My friends have noticed the weightloss in my face,,i have noticed also that while I cant fit into a 16 yet my size 18 jeans are almost falling off me. The way the surgeon's office talked I would lose most of my weight in the first 3mons or so postop. Well I have lost about half my weight since I was approved for surgery last summer. -

Well I noticed one major thing, my feet shrank down to a size 9! I've been a size 10 shoe for 11yrs, I was a woman's 9 since I was 10yrs old. I was able to grab a new pair of shoes in my new/old size today. For me this is huge. I haven't needed my lasix since the last week of January. Here's hoping my congestive heart failure is in remission. -
How much is the avg weightloss in the 1st month postop? Especially those of us who were borderline qualifying before surgery. Postop I have lost about 18lbs and am thrilled., I weighed in @182lbs over the weekend. However, my clothes sizes haven't changed since surgery. I'm still wearing a size 18 in jeans. Any thoughts?

I was told to use miralax and colasce to start, after several days, no joy, was told to try the mag citrate, that made me sick and I lost my mojo, finally was told to try good ol milk of mag, that got things moving! But had the stomach flu the last couple of days....not awesome

Well I lost 2lbs postop when I saw the surgeon last week, but when I saw the family doc today I gained back the 2lbs plus 2 more....damnit.

My only complaint postop has been about being plugged up...took almost a week to get back flowing again, and I just want it to stop lol..Other than that, eating and drinking were a nonissue, have no issues getting my food, shakes and drinks down.. I am enjoying the ability to walk 2-3miles a day on my errand days.. This surgery was far easier than my csections and gallbladder.

That explains why I recovered so fast. I was already on a potassium regimen for almost 2 yrs preop. And tomato soup is one of my favorite things. Lol. I don't want to brag, but I was back to my high pace lifestyle last weekend, minus the housework. Lost another 2lbs since surgery too.

I do, from rhe incisions stretching a bit. Today I walked 3000 steps, my shoes are killing my feet lol. Waiting on my husband to finish checking out at Sams then limp off to the conversion van parked in the outer reaches of the Sam's universe.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2004.

Well I got home and looked @ my pedometer app on my phone, I did 4000 steps today. I think that's really good 4 days postop. I did have to take a dose of Hydrocodone after getting home, but I feel great otherwise. I don't think I remember feeling this good this soon after a surgery. I really hope everyone who has had surgery this week is doing as well as me or better.

Today is the 1st day I have left the house since I came home from thw hospital, been out shopping and stuff, but I feel pretty good, starting to feel a bit sore, otherwise no complaints 4 postop. We'll see what tomorrow holds.

Question of the day, does anyone know why the surgeon would stop me taking my ambien? I'm a chronic insomniac, even when I was skinny I was on meds to regulate my sleep hours. I haven't called or emailed the doc's office yet. -
I'm doing ok other than dizzy, had lotsa nausea yesterday .As much as I dislike the idea, I'm going home this afternoon, but then I may do better at home too. Grape frost isopure is the nastiest thing I think I have tasted in a while.

I have my suitcase packed, laundry done, clean bedding on the bed, going to take the 1st of my 2 showers in a couple of hrs. Trying to spend plenty of snuggle time with the hubby, he needs it. I'm the calm one lol

The liquid diet has been easy, in fact I wasn't hungry often this week. What wasn't fun was the bathroom trips.

I had a nicotine test this week, depends on the doctor whether they test or not. He will cancel surgery if the test is positive. Nicotine and the other chemicals in tobacco products impede and cause life threatening complications with recovery. WildGrits is right, it's a complete blood panel with a through check of everything. The Nurse Coordinator called me to complain that I'm anemic preop lol. I'm a paleskinned redhead, duh lol.

I can't believe Monday is almost here, omg.....*races around*
