  1. I went to the dietician 2 days ago and am back to the basics as well! I'm 3 years post op and have gained back 27lbs! It is so frustrating, but I am back to measuring cups and following the program, I am seeing my dietician weekly until I get to my goal weight. :). You can do this!!! I can do this!! We all can do this!! ????

  2. I was there for a long time. I am about 3.5 years post op. I did great the first 2 years. I was down 75 lbs and loving it and this last year I creeped back up to 223. How to get back? For me I need to be accountable, so I scheduled an appt with the dietician and surgeon for a fill. I will be seeing my dietician once a week until I get this weight back off and get to my goal weight. I just had to yell at myself a little bit and get myself going. I started feeling that same depression I had pre-banding and I knew I couldn't keep going the way I was. It takes a lot of work, but you can do it!!! It is so worth it, and I'm thankful for my band everyday! Pre-planning is a huge huge must for me,measuring, and tracking everything I eat. If I follow the meal plan, I really don't have time to make bad choices, because I'm constantly eating or drinking something.

Do you have a post op buddy or have you been to support groups? I spent a lot of time with my friends and on the phone with a girl that had surgery the same day as me 3.5 years later and her and I are still great friends and encourage each other. You can also peruse the lap band success stories, these things always encourage and motivate me, but it also helps to see that in most of the posts, they struggled mentally at some point. :). You can do this! Just make yourself, sometimes the motivation comes From just doing it, and then ya realize that you feel better when you're in control! I hope this helps a little bit! Best wishes to you for all of the success in the world! You will be great!

  3. Hi all, wanted to give you an update. I had my second fill this past Thursday at 1cc so now I'm at 5cc. I'm definitely feeling the restriction. I'm down 5 more lbs since then. I started lifting weights and doing cardio 4x's a week now and I cannot believe how much energy I have. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a jolt of energy?

That's great!!! Way to go!!!! I definitely had a jolt of energy after being banded, and major confidence boost once I started losing, which helped with the energy even more!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!

  4. You can do this! The band is a tool, not magic. It is like weight watchers on steroids. We still have to make the right decisions on what to eat. Unfortunately the band is a tool, it doesn't fix the mind or the emotions or the initial cause of how we came to need WLS. Let the band help, but ultimately it takes a lot of work and self learning, taking a hard look in the mirror and see what's more important junk food or health... It's up to is. I have gained back about 20 lbs of my 85 lb loss, went back to the dietician yesterday and back on track.

  5. How many ounces are you trying to eat per meal? Maybe talk with your dietician and see if they can help. Sometimes they can give you advice. Are you eating slowly and taking your time with your meal? I've had problems with that in the past eating way too fast and spitting up. I have also tried eating too much at a meal and the wrong foods. I am back to eating 4-6 oz a meal half is Protein and I'll have a Protein Shake in between meals.

  6. I had my lap band surgery in June of 2011. I went from 275 the morning of surgery to 193, but in the last year have slowly went up to 220. I haven't had a full in 2 years. I am scheduled for an appointment with the dietician tomorrow morning and a fill on Jan 7th! Ready to get started again and go back to the basics!!! Anyone else been in this position or going through it right now?
