God it's like all of you are telling my story!!! I'm down 55 since my journey started dec 3. surgery was dec 17 and have lost 38 since then. but the past 3 weeks I've been stuck around the same 6 pounds. have been losing slowly and it's killing me! well all get there.. slowly but surely. but it is nice to know that others are feeling the same. I don't want to be a sleeve failure

just like yourself, I was a nervous wreck about being put under. shockingly enough, I remained amazingly calm. they didn't give me any sedatives via iv before the mask. as they were strapping my arms down to the table the anesthesiologist was talking to me, put the mask on my face and that's all I remember! no telling me to count, no telling me to breathe deeply. nothing!! don't even remember blacking out like you do with propofol (for endoscopy)
you'll be fine. had some nausea but got the kitchen sink of antinausea meds and was fine in 5 min

lol yea it's gross. but we all go through it. the key thing is "liquids in liquids out". I started to go a little more normal when I transitioned to puréed foods
but honestly, for the love of god, don't trust your fluffies for the first couple weeks. always be close to a bathroom!

in the beginning (until I learned how big 3-4 oz looks) I used toddler plates and utensils. also, as someone else mentioned, the small gladware containers are 4oz. they're perfect for measuring 4 oz or for using them for pudding, yogurt, etc. you will very quickly learn to eyeball what 4 oz looks like. I still use my scale for every single meal just to be sure, but definitely invest in a food scale also

I'm gonna be 32 in April and wish I had it done in my early 20s. been struggling with weight since like the 2nd grade. I was finally sleeved on 12/17 with a loss of 55 lbs to date! congrats and good luck on your journey. if you need to talk you can always send me a message (:

no bubbles for me either..even though I'd sacrifice a toe for some seltzer every now and then lol but definitely not worth the risk! apparently I hear it can be very painful too..

I just finished a 5 day pred pack (NO TAPER!!) for laryngitis that I've been suffering with for 3 weeks with no explanation. I didn't get hungry so much as I was craving random things lol I tried to just distract myself than to give in, which is so hard to be honest. I finished like 4 days ago and have been dealing with insane fatigue. all I wanna do is sleep. but I suggest that you definitely drink some extra Water to flush the bloat. that was the worst part of it in my opinion

OBSESSED with that show!! lol I'm in class every night til 1130p so I dvr it. me and my wife watch the next day.

in all honesty, I had to do a two week strict clear liquid diet and wanted to die lol every time my wife made a sandwich id steal a piece of turkey or have some steamed veggies. I wound up losing 17lbs in those 2 weeks. I stopped the "cheating" about 3 days before and stuck with only liquids. my surgery was dec 17 and I'm down 39lbs since. my sleeve doesn't dislike anything which is both a blessing and a curse lol just get back on yack. you'll be fine (: good luck!
-
your focus should strictly be on Protein (60-80 but def try for the higher end) and 64oz of fluids. no need to worry about calories so soon out (:

I, too, have never taken a pain killer in fear of becoming addicted. I didn't know but they gave me some morphine right after surgery. it made me soooooooo nauseous and a horrible Migraine. for the duration of my hospitalization (just overnight) I requested a tylenol drip. that was plenty for me as I didn't have an extreme amount of pain. good luck!

yes!! I have actually tried those things...just to see if I was able to eat them.
rice is fine but honestly I only had about a teaspoon of brown rice
the Pasta I had was pasta zero (please look this up!!!! it's amazing!)
and I had bread once and it was at longhorn steakhouse. I was able to take about 3-4 bites of a slice of bread and while it was fine it did feel a little heavy.
I'm choosing not to eat those things because it's part of the reason I got here in the first place (: lol
