My manager asks me every week. One of the docs I work for who also happens to be my gastro asks, but it doesn't bother me. He's like you amaze me! You're doing fantastic! Pretty soon I'm not gonna be able to see you! Lol he just wants what's best for me, but others are nosey
This has becomes response too. I can't believe how any people actually ask... Like coworkers! My answer. A lot. Then I smile and change the subject.

I tell them the weight lost since I started the two week preop diet.

Has anyone's liver levels risen since having surgery? Mine were always normal and I just had bloods drawn and they were significantly elevated. I work for a gastro doc so in two weeks we are gonna repeat with other tests and hope it was a fluke. I am 8 weeks post op

coconut oil works wonders

I'm almost 4 weeks out and never really felt full on liquids, but as soon as I got to puréed foods it hits Ya! I remember wondering if the surgeon really did the surgery lol
-
Call to make sure they received it. There's been plenty of times where my job has faxed something been given a document number and when we follow up they say they never got it
-
I packed entirely too much! Didn't get into my clothes until I left. I only used Chapstick, phone charger, and phone
-

Have your surgery. You're very lucky to have a supportive husband
-
I had mine placed during surgery and removed right before being discharged
-
I never changed out of my gown til I left. The only things I took out of my overpacked bad were Chapstick, my phone and charger
-
My last active pill was 2 weeks before surgery so I wasn't going to start a new pack so I stopped 2 weeks prior. He said to wait until 3 weeks post op to start taking again as the first 3 weeks are when you are most prone to blood clots
-
Nope I take 40mg of omeprazole. How many hours before bed are you eating?
-
I take 10000mcg a day! I started few weeks prior to surgery so that I get in the habit of taking it
-
It gets better! I was worried when I first started drinking, but it's gotten a lot better. I'll be three weeks out on Monday!

I have BCBS NJ Advantage EPO. I just got sleeved on 2/9. I didn't have to do a 12 month nutritional program. I had my first consult on 12/11/14. It may vary by plan. What BCBS NJ plan do you have.
-
I was sleeved on the 9th. I've been told the coldness is a side effect of surgery. Last night I had a heating blanket plus 2 more blankets.
-
I was allowed one cup daily with Splenda or something like it. I put a splash of almond milk in it as well
-
Aww that's so awesome! My boyfriend is the same way and I love it!
-
I know there was a bunch of us that were sleeved early last week.
1. How do you feel? Any issues?
2. How is your water/protein intake?
3. Have you had your first follow-up appt? How did it go? If not, when is your appt?
4. What stage food are you on (full liquids, purees, etc.)?
5. Have you hit buyer's remorse yet or still glad you did it?
6. Lastly - how much have you lost since the surgery?
Had surgery Feb 9th.
1. I'm feeling fantastic! No pain! Haven't taken any pain meds since the hospital. Only issue I had was the bariatric Vitamins caused me to break out in red spots, but they're gone now.
2. I get in 46g of Protein and Prob about 30oz of Water, but if you include broths etc Prob about 50oz.
3. Had my first preop diet yesterday and it went awesome! I start puréed stage on Monday! Incisions look good and he's happy with my weight loss!
4. I'll be moving to puréed on Monday!
5. No buyers remorse! Love my sleeve!
6. Down 25.7 since the preop diet.
