Mensural issues post op TMI Alert

Thanks. I have such a low threshold for pain that it is probably not as bad as some, but I just wanted to pass out it hurt so bad today. Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen tomorrow

    Protein

It didn't desolve well in my coffee, but was perfect in my mashed potatoes
  3. I had the RNY bypass and although I am only 4 weeks post-op, I am able to take small sips while I eat. It's really just enough to wet my mouth. I have always been a big water drinker at all times so that has been one of the more difficult things for me. My mom is 9 years post-op and she has no problem having a little to drink with her food.
  4. Update on progress (3 weeks post-op): I have lost 22 pounds since my pre-op. My surgeon says I am doing so well that he advanced my diet a week early! I can now eat fruits and veggies (except for grapes, raisins, and iceberg lettuce), but I have to wait a few weeks for citrus fruits. I can eat chicken, turkey, shrimp, crab, and fish. No red meat or pork for at least two months. Dinner tonight? Chicken Chop Suey!

Ah! Penny! Why?!?!?(My 600 lb life)

They have a follow up with her posted online, but it is just an interview. She seems to still be up to her old ways. I am three weeks post op today and it was physically hurting me to watch her eat that plate of wontons and pasta so quickly after surgery. He husband seems like a nice enough guy, but that low self-esteem is making him an enabler. If he would just change his buying habits, she would have to eat better.

Isopure is pretty expensive, but the cheapest I have found it was on the The Vitamin Shoppe's website

    Post op Diet questions?

I am on soft foods currently, but I eat the cheese off of a cheese pizza which gives me the taste of eating pizza. Also my surgeon wanted me to take 1000mg of calcium, so I found this amazing little low sugar chocolates that I can suck or over chew, they taste great and leave you feeling like you had a sweet. You will find that it is the little things that make you happy, especially immediately post op. My mom is 9 years post op and she eats anything she wants, just not much of it.

Scared to Death for Post Op

Yes I was scared the day before and the morning of surgery. When I first woke up from surgery I was in a great deal of pain and but that ended with the pain meds. The fear ended when they brought me into the surgical room and had some awesome rock music playing. The nurses were joking with me and then when the anesthesiologist came in, the nurses said the bartender was there with the good stuff, the atmosphere definitely helped to calm my nerves.

Scared to Death for Post Op

I am begging to think I am a poster child of the surgery because I have been able to tolerate everything so far. I have not gotten sick once, poo is normal, and no pain. Other than being mean to people when I come off of anesthesia, it has been pretty easy. The liquid diet was boring and got old quick (even though it only lasted a week and now the soft food diet is my new boredom, but I only have another week of that left as well. I haven't felt any pain or had any issues, although other than being overweight before, I had no other issues.

    Dec. 15th anyone?

No hair loss at two weeks post opt. I don't know that I get enough protein, but I take an awesome multivitamin that is super packed with biotin and some zinc, my surgeon said it will help with hair loss.
  12. I use the celebrate multivitamin, it does particularly taste good, but it is the best that I have found and it is super packed with vitamins.
  13. If it is an option, go with Kaiser. They covered mine 100%

    Pre op diet

My surgeon only made me go off of starch for the month before surgery and a liquid diet the day before.
  15. My surgeon said the normal release is 1-2 days, but most of his clients stayed 2 days. I stayed 2 days which was good because I was still in a decent amount of pain the day after.
  16. My surgeon said I cannot drive for a full week and must be off my pain meds, which I am as of post-op day four. Today is day five and I am working on walking around the block for current exercise.

Lower back pain 4 days post op

Yeah I plan to watch it. My surgeon said it my be because I am still on my period. It really just feels like I slept wrong. I guess we will see
  18. Is it normal? It feels like I just slept twisted, but it is still sore. The pressure in my stomach feels like it is getting better each day though.

    Post-Op Fatigue

That's great that you went to the game, my surgery was the 15th and I have just been a hermit at home. The stomach pressure is fading, but my back was sore all day today.

    New here

My surgery was on the 15th as well. I only had to be on a liquid diet for one day before as well. I went home yesterday
