Hello I was sleeved on 12/2/14 my hair is thinning like crazy also. I've lost 40 pounds and now at a stall. I'm seriously thinking about doing the 5day pouch reset tomorrow hoping that will jumpstart me.
What is a 5 day pouch reset?

My Dr. told me to use Coconut Oil also because I was drying out on my back where the bra rubs and it hurt. I found that you can also buy it at a real
good price at a TJ Maxx or Marshalls in the cooking section. It works really well.

How are you doing with hair loss? I was sleeved on Dec 29 my weight loss is close to yours. Struggling with
the Protein also. But the Hair loss is scaring me...I have been taking Biotin every day.. Found some great tasting
chewables on Amazon...But I almost hate to shower and wash my hair it scares me so much every time! Anyone
else fighting this...

Al, I have not been able to hold down Protein Shakes since my surgery on Dec 29th,
I drink mostly Power-aide it has B-3 B-6 & B12. I also drink an occasional Propel or if I drink Water it has to have flavoring also, regular water just doesn't go down well. My Dr & Nut said it was more important that I stay hydrated than anything...You are still in my prayers.

Awesome, These boards are a huge help often better than your Dr. Or your Nut...When it comes to is this normal, or what can I do for....Good Luck!

I am 6 weeks post op and was cleared to have toast at 3 weeks. I do enjoy a piece with an egg a couple of times a week. I have had no problems with any food I have eaten including the toast. Don't eat bread since it can expand in the tum or so my nut told me.
Hasn't slowed my weight loss thus far but if it would thats something I would adjust in the future if I felt it was necessary. I'm not in a race but a journey. I see people saying they allow themselves a piece of chocolate as their indulgence for all the hard work they are doing. That doesn't interest me lol. The egg and toast is my indulgence
I have never tried Toast, Because I experienced the Bread swelling.. But I guess I am confused that the Bread will swell but the Toast won't...I to would like to have the egg/toast. . I need the Protein..

I had surgery the same day as you. And since I haven't been able to hold down shakes since the surgery
I have been trying an assortment of food. bread does not seem to be my friend.. It is the one thing that
sends me running for the Bathroom. It feels like I swallow it and it immediately stops half way down and
starts absorbing things and bloating up...Anything that would absorb Fluid (Bread, biscuit, dumpling,
some Cereal, breading on shrimp,) seem to be a no go for now...I have been able to eat a few chips and
am trying wheat thins very slowly right now to try to eat Egg salad with! Good Luck and let me know if
you find something that works...

I am doing better every day, I month out on the 29th...Have not had a shake since pre-surgery.. My nose and sleeve don't like them.. I get my fluids but not my Protein but it is improving every day. I ate a whole yogurt for the 1st time yesterday.. Water still doesn't go down well. but Gatorade & power aide do. I have a hard time getting all my Vitamins and fail at that often also but trying to stay positive...

Try some Infant Mylicon /Simethicone drops. Wal-Mart/Amazon And Gas X Strips, It also helps to keep a pillow against your belly. When it is less tender lay on your stomach it will also force gas out. I also had a much easier time drinking when it had crushed ice in it for some reason. Good Luck!!!!

Gas X Strips help lots also...

I had trouble with Water it seemed like it didn't want to go down the right tube...Than I found anything I drank was better with crushed Ice. Than I moved to Grape Propel it went down easier than water. Than I know this sounds weird but grape juice over ice, It was like I had no trouble drinking that at all. ...And for the last week orange gatoraide over Ice or Cold gatoraide or poweraide. in a small bottle! But one month out and thats what I fight with is the thirst, and I try to wake up and drink at night also...Good Luck!

The reflux Medicine seems like the most important Medicine I take...I get gassy and almost Nauseous without it.
-
I had no spasms but my Dr. sent me home with Medication to prevent them right from the Hospital.

I wish I would have read this yesterday...I gave up and booked a March Cruise...I told my husband I don't need drinks,
really won't eat much food...But I need Sun & Warmth!

I have had a couple of these incidents. And when I told my doctor he was like ..Please, Please try not to let that happen for any reason, He was very worried about Staple/Suture line...He said if he could he would leave all his patients on liquid for six weeks to give us all time to heal my sleeve seems to hate any kind of bread or breading and most meat.< /p>

I was weighed the day of my surgery and I have two start weights, like others have mentioned. I was 260 when I started planning for my surgery and 236 the day of my surgery. Yesterday I officially entered Onederland!
Congrats on Onederland...That is a Milestone!

That's great news...Good Luck and Improved Health for you both!!! Rest this weekend...

I was sleeved on the 29 and never needed naps but this weekend I needed them badly! I'm not sure what it is but I did go to Walmart and as soon as I got home I had to lay down. I was feeling lightheaded and wanted to just chug so Water. Has anyone else felt this way? I am also adding food to my diet so I'm not sure if that's the case either.
I have the urge to chug Water or Propel and now Grape juice...LOL The first thing in the morning... I wake up
very Thirsty....I am still having no luck with shakes of any sort. Broths and Soups and Yogurt... I know I am not getting enough Protein but I'm close on liquid intake... Went back to work today...Feel like I need a nap..
