    Also Dub is right. Keep the Febreeze handy. I also use PooPouri (spelling). Groupon has a deal on it right now. I've actually gotten my family on it too. Lol

    I would move to egg whites and try eggs again later. I know people sometimes have problems with eggs. Also, try using myfitnesspal or lose it to keep track of your food. I didn't read the 4 months out part (sorry, sometimes I can't read LOL). But at 4 months, you're still pretty new so I would take it easy on certain foods. Take it easy. I'm a year out, and I'm finding I can eat more, but I still stick with Lactaid if I do any milk. I still stay away from Brussels sprouts, black Beans, etc. But I keep Beano pills handy just in case as well.     You need to see your nutritionist. Which phase are you in? Are you writing your food down in a journal? If so, things that produce gas - milk, whey, beans, etc may need to go for a bit. Also Gas-X chewables and Lactaid chewables help me.
  4. I don't think there is one. But like I said, as we get older, we start taking vitamins anyway. So it didn't seem like such a big deal to me.
  5. Does your surgeons office have support groups? Mine does. They help. And I had a good friend who had the DS done before me so I could pick her brain as needed. I, much like you, lost a lot of weight on my own then gained it back. I chose the DS because of its effectiveness. Again, it's not for everyone, but personally I'm happy I went that route. I'm not having any adverse effects. And my vitamin levels have been good. As for the taking vitamins for the rest of your life, that was going to happen anyway. So it didn't seem like such a big deal to me.
  6. Another thing you should know: have a decent support system around you (friends, family, etc) who will cheer you on. I've realized this has helped in my success the most. I also have been seeing a therapist to really address how I gained weight in the first place so I don't go back there again.
  7. I was 297 and I decided to have a DS over the sleeve. I'm super happy with my decision. It was an adjustment in the beginning, but now everything is a snap. Just make sure your doctor educates you about Vitamins and nutrition. I go for blood work every 3 months to make sure I'm good to go still. But I'm (as of today) 112 lbs down (I haven't changed my banner yet). My surgery was Dec 17. And my recovery time was quick. I was in the hospital for 2 days. Back at work after 2 weeks.

  20. YES!! The clothes!!!! I tried on something recently in a standard size clothing store and almost cried in the dressing room.

    I can tell you have lost "some" weight?

    Hehe I went out this weekend and I had someone hug me she was so excited about my weight loss. These reactions, although sweet, have been a little odd. I see myself daily... So sometimes I don't see myself the way others do. It's been taking some getting used to.
  24. I'm totally late to this party But I had the DS on December 17, 2014. I started out at 297 and as of today I'm 214. I'm beyond pleased with my decision. Last check up I had all of my levels were PERFECT. I just take my Vitamins, exercise, and stick with high Proteins and low carbs. I eat every 3 hours and I take my time eating as well. There are a few foods that are "off the menu" for me now. Grapes are a done deal as is any fruit with a skin on it I can't peel off. I stay away from all bread but really I don't even miss it. Although I did try a cookie a month ago and it was nasty - as hell. Some down sides: When you eat the wrong things your body lets you know pretty quick. You will either have diarrhea, awful gas, or vomit. But overall things have been awesome. I'm really blessed to have a great family and good friends who are excited for me. Whenever we go out to eat they always say "I checked out the menu for you!" It's been really nice.
