Stomach making weird noises
Dee951 replied to cbp0229's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lmao @@anaxila that's the best laugh it have had since surgery 1/28! Thank you! Mine rumbles too. Are those hunger pains or what? Depends on what I'm sipping on I think I feel it thud in my new stomach. -
I didn't get liquid pain meds until day after surgery and it came right back up. After that they gave it thru iv. The 3rd day out it took me a while to drink the liquid. They gave me a dose before discharge too. I have only used about 2ozs of it since being home.

Started my Kaiser class again today..YAY!
Dee951 replied to Dualstarr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Dualstarr kaiser has 12 weeks of classes. At least in riverside (ca) they do. Once the classes were over I had to wait for my referral to a contracted outside surgeon. I did start to worry between the referral and actual appt with the surgeon. And I will be honest I gained a few pounds between the end of class and my appt. Which they tell you not to, but luckily I got back on track and lost the few pounds I gained before my consultation. Once you get the consult it's pretty much a done deal. My consult was dec 9th and they offered me a surgery date jan 14th! But I picked the 28th of January instead. My advice to you is to get your Vitamins and so on now and into a regular schedule of taking them. That way your labs and all that will be good to go. You will do great! -

I'm done telling folks. They don't get it
Dee951 replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my family first. My mom was very supportive and my kids just said mom you don't need that. I told a few friends and co workers once I started taking the required classes. I was talking to a coworker and she said don't tell to many people. She said because then you will find people watching you and what you eat and so on. I thought well people are going to judge either way. That's just life! Life would be much more pleasant if we support and accept each other but that's not the real world. I have just decided to do the best I can and focus on my goals. -

Dee951 replied to sleeveittobelieveit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@sleeveittobelieveit my surg date is Jan 28th. I'm excited, but today for some reason it's really hitting that I'm about to have surgery!!! This will be my first time having any kind of surgery. I'm only on liquid diet for one day before surgery. But for the last 6 wks I was on high protein no starch diet. I was telling a co-worker it's hard to not think about it when the day is so close now. -
@@Busymomof3 did you have your Mirena before surgery? I am so grateful that my periods are much lighter than they use to be. I used to have to wear two pads and a tampon. Now it's just a tampon and sometimes not even that. My issue with the mirena is that my period can last up to 15 days. I have had 3 different ob providers tell me it's normal to have the spotting...I say ok but 15 days straight!? I have an ultrasound and all that. It's in the right place and everything. So I am wondering and praying that after surgery I will have no period/spotting at all and if that is to much to ask then please God just a few days and not 15 long days

@Ready_For_Me_13 Congrats on your surgery. Happy to hear you are doing well. Thats awesome in regards to your pre-op diet. I am going to take it one meal at a time line @@Jana64 says. My nutrionist said the same thing oe meal at a time. @@Jana64, I just bought a new puzzle that's what I do to clear my head. I know that sitting for long periods will not be so good after surgery so I am going to pick up some books for post op recovery. Post a picture of one of your paintings would love to see one. Thank you ladies for sharing with me.

I have the Mirena iud. My periods were very heavy prior to the iud. They say some women have no period with it, but I guess I am one of the rare exceptions. It's very light, to the point where I feel silly calling it a period more like spotting but it last for days...... I am curious to see if I will not have a period at all after surgery. fingers crossed!!!

I am feeling the same way. It seems like it is coming to fast! Seems like just meet my surgeon (Dec 9th). My surgery is Jan 28 and the closer I get the more I have cravings and worry will I be able to do the liquid pre-op diet. It's a mixture of excitement and being nervous. I have never had surgery before. I gave my self two weeks to slowly give up the things on the surgeon's list of things not to have. And he told me not to gain anything before surgery. I have weighed myself since meeting him and I was down 2 more pounds. But as of today I am even scared to weigh myself. I don't think I have gained but its another thing that I am probably wasting my time worrying about it. I have been trying to find things to do to take my mind off of this. I have been doing laundry and cleaning the house thinking those are things I will not be able to do. and......well you know that saying "if you want something done right, then do it your self." I am wishing every one good luck and a wonderful recovery.

Starting my 2 week diet on the 29.
Dee951 replied to Msnicnic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
LOL.....I thought the same thing! I have 6 weeks until surgery. I told myself you have 2 weeks to get your favorite foods out of your system. I had my last slice of pizza, McDonald's, ice cream. I just had Pasta the other night. But I am having a hard time giving up bread. My surgeon said high Protein no starches until surgery and do not gain any weight. Well even cutting out my all time favorites alittle at a time I have actually lost a pound. It's been a week and a half since I saw my doctor. Next Wednesday is it...I'm going strictly by his diet. My surgery date is January 29th. All I can say is take it one meal at a time. And don't feel to guilty....you only have to say goodbye to those foods for a short while. You have already done a great job with moderation :-) -

Hello! So happy to find this group. My sleeve surgery will be Jan 28, 2015! I'm so excited. Can any one share what kind of protein shakes you are using? Is it true that flint stone gummy vitamins are ok? I have been taking prenatal vitamins because someone told me it will help with hair. Also I just started to love my big butt.....will I lose it while losing weight? Lol
