  2. Good luck! I used tricare as well.
  3. I take centrium chewables. You don't have to buy the bariatric specific ones. Also you don't have to have chewables. Just no gummy kinds since they lack thiamine. Do your research and consult your surgeon and team. They know best.
  4. I'm on the pill. My surgeon advised me that I will be fine as far as effectiveness goes.
  5. My surgeon required a month without hormonal bc. It's because you are more likely to develope blood clots. I had to stop my depo two months ago. My date is Feb 2nd.
  6. I bought strawberry but haven't tried the other flavors. Sam's club carries 3 and I'll be buying a couple more cases pretty soon. I like the strawberry but I'd like to taste the others.
  7. February 2nd here for bypass
  8. My date of surgery is different than admit date on the tricare website. I was approved with admit date of January 12 but I just got an actual date yesterday for February 2nd.
  9. Woot! I'm scheduled for February 2nd. Happy birthday to me! My birthday is February 4th lol hopefully I'll get out that day but no rush.
  10. This sounds yummy. I'm one to play with my spices an have plenty in the kitchen. I just may do something like this post op.
  11. Hi! I'm 24 and I am getting my surgery date on this coming up Thursday. I hope to have it within the next 2-3 weeks. I'm excited! I hope everything goes well for you!
  12. My nutritionist told me no gummies since they lack thiamine. I did, however, end up ordering the chewables plus Iron.
  13. I was told different insurance companies have different requirements. I'm on tricare prime south and they did require a medically supervised diet. I did one like two years ago and they accepted those records. The diet is 3 months. Then they wanted another three months of prep. I did all the nutrition, diet, exercise classes and had my evaluation. Now I have an update appointment next week and will schedule a surgery date. It's baby steps. They want you to mentally be able to handle the drastic life changes ahead. Just keep your patience and stay strong. And do your best. We all know your struggles and are here for you ????
  14. So I got my letter of approval from my insurance. I wanted to know if there are any Tricare prime folks out there? My referral was submitted 12/26/14 and the approval was 12/31/14. How's long did it take your surgeon to get back to you?
  15. Where do you get them from with insurance paying? I'd like to look into that.
  16. One thing to remember, some insurances change their plans from time to time. For example, I have tricare and they don't cover the gastric sleeve, but with it being the new year I need to check and see if that has changed. I know tricare will cover skin removal if deemed medically necessary (causing rashes, UTI... etc). They won't cover an augmentation, or the full tummy tuck (muscle tightening) or body lift. You should look at their website and see if you could find anything or maybe give them a call. It wouldn't hurt to get more information for now and when the time comes check to see if anything has changed.
  17. I have sleep apnea as well. My bariatric advocate informed me to bring my CPAP machine for post op. She said it helps with anesthesia for those on the machine. I just got approved for surgery by my insurance and I am waiting to set a surgery date. I'm getting excited and nervous at the same time.
  18. On mobile all recent topics are on 'timeline'and right under the topic is the actual forum its posted under. I'm always in bed reading and I recently figured this out. I'm still pretty new here so don't feel bad. It was an honest mistake ????
  19. Looks like this thread died down a little. My name is Lisa and I'm living in Jacksonville Florida. I'll be using doctor Uchal in riverside. I just recently completed all meetings and I'm waiting for my advocate to submit everything for approval.
  20. The mayo clinic here in Jacksonville can be slow at times. Just a heads up, be patient. But other than that it's a great facility. I used to have patients who went there (I worked in a pharmacy )
