purrfctangel replied to Jerr_Bear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's usually 3-6 months from consult to surgery depending on dr, insurance and other requirements. Seems like they are all different. Take the time to educate yourself. There's so much to learn and new things all the time. -

On old diets, gravy was bad. Are there any better than others? -
Started last June and two surgeons, two states and three insurances later I'm scheduled March 30th. Over that time I've given up carbinated drinks, fast food and junk food. Joined the gym and do a protein drink for breakfast every day. Ordered bunches of sample shakes and vitamins. Bought a vitamix and a vacuum sealer. I'm ready for pre-op and no fears of surgery. Nervous about the life changing afterwards but it's full stream ahead! So glad for these forums.

@@sassycas45 My preop is protein shakes and one small meal a day. I have tons of samples to make shakes, premier protein RTD, unflavored protein to mix with crystal light. They suggested a lean cuisine type meal 1x day but I'd rather cook my own. We can push each other lol! -

Got told by a coworker today that I'm taking the "easy way"
purrfctangel replied to Jerr_Bear's topic in Rants & Raves
I had to go to the unemployment office - just moved to NJ and am looking for a job. Had to tell them i couldn't do this required class yet because i had surgery scheduled. She looked at me and said what kind? I was speechless for a moment, wanted to say none of your f##ng business! I just said stomach surgery. Not only is that rude (it wasn't asked nicely) but i think illegal? Grrr -
