  1. OK, Plain... let's talk issues.

John McCain wants to buy out all the bad morgages and give the home buyers better rates.

I own my home outright, but my 75 year old mother has a morgage. I don't even want to think of the government being her landlord. That is an insain proposition.

That's just ridiculous spin.....I understood it to be that the banks would still hold the mortgage, but they would reduce the principle balance to reflect the reduced value of the home.

John McCain wants to complain that Obama doesn't have a financial plan, yet during the debate, his response to how to take care of social security was to say something like "it's simple... Ronald Reagan did it... we can do it again..." and then never said how he would do it. When asked about Medicare, he said something like "that's harder... I will get a group of the smartest people together and we will find out." That's not a plan, that is an I don't have a clue" answer.

Seemed to me like he was trying to fit his answer in the allotted time given by Tom Brokaw, I think plans such as these would take more time to respond in complete detail than the broadcast has to give. Tom kept reminding them over and over about keeping their answers w/in the time.

  2. Well ulp, gosh Missy G. you ought to listen to Rush. I'll bet you'd find him interesting too. He has a whole lot to say on all kinds of (made up)subjects and he certainly has interesting ways of looking at today's topics. Just as Ann Coulter's way of looking at stuff is interesting. They are certainly great at adult conversation. I'm so relieved that they are around to bring such fascinating viewpoints (lies) to public light.

Golly gee, sarcasm is such fun sometimes!

Well ulp, gosh BJean, no thanks. I'll just listen to you to educate me on all the (made up) subjects and your fascinating viewpoints (lies), and have great adult conversation. Just so I'm straight here, if you disagree with them, they are lying and if you agree, they are telling the truth right? K, just wanted to make sure that is how it works.

Golly gee, I cand wait fer u to edurdacate me....cuz i done no nutthin bout these here politicals n stuf......i jus nevr no whoos lyin er whoos telin truthe....

You're right, sarcasm IS fun! LOL

  3. Sorry you all feel so offended by my saying he has stumpy arms. He does, get over it. Why don't you repubs have anything else to bring to the discussion besides that. Oh, because you have nothing else to bring. Get over it. Yes he has stumpy arms and thats a fact. Deal with it.

YOU'RE the one who brought this into the discussion.

I don't even know what to say anymore....totally pathetic

Why is it that comments like these go largely unnoticed but the "other" comment warranted a scolding from Susan the moderator??? This person is CLEARLY attacking another person for a physical trait and nothing is said directly to them to stop this??? Does it make a difference if the party being attacked is not present on this board, so that makes it ok?

It is soooo obvious what's going on here.

BTW, I'm NOT a republican. I just happen to believe that name calling is soooo childish and has no place either in politics or any other aspect of our lives.

I expect that Susan the Moderator will also tell this person in no uncertain terms that these personal attacks will stop.

    OUTRAGEOUS

  4. So calling him "Stumpy Arms" is just a description of him, huh?

Would you use that same language to describe somebody who you DO like? A troop that just came home from war with an amputated limb, would you say, Hey, Stumpy Arms, welcome home!! You know it is a disparaging comment against him personally yet you try to pass it off as a mere "description". PLEASE, at least call it for what it is.

By the way, he does not have stumps for arms, so your DESCRIPTION of him is incorrect. He simply may not have full range of motion.

  5. There is nothing low about it. Truth is truth. Deal with it or don't. Just because you don't agree doesn't change the fact. Yes, it is unfortunate that this happend to him during that time. I usually don't call people out on their physical differences, but this is one person that I must. You can say what you want and feel what you feel. It doesn't change a thing for me.:cool2:

The fact that you feel that way, is even MORE disturbing.

    Again, WOW......

  6. I kind of get McCain's answer, Wheet. Sure, he chose an absurdist style to make his point, but I think his point is this: Income is not strictly a numbers game. $150,000 for a family living in Manhattan is not the same as $150,000 for a family living in Texarkana.

EXACTLY!!! Thank you for pointing that out!

  7. Well, those things you mention are certainly up for debate. I for one happen to think his choice for VP was brilliant. It has completely revitalized his campaign.

I am not going to disparage Obama/Biden (like you do every chance you get with McCain/Palin). I like to think I'm above all that. I feel that pointing out their differences point by point is sufficient, but not in a disparaging and angry way. Whichever ideals are closer to my own, there it is.

I think this is going to be a very exciting election and am really looking forward to some great debates between 2 very different political tickets.

  8. I felt just a tinge of disappointment in the results, but nonetheless, this was an awesome season!!! They both were amazing singers with completely different styles, which is great!

I am sure going to miss this show for the next 7 months.....but at least I won't be a slave to the tv anymore!!

My favorite part of the show last night was when Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. were back-up singers for Gladys Knight. That was so funny!!!

  9. My doctor refers to fills as "adjustments". So I don't think that is a stupid question at all. Ask away people!!!!

Some people just don't have patience. Some are quick to tell people "....don't read the rants and raves if you don't like our complaining..."

How about "...don't read the questions you consider ignorant if you don't like it...."

  10. What did ya'll think of whatzername's performance - last years winner? I cannot think of her name right this minute. Brain freeze. She sort of put Lucy to shame with the hair color.

Do you mean Fantasia? I've never been a fan of hers, so I shouldn't say much.....but I will anyway! EEWWW, didn't like it AT ALL! Was actually watching it thinking.....WTF???

Not good, not good....in my opinion.....

  11. BTW, Sayesha was a CLASS ACT. She did fantastic all the way through the competition, she was respectful to the judges, even when they didn't deserve it. I hope she has a wonderful career doing what she loves, she deserves it!!!!

    Bye Syesha!!

  12. Now that it is down to the two David's it doesn't much matter to me who wins because either way, they are both so talented and have amazing careers in front of them. I think little David would be a better "Idol" so they can steer him and mold him into a performer?

David Cook is mature enough to go out on his own and make it, in fact it seems to me that would be the better way to go for David C. so he doesn't have the "Idol" baggage, he can find his own label and do what he wants, much like it has worked out for Daughtry.

Anyhoo.....I'm so glad that Dancing w/ the Stars and American Idol are soon to be over so I can get my nights back. I have been a slave to the TV for toooo long now!!! LOL

  13. MissyG: Peggy Lee could sing a song like that better than anyone before or since. Did you ever see "Lady and the Tramp"? Remember the sexy gal at the dog pound who sang that song about Tramp - "He's a Tramp, but I love him"? That was Peggy Lee's voice.

Nope, I've never seen Lady and the Tramp.
