No Wonder I Wasn’t Skinny!
Great topic. I was looking back on my fitness pal log this time last year. (6 months prior to my VSG). I could not believe the amount of carbs I was eating. No Wonder I Wasn't Skinny. Daily intake of carbs, was 150, 160, 180. My Protein was low and the fat, sugar and especially the carbs were crazy, just the opposite of what we should be eating. It's amazing to look back and see exactly what I was doing wrong.,,,, EVERYTHING!!!!

Welcome back my friend, I've missed you.

Terrified I can eat to much
@@VSG_Hopeful It's NOT stretched and you are doing fine. Before you had surgery would that half of burrito bowl filled you like it did on Wednesday? I doubt it. As you get further out from surgery you will learn the lower carb, higher Protein foods that fill you and stay with you. I could do half a burrito bowl, chicken, black Beans, mild salsa and cheese at 2 months, and you know what? I can still only do half at 6 months out. You are still healing. @@LipstickLady has stuff to say about stretching your sleeve, you should read it, it sure did set me straight. Do a search you will find LOTS to read. Best of the best wishes to you, LisaLou

Go Outside And Play
My elderly neighbors are loving me, and keep me hydrated. We have had more than our fair share of thunderstorms this year, several times a week. I've been cleaning up mine and my neighbors yards 2 -3 times a week for the past month +. Trees, branches, sticks abound as well as small flash floods washing out around our yards. It doesn't feel like I'm working that hard but at the end of the day I'm soaked through from sweat, and have the "good" aches and pains. My fitness tracker is very happy too.

Calorie intake?
I'm 6 months out and I use My Fitness Pal to track everyday. I can give you my goals; Remember these are MY PERSONAL goals, sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm under, so they are just what I try to shoot for.. (I'm trying to break a stall) Calories 800 kcal Protein 100 gr Fat 27 gr Carbs 40 gr Sugars 38 gr I find it very hard to stay within 40 gr of carbs, so I go over that a whole lot with vegetables and fruit. But I do my best most days. Hope this helps.

What is one thing you use the most post-op
My fitness pal, S'well water bottle, my fitness tracker and Bariatric Pal Every single day. Not everyday are my Jazzercise classes and other exercises.

Isopure Disgusting!
6 months out from surgery and I still drink the grape from time to time. Try it over ice, anything less than ice cold is not tolerable.

Today is my one year anniversary.
@@Essence46 If there was a "love this" button instead of a "like this" button - I would have pushed it. I reached 6 months yesterday and you so eloquently articulated exactly how I feel as well. I can only hope when I reach one year that I've done as well as you. Once again I find myself thanking you for your post. LisaLou

Having Hot Flashes
Hormones, you gotta love em. The first 4 weeks after surgery I froze. Then the hot flashes started, they lasted about 2 months, and have since stopped. I'll have one every once in a while now, about once a week. Hope this helps.

Repeatedly overeating
@@Babbs Just because you can eat more, doesn't mean you should. I am able to over eat - meaning I'm not one of those that feels full on 3 or 4 ounces. I also eat too fast, which is probably why I don't feel full with 3 or 4 ounces. EVERY SINGLE meal is a choice, I choose to limit/measure my portions and I choose to put my fork down and force myself to eat slower. This is me for the rest of my life, one meal at a time.

Am I being a dishonest Christian?
@@TeamMe No, not even a twinge of guilt. I'm far enough out from surgery and have lost enough to be obvious and it doesn't matter to me who knows what about anything. Acquaintances who comment about my transformation, get the "just working on getting healthy" response. Sometimes they might inquire further, in which I'll do the big reveal that I try to stay at 800 calories a day and exercise regularly. So far no one has asked any further questions.
