I am so mad and frusterated lately - I have been suprising people with my emotions. I can't numb myself with food.< /p>
-
I recommend the book - The Beck Diet Soultion
The title is misleading - it is not a diet, it is a way of helping you change habits and deal with your emotions.

Bali bras are the best, lots of places sell them. I love them and I am a 44 DD

It would be nice to have a section for pregnant bandsters or women that have the band and plan to be pregnant. I plan to have more kids and worry/wonder about what will happen with my band during pregnancy, delivery, breast feedding, etc. Will I need an unfill? Will I gain weight? etc, etc

I was thinking about buying a nutrition book on the internet. I have realized that since being banded I don't know what to eat, since all the crap I used to eat I can not. Not sure how to start, so many receipes to try, feel overwhelmed.

Lost 7 pounds pre surgery and 7 pounds in the month since surgery. Part of me thinks that is great and part of me is fixated on why I didn't loose any weight last week. I know I need a fill since I don't get full very quickly. Worked out three times last week.
Not sure what will happen when I weigh myself on Sunday, what if I gain? ARRRGGGHHH

Get chewable Lactaid to eat right before you drink or eat something with dairy in it. It helps you digest it.

I am so stupid - I didn't think about what I was eating and ate some cold Pasta with chicken. Some how it was o.k. due to the chicken. It all came back up about 10 minutes ago.
My doc had said it was o.k. to start trying 'real" food. I was told to make pasta one of the last foods to try since most banded people can not tolerant it.
AARRGHH!!! I didn't think - I feel do dumb.
Have you guys had this happen? Now I am worried about how this will affect my band!!!!
Comments and experiences welcomed!

I am six days post lap-band surgery. My chest hurts. Right where my bra would go? Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

I was banded 11/27. I was nauseous from the meds.
I had been in pain. Take your pain meds from the doc religiously. I took some gas-x last night and feel like a new person, I am still burbing a lot.
I can tell where my port is it still hurts the most. I am in ID and it is snowing so I am walking on the treadmill very slowly and just pacing around the house as much as I can.

I had my surgery on Tuesday and have been burbing up a storm. I took some gas-x (chewable) last night and this morning and it really helped.
I can feel it when I swallow stuff too, it is such a wierd feeling and getting so full after having such a small amount of something. I have been taking 2 ibeprofen with my liquid pain meds and I swear that it has been helping with the discomfort and swelling.

Perhaps other people have asked these questions, but I am 2 days post band...
I am in pain even with meds, is that normal?
Can only sleep on couch upright or my stiches hurt so bad I cuss.
Water and food take a while to get down sometimes, is that normal?
Also, have been walking as much as I can and heating up my back with a heating pad which was lovely I slept for 4 hours straight.
Just let me know if you experienced these things and how long it took to feel better.
Thanks a head of time.

If your MIL is going to help you out after the surgery you are going to need to tell her. Will she be less upset or more upset when you tell her 2-3 days ahead of time that you need her help. Let your husband tell her since it is his mom and he should give her a lecture on how he supports you and how she should be supportive or keep her mouth shut.
Good Luck!

How did you do your ticker and stuff? Is that under signature? I am new and need help.

I am from Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. I am being banded next week in Seattle, WA. I am curently 295. I am very nervous and excited about this whole surgery. I have a 14 month old and my husband will be having to take over more of the baby duties until I recover enough. Am very scared to be put out. Am also scared that my little guy will want me to hold him or pick him up and I won't be able to for a week or two.
I start on my liquid diet before the surgery tomorrow.
Did anyone else get banded and have a little one to take care of. Experiences and advice is appreciated.

I am getting my surgery on 11/27. The psychiatrist at the place I am getting my surgery done at suggested that I tell everyone that I confide in, and family unless I think they will be very negative and unsupportive about it. I am not telling accquaitances or distant family like cousins.
So far I have told my mom, brother, dad, grandma and my three good girlfriends. I am not telling my grandpa because he is not supportive and a very negative person in general. Also not telling my nother in law for the same reason. They can find out later.
I am not lieing about it either. If my grandpa or mother in law was to ask a direct question I would tell them, but it is unlikely that they will.:scared:
