  1. I have been approved for my sleeve and surgery has been set for January 20th. I am now going to go through the process of making sure I have everything I need post op. That being said, I did read that lots of folks like the unjury Protein. Wondering if there are any others that people really like. I also am wondering what the best mulitvitamin to use post op. Do you use mulitvitamin/mineral combo or separately. Do you take a Calcium and Biotin for hair? Just wondering what everyone's post op regimine is. I am nervous/scared/excited at this point. Thanks for any info
  2. So i took my hpylori test last Thursday, had my pre-op testing and education yesterday, my HP and visit with my surgeons happen Friday and Surgery is next Tuesday. I am so excited and nervous now. I am so ready for this. I had a strange issue with my tech that did my EKG. She was almost annoyed with me. She said I wasn't "big enough" to have this surgery. Why is it that folks smaller think i am too big and those bigger don't think i am big enough. What ticks me off most is that this is not a vanity thing for me....much like the majority of you I am sure, this is health motivated not looks. I am doing this because my fasting sugar is high and i am on blood pressure meds. My bio dad is a severe diabetic and has horrible neuropathy. He has also had a number of heart attacks. I don't want to wait until it's too late for me to do something about this. I was however so afraid of being judged for my decision. I did however break down and tell my mother. She was surprisingly supportive. So now my best friend, husband, children and mom know. I think i am good to go. Counting the days.

    I'm kinda disappointed

I was told that much like any weight loss, you need to look at this as kind of a stairway. You will loose, stay still...loose...stay still. and so on......it will depend on the diet and exercise of course. My surgeon requires support groups and a body pump class post op. Can't wait to start those.
  5. That so funny...guess i should have looked a bit harder. I just posted pretty much the same thing. Wonderful answers were received. My surgeon's office does what they call bariatric bootcamp where you receive what they call the bariatric bible going over everything. Rumor has it, it's a pretty thick book. Looking forward to getting that.

Got my date. Now I'm scared!

Same boat. I will be in surgery two days before you. I am very excited and nervous. I am not sure how your clinic runs things. I have what they call Bariatric Boot Camp on the thirteenth so I am hoping that answers a lot of the unknowns. I did find out from these forums the basics on what I needed which is awesome. I have a cupboard full of Jello free jello and my husband will buy my popsicles. Besides my husband and my kids only my sister knows that i am doing this. My mother and my other sister would not understand. So as far as recovery...my house, my bed with my daughter helping. Keep in touch......i would love to know how yours goes too
