 8 week check I am pretty much done with the rest.

    I want to cry

Feel better asap, fingers crossed for you that all goes well. Hopefully you are feeling lots better tomorrow and can proceed. Even if you are still a little under the weather on Wed they may not postpone you, thinking that you should be fine by Monday.

    Eating Too Much?

What you described doesn't seem like a lot of food to me!! I am only 6+ weeks out and I can eat 2-3 ounces of chicken with some gravy. Why do you feel bad about these amounts? Is it that you aren't losing anymore or are gaining?

How long was your pre-op diet?

My surgeon required a one week diet for bmi under 45 and a 2 week diet for bmi over 45. But it wasn't a full liquid diet, we could have applesauce, grits, oatmeal, 3 ounces of chicken, veg, etc
  14. I had a Ritas kiddie size sugar free Water ice the other night. I had them put a "dot" of custard on top, half of which I gave to my husband because I still thought it was too much. About 2 hours later O.M.G.!! It passed pretty quickly but it was HORRIBLE. Wont be doing that again any time soon!!
  15. I started one week after surgery. the first thing I had was about an ounce of pureed chix, Beans & potato with a dot of applesauce. Then yogurts, hummus, cottage cheese, ricotta bake, etc

How much Yogurt - post op?

I could eat 1/3 to 1/2 of a Greek Light & fit which has just a little over 5 ounces in the whole container.

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

I still have a VERY long way to go but I have lost 33 lbs in 6 weeks and also got a haircut. I am just so thrilled already.

    how many nights ?

My surgeon required two nights, He puts a drain in and doesn't remove it until day three, right before discharge. But for the drain I would have begged to go home after one night, I knew there was no point in asking
  19. I am really sorry that your friend reacted that way to you, clearly its because she loves you but she is not very informed and thinks that she is. I had someone in my family that I am very CLOSE too and there was no way around telling her. I made it much harder for her to criticize by opening with "we are so close and I am only telling you about this because I KNOW I will have your support" She still gave me a bit of a hard time in roundabout ways. However, I think it eased what I would have had to endure if I had just told her without saying I KNOW you will support me.

It's so WEIRD not looking fat.

    You are a beautiful inspiration!
  21. I still have a LOOOONG way to go but im thrilled with the difference 33lbs and a haircut makes. I'm a happy girl
  22. I am only about 5 1/2 weeks out and my tummy already feels pretty "normal" just TINY. You will be able to eat again, just not anything like the amounts we were once used to (but you will NOT want to). I am down almost 35lb already, HUGE reward, no regrets. Best of luck to you!!

    Fitbit anyone

    Hiiii! brannondlb@aol.com
  24. I was out for 8 days and then only did a shortened schedule for the first week back. Very little pain, was mostly just tired more than normal.

5 weeks post op weight gain

Stay the course and the scale will move. Eat what you are supposed to and try increasing your activity. I have had 2 times already where I gained a pound but it resolves within a day or two. In my case, I think it is just fluid fluctuations.
