  1. Rhonda, I am Armenian and my tribe loves to cook, eat, and send home large quantities. I'm 4 months post -op and I find myself questioning if I am really hungry or just brain hungry. My real hunger left post sleeve and I took the acid reflux meds. They helped a lot. I don't watch the food commercials any more. I hit mute, as I figure I don't need/ or am helped by ads telling me to eat crap food. Nope, don't need it. Life is so much better. Hang in there.

    "Thank God for My Sleeve!"

Aliyah14, I'm glad to have straightened that out and you are welcome. As a matter of fact, I don't know any atheists who worship Satan. We don't much believe in Satan either. Best of luck on your weight loss journey. Paula

    "Thank God for My Sleeve!"

Not surprised that a "believer" thinks that non believers worship Satan. Really? I believe in the kindness of strangers. I believe if I eat too much, too often, or high carb food, I will sabotage my sleeve. I believe I don't have to be fat forever and my support group helps a lot! There are many more things I believe in, but God, from any religion is not one ofthem
  4. You look so pretty. Now just keep reminding yourself of that. Great work. Paula
  5. Anyone experiencing difficulties when responding to posts? After I have written 3or4 paragraphs, a tag line appears and says " There is an error with this website. It is being reloaded." Then everything I have written disappears and I have to start again. How frustrating. Is it just me?

    Fairlife product 19g protein

    Where do you find this?
  8. From day one I have had a challenge getting in all my Protein. A lot of it was because I hated the taste of most Protein shakes. For that matter getting in enough Water was no picnic either. I'm not complaining. Handling these challenges is nothing compared to struggling with my weight, so this is a challenge I'm happy to take on. So that being said I have come up with a mega shake that gives me a jump start on my protein intake. 1 100 calorie Chobani yogurt -blueberry or strawberry ( 12gr. pro.) container Premier Protein shake-strawberry ( 30 gr pro) , 1/2scoop Injury Protein powder -in Strawberry Sorbet. (10.5 gr. pro.) And a small handful of frozen berries -your choice. Mix in blender. Do not over blend or you will end up with a lot of foam. This makes 3cups of Shake with 52.5 gr. of protein. I drink some for Breakfast, and then refrigerate the rest to drink throughout the day. A fruity yummy treat, give it a try.

    Any December 30th Sleevers ?!

I just brok through a barrier myself today. I had been sitting at this weight for 3wks too. I was told to up my water and protein ( which pushed up my calories) and finally the scale moved. So stalls happen. Change things up and trust the surgery. Have you been loosing inches? I lost inches during the stall. Good luck Paula
  14. I've seen it too. But I haven't tried it.
  15. Thank you so much . I love your ideas and am eager to try them. What brand of protein do you use? Thanks, Paula
  16. A dear friend of mine was given medical marajuana to help her keep down food while going through chemo. It made an immense difference in her life. Perhaps a visit to CA is in your future. But in the mean time call your friend and smoke a little for your own good. Perhaps smoking for a short time will get you over the hump and slowly you will be able to introduce food back into your life. Ideal.? No, but perhaps this is a more holistic approach for you. Like all your other bariatric pals, I wish you well. Paula

    Big Binder of BS

I too have uUnited healthcare and an Optim nurse coordinator, but it turned out that the customer service rep.from UHC was asking/and requiring things that were Not required by my policy. So, just double check with the Optimum Nurse. She saved me lots of paperwork and grief. Best of luck to you. Paula
  18. And let this be a lesson.......to me. I tend to learn things the hard way.

    Favorite Liquid Diet Food/Drink

I like Premier protein shakes. Chocolate is my favorite, but when you can add ingredients, the Premier protein in strawberry and vanilla are good too. Unjury makes a good strawberry sorbet flavor. The "whey" drinks weren't for me, but try as mant as you can. Good Luck!
  20. I'm one and 1/2 months post op. and while I don't have any regrets, I surely don't have the hang of it yet. Today I still repeated some of the same stupid stuff I did before my surgery. This morning I was very stressed about going to the hospital to support a friend who was having surgery. I got up extra early to stop and have Breakfast. I ordered a full breakfast. ( no coffee or drink) . When it came I was only able to eat about 4 bites of egg and one very small mouthful of potato. I took the rest of it to go. After the hospital, 6 hrs later I had another2 bites of breakfast before I threw 99% of it away, I didn't over eat. But I did handle my stress by trying to comfort myself with food. I KNEW there was no way I would eat all that ( or even touch the toast) but I ordered it anyway. This has me very shaken. I have found myself going and looking in the fridge. I don't get anything ( not that I keep any forbidden food in the house) but I still look. WTH? This behavior is counter productive to my goals. But there it is. Do I just need more practice handling these situations? Any body else go through this in their early months?
  21. A couple of my favorites: " What an unkind thing to say. What ever made you say that ?" And for those way too personal questions: " What an extremely personal question. Why ever would you ask that? " Then, of course I smile sweetly awaiting their reply. Usually it's a lot of back peddling.

    Less activity

Hi, I'm 63 and was sleeved on Dec. 30, just in time for the new year. My recovery from day one was much easier than expected. What I suggest for newbies is measure yourself, or get your SOB ( significant other being) to do it for you. At week 3 I hit a stall. And though my weight hasn't budged much, the inches are melting away. I put on a pair of pants the other day, but couldn't wear them because they looked like clown pants. I'm wearing pants I bought on sale, just incase I ever lost some weight, and they will soon be too big. I don't know why the scale doesn't reflect the loss of inches, but it should all work out eventually. I'm still challenged by getting enough Water in, but I am filled with hope and promise. Wish I had done this sooner, but oh well. Good Luck and stay on your path. Paula

    "Thank God for My Sleeve!"

Personally, I thank the scientists and pioneering surgeons who came up with this option. I also thank the surgeons who worked to make this surgery laparoscopic and in the case of my well trained surgeon, utilizing robotic equipment. My recovery was so easy and for that I am thankful....but not to God.
