I am scheduled on March 20th with Dr. Oritz with the Obesity Control Center in Tijuana! I am so excited and I think it is good to have this support!

I am excited...I faxed the copy of my cashier's check to the office today! I can't believe that this time next week I will be in Tijuana! Any suggestions on places to go to get the best popsicles and broths either in the San Diego airport or in Tijuana? I plan on shopping this weekend for the trip and stuff for the house afterwards...any suggestions on items that I should bring??

The only person who is not supportive is my mother. She is worried about me going to Mexico for the procedure and is scared that something bad will happen. I told all my family about how qualified Dr. Ortiz is and how his facility is an International Center of Excellence but she still prefers me to get my surgery done in the US. To be honest, I thought about it for a little while but Dr. Ortiz has more credentials than the doctors that I looked into. My dad is very supportive and he will go to Mexico with me. Thus, I hope my mother can respect my decision and just pray for a safe and speedy recovery!

Yes it would be exciting to meet you and your wife there! I have already decided as soon as I get to Tijuana I want to go to Walmart and stock the mini-fridge so I don't have to venture off too much after the procedure. Also, I have decided to stop telling people about the surgery since folks are so judgmental. It is crazy how some people believe that the only good doctors are in the US. I had a conversation yesterday with a group at my friend's house and that made me realize how small minded some are...it really made me mad and it made me appreciate this thread so much more!
