  1. Hey Jessiebear,

Well done, you have started a wonderful new part of your life. I quit smoking last year and have experienced the benefits of not getting chest infections this year, and loving having so much money left over, I now have really nice shoes and clothing, instead of yucky smokey clothes. My b'f loves to snuggle in now and it doesn't affect his asthma.

    Keep up the good work.

  2. I would make sure your dr can refer you to another surgeon for a follow up as it is a partnership between you, your band & your surgeon, other than that I would personally take the opportunity for the surgery but would see if I could postpone my holiday, most travel agents are ok if suitable notice is given. just think what happens if your band slips whilst you are away from suitable care, and other complications.

that would be what I would do but follow your heart its your life and your choice.

    *hugs*

  3. *lol* I already suffer from wind when I have too much lactose, it gets uncomfortable, I will have to get some de-gas or something like that.... I just remembered some gluten free Soups I can get, but I have trouble finding them in the supermaket. I will get my dad and b/f to search for me.

I need to get a new pillow anyways so I will use the old ones support....is it uncomfortable to sleep after?

  4. Hi to all my soon to be fellow bandsters, five more days to go until I go under and come out on the other side. I am getting quite nervous and excited all at the same time.

If anyone has any suggestions on the liquid stage, please feel free to share your experiences.

    Hope all is well

  5. Hey,

I am getting really nervous, not questioning my decision but just really nervous about surgery. I am scared of pain, and have never had anything this major. I have been on the Optifast for two weeks and have lost 7.4kgs, I go in on the 14th of September 2005.

I know this is prolly normal but all I can think about is the operation, I can't wait but on the same token I am scared Sh&tless....please tell me this is normal and it doesn't hurt too much

    *hugs*

  6. Heya,

Just wondering if anyone has any problems having tea or coffee, I have read in different circles that you shouldn't have caffine for a while, does this include cups of tea, what can you subsitute it with? Also what about diet cola with no caffine?

  7. Hey,

If you are having trouble with milk it may be cause of the lactose in it, I have a lactose intolerance, and can only have soy milk (which there is only one brand I will drink Vitasoy So Milky, prolly an australian product) or Lactose free milk or rice milk. Personal choice but anyone who is having problems might like to give them a try.

  8. Yeah I know the feeling, I am trying hard not to stuff my face with all my favorite foods, but the way I see it, doing that defeats the whole mindset you need to have to undertake getting the band, it isn't as if you won't be able to have food again, just somethings, because I can't eat gluten or dairy I am used to sacrificing foods. I haven't had McDonalds for 3 years now, and there are many other things I can't have either so I don't worry about it, although I am having a roast tonite with golden Syrup dumplings. But yeah I am going to miss eating some foods, but I just look into the future and know that I have made the right decision and think of the sexy slimmer me.
